My mouth dropped open and Zareb's voice snapped into my mind, Shut your mouth. Your fangs are showing.

My mouth immediately shut with a soft clank. I couldn't believe it. Me? A vampire? It seemed nearly impossible. If I was a vampire wouldn't I remember being changed or seeing my parents with fangs? I ran my tongue over my teeth and inhaled sharply as my tongue grazed needle sharp canines. That was when I tasted the metallic taste of my own blood. And I enjoyed the taste.

'What's wrong with me?' I thought with a grimace.

Nothing's wrong with you. You're supposed to like blood. You are Ciel said. His voice was still soft and it made me feel better.

Should we tell her the rest of the news? Zareb asked his friend.

I think we should. Ciel replied.

Glimmer, you're not just a vampires, you're a vampire princess. And the guy who changed you, he was the one who sent us to protect you. And he's the King. That's one of the reasons he wanted us to protect you and he wants you to live with him. The main reason he changed you is because you reminded him of his real daughter that got killed when she was ten. Zareb explained.

I was speechless yet again. I wasn't just a vampire, I was a vampire princess? I looked to the front of the care where my mom was driving and my dad was in the passenger seat in front of me. I wondered if they knew.

No, they don't. They thought you were at your friend's house when it happened. Ciel replied.

Is that why whenever I see blood, I go slightly insane? I looked back up at Zareb and Ciel.

Yeah. And once you get hone, you're going to have to take one of our blood. Ciel said.

Ciel, she can have yours. Zareb said.

A thought occurred to me just then. 'Why, now all of a sudden did these two come to me?' I looked between the two boys who were still flying, just above the treetops.

We've always been here, watching you Glimmer. We just haven't made ourselves known. Ciel replied.

For some reason his voice made me want him. It wasn't seductive or anything, his voice. It was just soft, caring and flat out lovely.

Why now though? I asked. Why now have you guys made yourselves known?

I felt something like a shield go up around me and Ciel. I was only going to make myself known because I've wanted to tell you something. Since the King told me and Zareb that we had to protect you, I was going to keep that promise. The promise that the King forced us to take up saying that we had to protect you. And when I first saw you, Glimmer, something inside of me clicked into place. I was in ove with you from the time I met you. He told me and I was shocked into silence again.

II looked down at his hands. Were his hands made to fit in mine? Were out fingers made to fit into each other's? I smiled. I hoped that they were.

My attention turned back up to Ciel as he asked, Are you okay?

Yeah. I smiled again. I was just thinking.

About what? Ciel asked.

The fact that I hope that we're made for each other. I replied and a blush/ smile crept onto my face.

I do too. Ciel replied and that made me smile and blush even more. Then I felt the shield like thing drop from around me and Ciel.

Why did you want to protect me, Zareb? I asked.

Ciel is my really good friend and if the love of his life needed to be protected then I would gladly help him like he has helped me so many times. Zareb replied.

That's a good reason. Thank you guys. I said.

Plus the King told us to and it is not wise to go back on his word. Ciel nodded. I felt kind of bad for these two. The King wounded like he was harsh on them.

Don't feel bad for us, Glimmer. Now that we've been watching you, he can't harass us that much. Ciel said.

"Glimmer, do you want to stop at Perkins for dinner?" My mother asked, pulling my gaze away from the two boys.

"Sure." I replied and I looked back at Ciel and Zareb. What are you guys going to do?

Stay up in the trees, watching. We're going to make sure that no one tries to come and hurt you. Zareb replied. We turned into the Perkins parking lot. We pulled into a parking spot and my mom turned off the car. I got out of the car and looked into the trees that were in the distances and saw, just in time, as Ciel and Zareb settled themselves into two of them.

Be careful. I whispered into my head and then walked into the restaurant.
