A/N: So, this is my first stab at poetry instead of fanfics. This was written for a school project revolving around the main themes of To Kill A Mockingbird. Enjoy! Please R & R!
Disclaimer: I do not and never will own To Kill A Mockingbird or its characters.

Good and evil coexist in this world, a
With the good side usually showing. b
But when vile sides of humans become unfurled, a
A dark river of hate will start flowing. b
One by one, humans evolve into dogs, c
And you don't recognize a single soul. d
They howl at night and sing wretched songs c
About the man whose skin is dark like coal. d
Tom Robinson, the man I shall defend, e
And the one that human dogs bark about, f
Is nearing his fateful and bloody end, e
Without so much as a shadow of a doubt. f
One night, the dogs heard their call of the wild g
And became a wolf pack hard to ignore. h
Cunningham, the leader, and the most riled, g
Smashed his angered fist against my front door. h
They were ranting and raging, gathered around, i
Their mouths foaming and their open wounds bleeding. j
But they were quelled when they heard the simple sound i
Of my littlest one speaking in greeting. j
She did not know why their expressions had dropped k
When a while ago, they had been fuming. l
I replied, " A gang of wild animals can be stopped, k
Simply because they are still human." l
