Another Thomas rewrite, this time it's "Edward Helps Out" from Season 1, with added lines by tate310. Enjoy and comment.

Edward lives at Tidmouth Sheds with all the other engines.

However, they are all bigger than him, and boast constantly about him.

"The driver will never choose you again." said Gordon. "He wants strong engines, like us."

But his driver and fireman felt sorry for him.

"Would you like to come out today?" asked the driver.

"Oh yes please!" replied Edward.

So they lit his fire, and Edward happily puffed away.

The other engines were very cross at being left out.

Edward worked hard all day. Everyone was very pleased of how kind he was.

That night, Edward told the other engines about his day.

"I'm going out again tomorrow!" he told the other engines. "What do you think of that?"
The other engines were cross, but he didn't care, for he was already fast asleep.

When Edward woke up the next morning, nothing had changed.

"I'm the fastest and proudest engine on Sodor." boasted Gordon as he puffed off to take the Express.

Edward puffed off to do some shunting in the yard.

He enjoyed shunting. It was fun to play with freight cars!

Edward shunted all the freight cars, until there were no more left.

When he was finished, he decided to take a rest.

He was just about to fall asleep, when he heard Gordon's whistle.

Gordon was very cross because he was pulling freight cars instead of the Express.

Edward laughed and went to find some more freight cars.

As soon as Edward came back, the conductor came to see him.
"Gordon can't get up the hill!" he cried. "Will you go and push him please?"

Edward set off at once.

They found Edward half way up the hill, red in the face, and very cross.

His driver and fireman were talking to him in a severe tone.

"You're not trying!" they told him.

"I can't do it!" cried Gordon.

Edward's driver came over.

"We've come to push!" he said.

"You'll be no use at all!" huffed Gordon.

"Just wait and see." replied the driver.

They brought the train to the bottom of the hill.

"I'm ready!" said Edward.

"No good!" grumbled Gordon.

They pulled and pushed as hard as they could.

"I can't do it, I can't do it, I can't do it!" puffed Gordon.

"I will do it, I will do it, I will do it!" puffed Edward.

Edward puffed and pushed as hard as he could, and sooner than later, Gordon was at the top of the hill!

"I've done it!" he exclaimed.

But Gordon forgot about kind Edward and didn't say thank you!

At the next station, the fireman gave him a long drink, and the driver said that he would give him a new coat of paint, so that he could be the smartest engine in the shed.
