-One shot-
Conan slowly adjusted the small compact mirror on his hands. The small mirror reflected the bored girl sitting at the back, her reddish brown hair glowing with the light. Conan quickly hid the mirror as the teacher passed by. Kobayashi-sensei seem to guard him tightly than any other student in the room. Well, he was quite a troublemaker. He's also the reason why Haibara was moved at the back of the class and him at the front.
When sensei passed by, he adjusted the mirror again and let it sit on his table, watching the girl reflected in it. It was a week since he realized that he liked her. It was also unexpected because he thought of her as his partner... that was before he knew his hidden feelings for her.
He asked his mother, who was 'very- very excited', what he should do. Of course Yukiko did a little teasing here and there before answering his question. Conan also confessed his embarrassing moments whenever Haibara is around.
He pulled out his phone and read the message he kept on reading a few hours ago.
'Shin-chan, you're really dense. I congratulate you for realizing that you like Ai-chan but you've still got a long way to go.'
"What does it mean?" he mumbled.
He looked at the mirror again. Haibara doesn't seem to notice him looking at her. She just continued writing or doodling in her notebook. He sent a message to her mother before returning his phone back to his pocket.
'What should I do now? I'm acting strange around her. What if she noticed that I like her? God, she'll make fun of me forever!'
His thoughts were cut when his phone vibrated. He looked at their teacher before quickly looking at the reply her mother gave him.
'Shin-chan, stop using the mirror' was his mother's reply.
"What?" he messaged her again but he got no reply. What does she mean about that?
He looked at the mirror again. His mother said stop using it, then how will he continue looking at her without getting caught? Deciding to follow her mother's advice, he pocketed his mirror dejectedly.
He was getting a little uncomfortable because he really wanted to take a look at Haibara.
'A peek won't hurt' he slowly turned his head to look at her, he quickly looked away when he found out that she was already looking at him.
'What the F-' he thought, 'kaa-san's embarrassing me more!' he was about to pull the mirror from his pcket when he remembered something.
He's sitting near a window, the sunlight entering freely. He held he mirror in his hand. The mirror reflecting Haibara. Reflecting... sunlight entering freely...
His eyes widened before his face blushed into a very dark colour of red. His phone vibrated and he quickly opened it, not minding if the teacher caught him.
'Shin-chan, I think she likes you too' was her mother's message, 'I told you a long time ago, didn't I?'
Pocketing his phone, he decided to test it out. He adjusted the mirror so it reflected Haibara. He also looked at her. He faced the mirror down. He waited. After a few seconds, Haibara looked up, her eyes looking straight at him. She quickly turned her attention back to her notebook.
He can't believe it. That's why he didn't see her looking at him even once. He continued doing it for the next few minutes and he always gets the same result.
He looked at the mirror in his hands. He scratched the back of his head with a smile on his face.
"Kaa-san, are you a psychic or what?"
...
A/N: END! If you are confused this is the reason about the mirror: he uses mirror to steal glances at Haibara, right? He's seating near a window so the mirror is reflecting light. The mirror is focused on Haibara so the light reaches her. It's weird because the light is coming from the front not from the window. And that's how she knew whenever Conan's looking at her.
