Poison is a Woman's Weapon. A Man is Measured in Steel.
They call me "dragon slayer."
I've been slumbering for thousands of years in my cave. The birth of the new dragons awoke me.
I am a man. Nay, I am a god—one who faces many dangers. If I am not at risk of being attacked as I walk down the cobblestone path of the nearest village, I am at least at danger of pretty young virgins throwing themselves at me. You might think that sounds awesome, but believe me, stranger. It's troublesome.
Sometimes I just want to be a regular guy. I want to speak like the commonfolk do, to wear drab colors, and to have something to drink about. But nay. I am not so fortunate.
My name is Quintus Mercurio Horndrake, and I am the savior that Westeros deserves… but not the one Westeros wants.
With my scythe in hand, I ventured out of my cave after one thousand years of slumber. I looked well rested, and thankfull the sun seemed to have slipped in through the cracks of my cave, because I was tan.
A pretty young farm girl was passing by with a pail of water. As soon as I entered her line of vision, I saw her go weak in the knees, and I rushed over to catch her.
"Fair maiden," I whisperd into her honey locks as she swooned. "Tell me—what have you heard of the dragons of Westors?"
"There have been rumors," the little darling whispered.
"What rumors?" I replied.
"Rumors of the queen Kaleesi."
The girl looked up at me with her wide blue eyes, and I know that she wanted to kiss me—but I could not let myself become distracted from my mission. "Where can I find this queen Kaleesi?"
Suddenly, the girl turned to ash in my arms, and it was only the splash of her pale of water that protected me from the same fate.
"I AM THE QUEEN KALEESI" roared a voice, and into my vision came a women riding a dragon. I gasped. It had been thousands of years since I'd seen a dragon—my palms itched for the steel of my blade.
The queen Kaleesi dismounted her dragon and stared at me with burning emberous eyes. "Dragon slayer, I have long awaited this battle."
"I do not wish to fight a lady," I said, feeling conflict within my chest. "It would not be fair."
"I'll show you what's fair!" The queen Kaleesi reached into her pockets and pulled out two shuriken. I gasped. They glistened with poison.
The queen Kaleesi tossed the shuriken at me, and I had to do a backflip to avoid being sliced.
"THAT"S NOT FAIR! STAND STILL!" The queen Kalessi shrieked. I did not comply. The next shuriken that came my way, I did a flip right into it and caught it between my fingers. I landed on the ground just inches away from the queen Kaleesi. She put up her hands in terror.
With the shuriken in hand, I had it poised at her neck, and she pouted. "Go ahead," she said fearfully. "Kill me, dragon slayer."
I paused. Wavered. And in the moment I threw the shiruken to the side and out of sight.
"No," I said. "Poison is a weapon fit for the week. For a woman. I am a true man, and I refuse to use poison."
With that, I stepped away from her and draw my sword.
