Chapter 1: Curiosity killed the Boar
The air was thick and hot as the sun beat down mercilessly on the red, barren soil. Kuri Sunpetal, a high ranking blood elf huntress, was on top her purple hawkstrider, making her
way to the Dark Portal through the God forsaken Blasted Lands. She hated going to Outland via the Dark Portal, it always turned her insides and gave her a hideous headache for
hours, but she had important business in Thrallmar and it was the quickest route. The red dust mixed with clay and rock flew in a ominous cloud behind her as she made her way
down the dirt path. All about her was the same thing from last time she had taken the scenic tour to Outland: barren, red wilderness and the creatures that called the hellhole their
home. Kuri was approaching the Dark Portal when a high pitched scream pierced the air causing her to stop dead in her tracks. The scream resonated again and this time Kuri's
highly trained hunter ears picked it up coming from a crator a few feet away. Kuri gave one long look at the Dark Portal, before hopping off her mount and mentally cursing herself for
being so damn curious as she made her way to the crator and the screams.
"NO! STAY AWAY!" a tiny, fragile creature cowered inside a tiny opening in the rock of the crator as an Ashman boar tried to smash and gnarl it's way to it's next meal. Kuri watched
intently from the top of the crator, " What do you think Hibashi? Should we help?" The large white and blue tiger yawned in reply, which meant in cat speak, " I don't care ether way,
but it's almost dinner time and I'm hungry, so hurry up." Kuri rolled her eyes at her pet's ambiguity and motioned for him to kill the boar. In one quick moment, the large cat had
jumped off the edge of the crator and onto the unaware boar, ripping it's intestines out with two well placed swipes. Blood gushed out of the opening on the boar and all over the
ground, as Kuri hopped down beside the Hibashi and his now dinner, being careful to keep her boots clean. She carefully side stepped the mess and made her way to the tiny opening
in the rock and squatted down to peer inside. Utter shock overcame Kuri's face as her eyes met the big blue eyes of a small child, a human child.
