'Devil Went Down to Georgia' belongs to Charlie Daniels Band
Note: Some of the lyrics have been changed to more of a Mario theme
Luigi was walking through the woods.
"What did I do wrong?" He thought to himself.
He finally stopped at the edge of a clearing and sat against a tree. He put his fiddle to his neck and began playing as hard as he could to try to let out his frustration. After ten minutes he stopped to take a break and heard foot steps that almost sounded like hooves. A creature stepped into the clearing. It was red with horns, sharp teeth and goat like legs.
"Hello, Luigi" it said.
"W…who or what are you?" Luigi asked.
"I have many names" the creature said "but my most common name is the Devil."
"Why are you here?" Luigi asked.
"For your soul" the Devil said "I have searched long and hard for a soul as pure as yours."
"No way" Luigi said "I'm not giving you my soul."
"I'll give you a chance to defend yourself" the Devil said. He looked at Luigi's fiddle, then he jumped on a stump and said "I see you play the fiddle; and I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too. If you care to take a dare I'll make a bet with you. Now you play a pretty good fiddle boy, but give the Devil his due. I'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul 'cause I think I'm better than you."
"Fine" Luigi said "it might be a sin, but I'll take your bet and you'll regret it, I'm the best fiddle player there's ever been."
"The judges at the university didn't seem to think so" the Devil said smiling.
Luigi was shocked and said "how did you know th- forget it, I'm about to prove them wrong."
The Devil opened a case and pulled out a golden fiddle and said "I'll start this show."
Fire flew from his finger tips as he rosined up his bow. He smiled and slowly pulled the bow across the strings and it made an evil hissing sound. Luigi jumped back as tree roots began rising from the ground and forming strange creatures with red glowing eyes and instruments. They began to play as the Devil raised his fiddle and started playing. He played very well, tauntingly staring at Luigi the whole time. After three minutes, he lowered his fiddle and smiled at Luigi as the tree roots sank back into the ground.
"You're pretty good" Luigi said "but sit down on that stump and let me show you how it's done."
The Devil sat down and crossed his arms.
Luigi smiled and sang "ghosts in the mansion, run boys run." He played the best he could "Bowser's in the castle with the rising sun." He played more "Koopa's in the pasta picking out meat." He played again "face it Devil, you've been beat."
He played as hard as he could for almost two minutes. He lowered his fiddle and smiled. The devil hung his head and sighed. He set the golden fiddle on the ground at Luigi's feet.
Luigi smiled and said "Devil just come back if you ever want to try again. I told you once, you son of a gun I'm the best there's ever been."
The Devil turned and began to walk away.
Luigi raised his fiddle and sang "ghosts in the mansion, run boys run." He played and sang "Bowser's in the castle with the rising sun." He played more "Koopa's in the pasta picking out meat." He played again "face it Devil, you've been beat."
He played until the Devil was out of sight. Luigi picked up the golden fiddle and began to play. He was amazed that it improved his playing. He played for almost fifteen minutes before finally heading back to the hotel. He walked into his hotel room and began playing.
Mario walked in and said "Wow, you sound even better than before. Where did you learn to play like that?"
Luigi smiled and told Mario the story. Meanwhile in another room another student from the university was writing a song.
"This is an A plus for sure" the student said "I knew if I followed that guy in the overalls into the forest I would get good inspiration for a song. Even a true story."
I normally don't post my stories until they are done, but I'm going to try posting one chapter at a time this time. I'll update weekly. Next time the Devil comes back for revenge. The next chapter will be longer.
