It was Christmas day, and Karen's brother David, who was the Prime Minister, had decided that he and his girlfriend would like to spend Christmas with Karen, her husband Harry, and their children Daisy and Bernard. The day was to go smoothly. Obviously, it didn't. If it did, we wouldn't have a tale to tell would we? David and Natalie arrived at 10AM in their chauffeur driven Mercedes-Benz. Everyone sat down for lunch at 1pm. Then everyone opened their presents. Insert Chaos here. They all sat down in the living room. And here the trouble starts. Daisy and Bernard argued about who got to open their presents first. In the end, it was Natalie, then David, Then Harry, Then Daisy, Then Bernard, and finally Karen. They got there eventually. David's present to Natalie was, quite simply, a marriage proposal. (She said yes!) Karen got Harry a scarf. Harry got Karen a scarf. Harry and Karen gave Daisy a dress. They gave Bernard a new T-Shirt and some socks. David and Natalie gave Harry and Karen a new toaster (Theirs had broken just a few days before.) Harry, Karen, Daisy and Bernard gave David some aftershave and they gave Natalie a necklace.
