'Go outside and look up, Sarah Jane Smith. Look up at the sky, 'says the elder, as Sarah Jane looks at the man, confused by his words.

'Look up at the sky? What do you mean?' Sarah Jane asks, and the man eyes her, and repeats his words over again, in a tone that pretty much implied doom was coming.

'Go outside and look up, Sarah Jane. Look up at the sky.'

Meanwhile in Ealing, the clouds, dark and looming, continued to pour buckets of rain. It was impossible to go outside, most were stuck inside, bored and with nothing to do. Instead of wallowing in sheer boredom, Maria rummages around the living room, in search of a good video game, or a book she had yet to read. Looking out the window, the sky looks as if it has been poisoned and had been trying to reject the venom that was injected. That was how dark it was outside. The young teen looks out the window, sighing. She wanted so much to go outside, but the weather was not suitable for travel or to even take in the nature.

'Mom, I'm bored,' Maria says, twirling a strand of her hair. She had no school, as classes were cancelled for the day due to flooding. Her dad was away at work, and Sarah Jane was away for the weekend. Luke was at Clyde's and there was no way that her mom would drive her in this nasty storm to Clyde's place. Also it was Chrissie's turn with Maria for the weekend. Just as she places a pencil to her drawing pad, a loud crash of thunder is heard. It is strong enough to shake the portraits on the wall. Chrissie runs to make sure nothing falls off the brightly painted walls. She had taken months to decorate this place, and the portraits weren't exactly cheap. They were her boyfriend Ivans art, he had spent quite a bit just to purchase all this avant garde work.

'Maria, honey…just find something to do,'Chrissy says with a hint of stress in her voice. She hated storms. Strangely enough though, Maria had a feeling that this was no ordinary storm. This was something caused by interference. She runs into her room, shutting the door behind her. Picking up her cellular phone, she dials Sarah Jane's number, almost nearly by memory. Putting the phone to her ear, she hears a familiar voice.

'Maria, stay indoors…this isn't your typical storm. It's not safe to be outside. I've already contacted Clyde and Luke, and they're with Clyde's mom indoors. Make sure your parents are safe…I'm notifying the authorities to make sure the population remains indoors. Stay safe, Maria, I'll contact you when I find out more.'

Maria nods, and they say their quick goodbyes, and she sets the phone on her nightstand. Walking up to the window, she looks up at the sky once more. Sighing, she flops on her bed, and closes her eyes, and soon falls sound asleep.
