country heather (musings, riverbank, & horizon)

-.-

Out here in the country, when she's sitting at the edge of the riverbank with her feet splashing in the slightly murky water, surrounded by fields upon fields of heather, she can almost convince herself that everything's alright. Almost.

Staring at the array of colours dancing along the horizon, scarlet and amber and the faintest shade of violet, it occurs to her that she has nothing to keep her here, not like her cousins or even her siblings do.

Victoire has her engagement to Teddy. Rose has Scorpius. Roxanne's busy training to be a healer. Even Lily has her brothers to keep her here.

And she doesn't have anyone, not really, when her parents are always in their own little world, and Louis' still in school, and Victoire's consumed with wedding planning, and really, it's not like she has any idea what she wants to do with her life.

'What are you going to do? Gather up your musings and your fantasies and disappear?'

She thinks that that's exactly what she'll do, and, watching the quickly darkening sky, she wonders if Florida is nice this time of year.

By the time someone comes looking for her, she's long gone.
