Hello my faithful readers (if I even have any -.-'...)! This is just a short one-shot dedicated to my good friend Lee's imouto-san who is the biggest Gaara fangirl ever! (Please don't kill me Catelyn-chan! I beg of you!) But anyway, I have decided that Mr. Kazekage needs more love in Suna, thus this fic was born! Enjoy! (Oh and don't worry, Mononoke is not over, no where near over! This is just something I had to write.)
Disclaimer: I only own Kei and her mother. Nothing else.
Listening to the council drone on and on and on was not the Kazekage's idea of a good day. Scowling in exasperation, he rubbed his 'ai' tattoo irritably.
'I get the point already! We have problems! Well what do you expect? We are a ninja village for crying out loud! You want a problemless village, then MOVE!'
'Yeah, yeah! Kill them all kid! Come on just this once! I promise to shut-up for a year if you kill them all for me!'
'Shukaku! I have given up on being a cold-hearted murderer! So just leave me alone!' Just then, one of the more senior elders of the council noticed that Kazekage's expression and, remembering the murderous child he used to be, adjourned the meeting. 'Thank Kami-sama! I might actually be nice to that guy later at this rate!' Standing, Gaara swept his way, quite majestically in his personal opinion, out of the room.
'I think you're more self-centered now than you used to be kiddo.'
'Yeah well you're no walk in the desert either, so please just shut-up.' Smirking to himself, he went to his own room to change out of his nice looking but extremely annoying Kazekage robes.
Strolling along, and trying to ignore the fact that people still feared him, Gaara made his way through Suna. Seeing a little girl buying groceries with her mother, he couldn't help but feel a bit happy that even if the villagers didn't accept him, he was still going to give his all to protect them.
"Look Mommy! It's the Kazekage!" The little girl pointed at him excitedly and grinned at her mother, before running over to him.
"Konnichiwa Kazekage-sama!" The little girl grinned up at him, her brown eyes bright and the sun causing her blonde hair to look as if it was glowng.
"Konnichiwa..." He trailed off, not knowing the girl's name.
"My name is Kei!"
"Well... Konnichiwa then Kei." He started to continue with his walk. Instantly he was stopped by Kei's small hands tugging on the leg of his pants. "Yes?"
"I just wanted to tell you-"
"Kei! Stop bothering Gaara-sama! I'm sure he has important buisness to attend to!" Kei's mother came over and began pulling Kei to a store.
"I think you're the best Kazekage ever Gaara-sama!" The little girl's shout rang through the door to the shop just as it snapped shut.
'Man I love my job...'
Well? Do you like it? Oh, please say you like it!
Ja!
