I wander down the train, which is comfortably familiar after 6 years of rides to Hogwarts. I pass all the younger kids, (which is everyone outside of my year, one of the perks of being a seventh year student) making my way towards the back, where my friends and I have always sat, since the day we met. I still remember that day after all these years, because it was the first time I'd ever had friends. It was the best day in my life, though I suppose that's not saying much seeing how my life at home wasn't exactly perfect.

About four or five cars from the end of the train, Peter Pettigrew pops out of a compartment and waves at me. "Get in here, Sirius!" he says with a goofy little grin. He's probably the nicest, cutest little kid I've ever known. I slip in through the doors after him, and I can't stop laughing at the scene inside.

Remus and Peter are on one bench restraining laughs with varying degrees of success. And opposite of them, James and Lily are curled up, asleep. Lily is curled into James's chest with her red-ish hair cascading down the edge of the seat. She sleeps elegantly, but James on the other hand... James is sprawled across the seat with one leg thrown off the edge, and an arm draped over Lily. His other arm is thrown over his head at an awkward angle, and if he weren't breathing, I'd probably assume he was dead. Not just breathing, he also snores like a faulty lawnmower. He also drools something awful. Poor Lily's face have a thin stream trailing down to her cheek. She's going to have a nasty little shock when she wakes up.

I turn to Peter and nod with a little grin. It might have been a bit vague, but he gets my meaning. He chuckles as he pulls his bag off the shelf and takes out a quill and inkwell. "Thanks" I whisper and take them. I get a disapproving look from Remus but I can tell he's enjoying this. He's got his tells that I've noticed through the years. When he's happy, the corners of his eyes scrunch up all cute like, and that's how they look now. I turn to James again and silently dip the quill in ink. I crouch down and quietly sketch a lovely little moustache on James's face. I step back to admire my work, and hand Peter his stuff. I take a seat, gleaming with pride. Remus is shaking his head, but every time he looks at James he grins, so I know I've done my job well.

Peter has his hands clapped on his mouth trying not to laugh. I lean over and tap his shoulder and nod. He uncovers his mouth and starts laughing out loud. It's a funny little laugh, something that some people would think is ugly, but I think it's endearing. Soon Remus and I join in. James and Lily wake up. "Wuz goin on?" James asks, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Lily sits up too. She also tries to wipe her eyes, but she encounters more than just tired eyes. "What the heck, James!" she shouts when she realizes he drooled all over her face. He looks at her with the stupidest confused look I've ever seen. She shoves him off of her with a small smile and takes a sleeve of her sweater and starts scrubbing viciously. The rest of us are laughing even harder now. Peter collapsed into his seat clutching his side.

After getting all of James's slobber off her face and brushing her hair, Lily turns to face James. I think she was going to scold him, but now she's laughing too. James just looks more confused than ever, which exaggerates the moustache even more.

"Y-Your face!" Lily manages to choke out between breathes.

Eventually the trolley came by, and James treated us all to a large round of candy and such, which was surprising since he was still mad that we wouldn't tell him what we'd done. The trolley witch was nice enough not to laugh at James to his face, but I saw her chuckling as she made her way to the next compartment. We started laughing again when James started eating, the moustache moved along with his lip, like a large black caterpillar. "What did you do?" He demanded through a mouth full of fudge.

After a few minutes, we had to stop and catch out breathe. James was staring out the window; he had figured out what I had done and gotten mad at me for pranking him.

"The train is going to pull in soon," Lily reminded us. She stared at us, wanting us to leave the compartment so she could change. "Right then, off you go!" Peter said, happily handing her all her clothes which she had laid out at some point. With an annoyed sigh, she left to change in the area across from us where all her girlfriends sat. We changed in silence and then waited for the train to arrive at Hogwarts.
