"Your daughter gets lovelier every time I see her." President Snow said to Win as he approached Birdie.

She stood there calmly as President Snow grasped her hand and lifted it to his lips, kissing her hand slightly.

"I have not seen you since the last Hunger Games, what have you been up to?"

"The usual, creating havoc, partying with boys, drugs." Birdie responded jokingly.

Her father shot her a look which instantly made her cringe, she knew that look all to well. The one that read, if

you don't behave and act properly I'll beat you when we get home. Birdie's response to President Snow's question

received a hearty laugh from the President.

"My dear, you are still as amusing as ever."

"Why thank you, President Snow." Birdie spoke in a hushed voice.

As she said this President Snow's secretary entered the room, followed by a girl not that far from Birdie's age.

She had long, stick straight golden brown hair and gold all over her tanned skin. She glared at Birdie as she passed

by her, if they were any younger she probably would have stuck her tongue out at Birdie.

"President Snow, she was disturbing the peace at the Watergroves." His secretary stated.

The Watergroves is a nice little park just outside of one of the old arenas filled with a multitude of water fountains.

"This is really unnecessary," the girl spoke. "I just wanted to go for a little swim, what's wrong with that?"

Birdie choked back a snort and the girl turned to her.

"Got something to say, bitch?"

"It's Birdie, actually. And you seriously don't have an indoor swimming pool at your house? You have to go out into

public and terrify people just to cool off? It's kind of pitiful." The girl was about to speak again when President Snow

interjected, "Girls, be respectful, thank you." The last part was completely unnecessary, but Birdie kept her mouth shut.

He turned specifically to the brunette and spoke.

"Your name." he demanded.

"Allec." she answered.

He didn't miss a beat, "Full name." She hesitated only slightly, probably thinking some rude comment about the President,

one that would most likely get her sent to prison.

"Allessandra Amador." President Snow made a slight face, he looked confused but angry at the same time, it wasn't often that

moments later and seized Allessandra, as Birdie, her father, and President Snow watched as she was dragged away.

"Where are they going to take her?" Birdie asked.

"My dear, that is no business of yours." President Snow said and sat down at his desk. "You may leave. I shall see you both tonight at the dinner?"

It sounded like a question but it was more of demand.

"Good afternoon, sir." Win said and left Birdie following close behind her father.

"I promise you I made an appointment to see him three weeks ago!" a dark haired girl with pink highlights was saying to President Snow's receptionist.

"I'm sorry, but there is no opening today. You'll have to wait." the receptionist said once more. Birdie and her father walked past the desk and saw this

little encounter. They continued forward and didn't give the girl a second look. The girl saw them and glared, "I bet you kept their appointment, didn't you?"

She grabbed her bag and stormed out, pushing through the glass doors and onto the street. She grumbled and mumbled incoherent slanderous things about

the President and his bitch of a receptionist as she walked through the crowded street.

Birdie threw herself on her bed and then rolled over staring up at her ceiling. The dull gray of the ceiling made her sick and she quickly reached the remote on her

nightstand and the ceiling transformed into a galaxy full of stars. Birdie quickly twisted her sky blue hair into a messy bun and pulled clothes out of her drawer. Her phone

chirped and she looked down quickly to see who it was.

"Flora! Hey sunshine!" Birdie spoke into the phone. Trying to sound enthusiastic, she could hear her father filling his glass full of whiskey.

"Wanna go to a party?" Flora asked, her voice was slightly garbled, but Birdie heard her clearer.

"Yes. I'll get ready and then head over," she answered.

"Perf. See ya soon, sweets." Flora squealed and made a kissy noise. Birdie replicated the noise and set her phone back on the table and picked up her make up brush. She

dusted shimmery silver eye shadow on, the silver brought out the sparkles in her coal black eyes and matched perfectly with the diamonds in her hair. She let her hair down

and a feather tumbled to the floor. "Damn," she mumbled under her breath and picked it up. Birdie shimmied into a skin tight black dress and dusted silver powder across

her body, the silver looked a little odd against her caramel brown skin, but definitely tied everything together. She loaded her body with jewelry, slid into some magnificent

heels and waltzed down the stairs.

"And where the hell are you going?" Win slurred drunkenly. Birdie inhaled a deep breath and kept walking out the door.

"Out," she spat and she slammed the door behind her.

It took me long enough to get this out. I'm in my last year of school right now so life has been crazy! But, I'm going to try to update on a more regular basis. Love to all of you. And review please :) I love feedback!
