Your Guardian Angel
Hermione Granger sat in the Shrieking Shack watching as Severus Snape took his last breath, wishing for everything to go back to the way it was before; before Dumbledore was killed and the "Golden Trio" went hunting for Voldemort's horcruxes. Hermione watched as Severus smiled at Harry thinking he(Severus) was looking into his ex- best friend, Lily's eyes. As he was doing this Hermione was silently crying for the man who would be known as one of the sacrificial heroes in the Wizarding World.
Most likely Rita Skeeter would write another false article in the Daily Prophet and it would be on the front page of said newspaper. The Wizarding World, or at least Hogwarts' castle, would be turning cold because of the mourning that would be happening for the dead witches and wizards that littered the grounds. Hermione wondered if Severus would be happy where ever he was going, but then she removed the thought from her mind with a shake of her head.
Hermione knew she had to be strong as she remembered all the times that she had remained ever so faithful to Severus, even when Harry and Ron would be putting the blame on Severus even though they couldn't prove anything throughout the years of their Hogwarts education. She knew that everything would be okay as she had to move on from her current train of thoughts.
As she took his body back to Hogwarts for the counting of the dead, she realized that she would never get to tell him how she felt. She also realized that everything would be okay because he would be her guardian angel, even though he was still in his prime to be able to sire children.
As time and seasons passed she realized that the Wizarding World would always remind her of him, but she would be okay because she had memories of all the times that she had been loyal to him for so long. It didn't matter what anyone said about Severus Snape, she would always defend his name.
