The next morning, a twenty-one-year-old Ron awoke to the sound of plates moving and the smell of pancakes and other delicious aromas. Wow, something smells delicious… wait a minute; both Mom and Dad are already gone to work. Rubbing the sleep from his eyes, he slipped out of bed with a bow staff at the ready. And Hana should still be asleep since her feeding isn't for another hour and a half. Creeping down the stairs, he had to fight the urge to sink into the euphoric high that had surrounded him. Plus, I always go to KP's house for breakfast. Turning the corner, he raised his staff above his head to strike the person who had trespassed into his kitchen when he saw something that sent his mind reeling.
The person stopped moving at the stove and whirled around as her aquamarine eyes shimmered in silent surprise, making the blond drop his defenses to the ground with a hollow thud. Standing in front of him was a girl around his age with flawless tan skin, long dark brown hair streaked with blond. She was clad in a silk black dress that had a cerulean asymmetrical sash across her ample bosom. The dress was made in such a way that it sported her curves and slim stomach while managing to show a conservative amount of leg, seeing as how it stopped at mid-thigh and flared out to rest just above her knees. Her hair was in loose curls that wafted down to her mid-waist, save the blonde bang over her right eye that was almost pin straight. A heart shaped mole rested above the upper left corner of her mahogany painted lips. A tattoo of a blue rose wrapped around a '70s dagger IX classic with a gold heart at the hilt adorned her left calf. Black silk gloves with the forefinger and pinky showing were worn proudly upon her wrists. Black floral lace arm warmers with diamond crested cuffs stood out against her arms. A silver chain with a diamond cross and two rings hung proudly from her neck. Looking at her feet, he saw that she was wearing simple black ballet flats with Roman ribbon ties studded with silver and gold.
A starry smile illuminated his face as he scooped up the brunette into his arms. A tear streaked down his cheek as he tenderly kissed the top of her head. "Brittanya, I… I can't believe you're here; it's been too long." After a moment of hugging his surrogate sibling, he pulled away to fix her with a mock glare. "Why didn't you tell me that you were coming early? I wasn't expecting you for another three days." Brittanya's gaze immediately found interest with the kitchen tiles. "I wanted to surprise you." A smile found its way across the blond's face as he spun her around, which made her laugh in turn.
After setting her back down, he ran back upstairs to get ready. Within fifteen minutes, he was dressed and ready to go. Picking up her bags from behind the sofa, they were halfway out the door when Ron stopped her from moving off the porch. The gesture elicited a raised brow from the Executioner until Ron's hand went to his pocket. He raised his hand slowly to reveal… "Rufus!" she squealed as the naked mole rat hopped out of her surrogate brother's hand to perch up on her shoulder. She cooed softly to the bald rodent as she affectionately nuzzled him. Ron smiled at the reunion before urging them off to the Possible's household, with Rufus slipping out of sight in all the hustle and bustle. Once they got there, Ron pushed the brunette behind him and knocked on the door to alert the house that he had arrived. Stepping inside cautiously, he pulled her in after him. "Hõla, Possible clan!" he called out. The family responded in the affirmative as he waltzed into his second house. "You won't believe who's coming to school with me."
Stepping aside, he brought his little sister out of hiding. A collective gasp was heard as the brunette was presented. However, no welcome was bigger than the one that Kim gave as she dived down upon the unsuspecting Specialist. "Brit!" she laughed as she gave her a friendly squeeze. Releasing her, she crossed her arms as an inquiring look crept across her features. "I thought Ron said you were coming in three days." Brittanya smiled sheepishly as she tried to come up with a reason why she had arrived ahead of schedule when Mrs. Possible gently moved her daughter out of the way so that she could get her long awaited hug from the prodigal daughter. "Well, the good news is that you're here… safely." She stressed the last word as she looked down at a now embarrassed Kim.
Deciding to take the spotlight off the seemingly touchy subject, Mr. Possible shook out his newspaper and cleared his throat as he glanced up at the clock. "As glad as we are to see you Bri, I think it's about time that you kids headed off to school." The three university juniors simultaneously looked in the direction of the analog clock before they dashed out the door, the argument of interest a distant memory as they hurried off to catch the shuttle bus for school.
