Tell Me It's Not True

The last day of term, also known as my day of hell. It started off all okay, I got a lovely present from Eddie, we we're supposed to be going on holiday for the summer. I sit at my desk only to hear chaos outside it. The door flew open and there she stood…Mellissa…pregnant!

Tell me its not true

Say its just a story, something on the news

Tell me its not true

Say its just a dream, say its just a scene

From an old movie with Marilyn Monroe

"Its Eddie's" she spoke and my heart sunk. Three months pregnant, and all I wanted to do was cry. Mellissa didn't care at all she was being incredibly rude about it. And what about poor Phillip?

Say its just some clowns

Two players in the limelight

Bring the curtain down

The school choir was due to sing later on at the school choir of the year competition, I had to keep a brave face on for the kids. Eddie and Mellissa were talking in my office, I'd never seen Eddie so angry before. I stood on playground duty my head spinning and a chest full of anxiety. I saw Phillip talking with his friends her looked ever so down hearted.

Say its just two clowns

Who couldn't get their lines right

Say its just a show, on the radio

That we can turn over and start again

That we can turn over, its only a game

The bell rang and the coach arrived ready for the kids to board. I had to make sure that they got on sensibly when I saw Eddie coming over. The coach was now ready to leave, I thanked Eddie for the gift, I looked deep into his eyes and he looked into mine as I gave him a sweet kiss on the lips. We both knew it…just didn't want to admit it…its over.

Tell me its not true

Say, I only dreamed it

And morning will come soon

As I took my seat on the coach, and as it slowly pulled away the speed mirroring the emptiness that was building up inside me. My eyes stung with love, tears of love. Eddie and I remained looking at each other until neither of us were no longer in one another's sight. Then I saw Mellissa, her eyes small and hard. I felt sick, and sighed heavily.

Tell me its not true

Say you didn't mean it

Say its just pretend

Say its just the end

The end of the day slowly came upon itself. Could it get any worse? Yes! Flicks dad came along with a giant JCB and had began demolishing the school. Then the moment came when Eddie and I had to 'talk'. It was hurting me so much but it just wouldn't work, things were to complicated. Eddie decided to leave. As he held me in his arms to say goodbye, the wind blew chilling ling around us.
