A/N: So, I have returned. It's been what, more than 3 years maybe? This feels really weird, like looking through my old yearbook photos and being that one kid who looked really stupid but come on, who doesn't look stupid in yearbook photos? Anyway, I digress. For those of you who just found this and were expecting a story, I'm sorry to half disappoint you. This "chapter" if it can be called that is more of a foreword to a story that I will be writing in the future. I'm still fleshing out ideas and what I'd like to do with this story but I will be starting writing again in the near future.

For those of you who may or may not know me, I used to write for fanfiction before giving up because I felt overwhelmed by the lack of attention that I was getting and whatever small negative comments I did get, so now, I'M BACK. It's been a long time coming, three years plus to be exact, but I'm back. For those of you who do know me, um... hi, if you're still interested in my fanfiction writing skills I'm all for that and grateful if you'd continue to support this new story. I was actually planning to replied my previous story but I've unfortunately lost all files to that so here I am, writing a new story. It might be for the best, given how badly it was written, and now this is turning into a slight ramble so I'll make the rest as brief as I can. This will be a Percy Jackson fanfiction but extremely AU because I am not caught up with the more recent books after HOO and I don't intend to read them, no offence to Rick Riordan, but I will endeavour to recall and use as much of my knowledge and memory as I can so forgive me in advance if I forget any names, make mistakes, etc.

If my memory serves me correctly, the description box for the story that you see immediately underneath a title was WAY too small for a sufficient summary of what I want to write but I will test the waters and see how it goes. I will put a little summary of what I'm thinking of juggling as my main theme just below this so ANYTHING NOT IN BOLD IS THE ACTUAL FOREWORD. So yeah, any expressed interest towards my writing would be greatly appreciated even before I actually start writing, whether you remember me or not, but I'm not expecting a great deal of interest or positivity given this sites traffic, Percy Jackson kind of being for a maturing generation that has moved past fan fiction (even though I'm still here but eh) so I'll be updating and writing this out of my own interest/free time/whatever else you want to call it so don't expect a fixed update schedule or chapters 6000-7000 words long like I used to do. I'll try and keep my chapters to a good thematic length rather than trying to stick to a word limit that way I will update more frequently but maybe in smaller word quantities. Anyway, I said I would keep this brief so I will end this here, the foreword is below.

"Failure. We all felt it. That feeling of desperately clawing your way up to something, scratching and fighting with tooth and nail... and then failing just as it was within reach. None felt it more than The Seven. The Seven failed. They failed to stop Gaia just as she awoke. The onager shot went astray, taking Octavian and all hope along with it as it failed to hit its target. Festus' fire alone was not enough to destroy Gaia in her mortal state and so when she awoke, she destroyed most everything around her. But that was not the worst of it.

"The armies of monsters that fought for Gaia swelled in numbers and power, growing fat from the slaughter and soon turned against her. They broke the Doors of Death down once again and revolted just as men had done before, as the gods had done before, as the titans and the primordials before them had done; thus ushering in a new age, the Blood Age.

"As chaos ensued, any loyalties to the Gods were quickly cut, those monsters which had befriended the Gods were forced to choose between their kin or be slaughtered. The Gods themselves were not so lucky either. After ruling for millennia and having oppressed the new regime, they were captured, tortured, and their essence scattered to reform again and again, to be hunted down just like the beasts they subjugated. The old way of things were now gone and like Pandora's box, only hope remained for those that survived the chaos. Humans were hunted for sport, treated as livestock or simply toys to the new regime, the lucky ones were killed after a few days worth of torture.

Atrocities and monsters locked away in Tartarus and other divine prisons rampaged through the world. Darker powers never before seen nor heard of emerged and soon took power. Nightmares and horrors of the imagination sprung forward, Fear now almost a God itself and people's beliefs in the occult and demonic now broke out of their psyche to wreak havoc. With time, those monsters grew in strength and those thought to be of little challenge to demigods were soon able to tear even the best trained heroes limb from limb. However, it was the Greek monsters, some of the oldest and most savage, that were the worst of them all; and so it was that they reigned over a smoking world.

"But not all was lost. The Gods, before they were captured, used the last of their power and gave immortality to a select few, for the divine laws no longer held sway over the world anymore, in the hopes that one day they would bring back some semblance of order to a now broken world. And so, this is where we stand today, amidst a flaming world with the Gods dead and literal monsters ruling over everything."

A/N: So this is what I was thinking of. A little post apocalyptic theme for those interested. I'll probably write this similarly to Berserk/Grimgar's Fantasy/Dark Souls/Goblin Slayer for those that are familiar with it but definitely toning down some of those darker themes. Although they'll still be present, I won't go into too much detail and try to keep my chapters T to I think M is the correct rating? just for the amount of gore/violence that will be present but rape and other mature themes like it will be sparse.

Percy is also definitely not going to be OP as in my previous story and it will definitely be a struggle from the get go and I feel as though there are plenty of directions I could go with this so I'm feeling pretty pumped. As such i should list some stuff that should be said but I'll put it in the overview/summary thing anyway just to be safe:

Disclaimer: The Percy Jackson series belongs to Rick Riordan and I do not own anything

If you feel uncomfortable with darker themes such as gore and/or dark fantasy in general this might not be the best fan fiction to be reading but my writing will definitely not be doom and gloom 24/7 so stick around

There will be lighter moments and a proper plot I promise

I will not be doing lemons but some may be implied.

Anyway, this is a little teaser/foreword for anyone who still reads PJO fanfictions and I hope you guys stick around!

P.S. I don't have a harem/romance thing in mind but if enough people express interest in it I will weave it in. Also, if anyone has suggestions for monsters to throw at Percy as he struggles onwards in this new world leave a review. I'll be kind of treating this as a D&D campaign but obviously not directly, more so the narration of a person's adventures.
