The boys sat with their Da in the small illegal loft on the fifth floor of a building in Boston, FBI Agent Smecker just left, it had been a long morning everything was silent except for the rain hitting the windows on the far side of the room. Murphy turned on the small television to view the press conference about the killing of Yakavetta that morning. Everyone saw their faces, it would only be a matter of time before the law was knocking on their door.
"We need ta leave, get somewhere safe and lay low for a while." Connor spoke up lighting a cigarette and taking a long hard drag. Murphy looked at his brother and shook his head.
"And where do ya think we can go? Back to Ireland? We would be caught before we even got onto a plane Con. What about everything here? Mcglinty's? Shit man Rocco is dead." Connors eyes welled up, he put his cigarette out and put his head down on the table. Noah looked at his sons and sighed.
"Murphy, Connor is right, we can't stay here fer much longer. We need ta at least get out of Boston, somewhere large where we can blend in, pack only what ya need nothing more ye both need to go." The boys looked at their Da and stood to start packing.
MURPHY POV:
My duffel bag started to get full as I packed my clothes and a few weapons, I didn't need anything else, after we were packed Connor and I looked at our Da. I knew what was coming next. "Boys ya have to go without me, I'm not finished here, unfinished business." Both Connor and I hugged our Da. Almost as soon as we let him go he was gone, leaving us not knowing when we would see him again. I looked around at our small place and thought about how much I would miss it. All of me memories with me and me brother and especially Rocco.
"Well for fucks sake let's get a move on eh?" Connor picked up his bag and walked out the door without looking back. I took one last look and followed leaving everything that made me, me behind.
Connor drove us through Boston in Rocco's car, all the familiar places flew by until I didn't recognize anything anymore. Life was really about to change for us and maybe not for the better.
