I held your hand as we wondered what was real,
Because in a world as fake as ours,
No one's honest on how they feel.

I fell down in the ocean, and you wouldn't let me go.
You yelled over the roaring waves,
"You're all I got to face this foe."

I wondered what you meant when you called out for me,
Because all I've known in love is:
To let go of those we need.

The ocean tried to claim me and you quickly pulled me in;
I thought for sure I would be stolen,
But you wouldn't let it win.

As we lay gasping on the rocks, you held me while I cried.
Alone and in the darkness,
I know you really tried.

"You're my anchor, my fortress. My reason to stick around.
You're my laughter, my smiles;
You keep my feet on the ground."

You kissed me on the forehead and smiled the biggest smile.
Tears streaming down your face,
We lied there quite a while.

I had always thought in love, everything was hidden behind doors.
But maybe it is different-
Maybe there's something more.
