White Collar

Costumes and Comics

BeautifulAlice

Summary: Dressed up for Halloween, Neal and the team enjoys the holiday. Gen fic, no spoilers.

Neal couldn't help but appreciate the fact that Halloween was just around the corner. Candy, costumes, and magic. Three of his favorite things. He loved Halloween, not only because he got to dress up, but also because it meant that the White Collar office unit got to take the day easy.

"I'm surprised you even showed up," Peter commented, as Neal came up to him to greet him cheerfully.

"I was curious," Neal said with a grin. "El said that you were dressing up this year,"

"She lied," Peter said dryly. "She hoped that I would dress up this year,"

"Come on, Peter! Why won't you join in the fun?"

"Because I'm simply not interested. I've never really been a fan of Halloween." Peter admitted.

"But Halloween is full of fun and candy," Diana chimed in, coming over. She was dressed as a witch, and was even holding a broom in her right hand. Peter gave her a dry look while Neal grinned at her.

"Nice costume!" Neal said beaming at her.

She actually grinned back at him.

"I know. Christy helped me out with it. Where's Jones?" She asked, curiously.

"Never fear, Sam Wilson is here!" Jones called, coming into the room. He had to go sideways, because he was wearing a pair of what looked like metal wings.

"Sam Wilson?" Peter asked, confused.

"Really, boss? You haven't read Captain America or the Avengers?" Diana asked, amused.

"I'm not big on comics," Peter said, rolling his eyes. "So I assume Sam Wilson is one of the avengers?"

"Actually, he's just a buddy of Captain America's, but he does help out now and again. Plus, he's one of the few male black characters on there," Jones informed him, shrugging. The wings looked pretty realistic, Neal noted. He reached out to touch one, and blinked.

"It's actually metal," Neal said, surprised.

"Yeah. I thought it would add to more realism." Jones said with a wicked grin. "Plus, if this turns into something like that Buffy episode where the characters dressed up and became their characters costumes, I'll be able to fight off monsters better. And I'll be able to fly too,"

Neal laughed, while Diana and Peter both rolled their eyes.

"So what are you, Neal? A butler?" Diana asked, teasingly.

"Ha! No, I'm Bond. James Bond," Neal said, gaining amused looks.

"As much fun as this all is, I say we head out for dinner and then I've got to go home and help my wife with the trick-or-treaters," Peter observed.

"Dinner sounds good," Jones agreed.

"Yeah, let's go eat, I'm starving!" Neal chimed in.

"You're always starving," Diana teased, and-laughing-the group went off to brave the masses.

Notes: just a little fun Halloween fic. Granted, it's nowhere near Halloween, but I was in the mood to write something for it. (though I find it amusing that the day I post this is actually EASTER not Halloween! lol)
