How'd you make that?

Author's Note: Hey guys, I'm sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, and I'm really sorry I haven't finished my Charmed fanfiction. I just haven't been inspired lately, but now that my favorite show is back, I should get better.

Warnings: Spoilers for "Countdown"

Disclaimer: Unfortunately, I do not own Neal Caffrey or anything else White Collar related.

Peter walked through the area, searching for any indication as to where Neal and Keller were. Now that he knew his wife was safe, he could start worrying about someone else he loved.

He turned a corner and saw Keller hit Neal over the head with the painting, and then take that stick he was so fascinated by and wacked Neal in the back-hard. He didn't even think about, he charged and tackled Keller, who quickly got up and made some remark about Elizabeth. Peter smirked and told him that they had found her. Keller started swinging at him. Peter defended himself and swung back, reacting on instinct, not really thinking about the fight. He was worried about Neal-that painting looked like it hurt. Of course he was still pissed at Neal, but he was his partner and his friend, and he needed to make sure he was okay. He heard Neal moan, and out of the corner of his eye saw him starting to move. Good, at least he was still conscious.

He continued to struggle with Keller, when he heard a shot ring out, and half a second later, Keller dropped to the ground, groaning. He swung around and saw Neal lying on the ground, holding a gun. Neal got up and asked if they had really gotten Elizabeth. Peter told him yes and asked "How'd you make that?" already knowing the answer. He thought back to Avery's house, where Neal had said something about even though he didn't like guns, he knew how to use one, and also thought about when Neal had told him about his father and said that he had gotten really good with guns. Still, that seemed like an impossible shot. However, he didn't care so much about how Neal had made it, but why he had. He knew that Neal felt the same way as he did, best friends and partners, and that Neal would do a lot for him, but he knew Neal despised guns. The fact that Neal would shoot someone for him said a lot.

Neal shrugged and held his hand out for Peter to help him up. He took Neal's hand and thought about how, no matter how mad he was about the treasure, he now knew for sure that Neal would never betray him.

Author's note: I know it's not exactly like in the episode, but I like this. I also know it's unrealistic that Peter would even start to forgive Neal that fast, but I thought it spoke volumes that Neal shot someone for Peter, and I want them to be friends again, so we got a happy ending. Yay! I'm thinking about extending this, with Peters thoughts during Neal's almost-confession, but I'm not sure. Tell me in the reviews if you think I should or not.
