Disclaimer: I do not own Doctor Who, no matter how hard I wish for it.?
Previously:
"Doctor, where is the TARDIS? Tell me!" The Doctor gave him a look that clearly said, are-you-still-insane? "Doctor we don't have time for this. We both know you're starting the regeneration progress. I won't steal your TARDIS just yet!" The Doctor clearly didn't believe him at all, but with another groan, he told the Master where the TARDIS was.
The Master, very un-Mastery at that, pulled one of those thin arms onto himself and wrapped his own arm around the other Time Lord's waist. With the Doctor leaning heavily on the Master's shoulder, they staggered together through the double oak doors. With an apology and a promise to see him again over his shoulder at Wilfred, they worked their way to the ship.
The TARDIS hummed with life quietly in the snug little corner her thief parked her in. All was peaceful, until that is, the doors at the end of the corridor burst open revealing two stumbling Time Lords. The TARDIS grew angry when she saw that the man who held the Doctor up was the Master. Her engines whirled furiously as the men slowly approached.
"Oh, shut it. You're acting as if you're 90 years old. You've had worse regenerations than this." The master muttered to the Doctor as he groaned again.
"If you want to switch places, do speak up now." The Doctor snapped at him as they reached the blue police box doors. The Master reached out a hand to push them open when an arch of electricity zapped him. The Master would later deny that an uncharacteristic girly scream escaped from him. No, of course, this was the man who would commit genocide just because he was bored.
"She shocked me! Filthy little-" the Master exclaimed.
"I do wonder why. You cannibalized her!" The Doctor groaned out in pain as another spasm raced through his double hearts. This process was advancing to quickly and he needed to get into the TARDIS now.
Once they finally got into the ship, the Master unceremoniously dropped the Doctor into the pilot seat and dashed to the controls. After a few moments of switching levers and pushing buttons, nothing happened.
"Isomorphic controls. Thought I did nothing after that little episode, did you?" The Doctor grinned and wrenched himself up from the chair to send them into space. They dematerialized and the Doctor sent them on their way.
"You left the brakes on!"
"Did I?"
"Yes! Did you think that this noise is normal?"
"Actually... I quite like it."
The Master threw his hands up in exasperation. Why are you even here?, a little part of him asked. Knock him out and figure out how to take out the isomorphic controls off. The Master fidgeted, and the Doctor noticed. But as his hands started to glow gold, he stored that information for later. The Master took a step back as the Doctor's regeneration energy glowed brighter.
"Don't do anything. I don't trust you." The Doctor gave him a look, just a look, that showed him how done he was with everything at that moment. Just before he begun to scream, the Doctor truly looked his age. Years upon years of tragedy and loneliness taking its toll.
The Master shrugged and crossed his arms over his black hoodie, nonchalant. But on the inside he was pained. Pained to see what they have both become. From the years that they were friends, having adventures and traveling the universe, to these dark days of war, hatred, and death, as enemies. And the Master was starting to see that every time they meet, it was he who was the problem. Every time the Doctor had tried to reason with him, calm him, to try and make him see sense. And every time, the Master would push him away, diving deeper into the pit of insanity. The never ending drum beat, the beating of a Time Lord's hearts.
Flames licked into life as the gold energy became to much for the materials in the control room. The Doctors features started to change. He became slightly shorter, his hair becoming darker and longer. His cheekbones and chin protruding more, the limbs becoming more lanky. With a final yell, the voice changed and the energy cut out.
"Blimey!" Hazel eyes sought out light brown. The Master just stood there scrutinizing the new man. He supposed it looked okay, still handsome enough, but the face was just a tad bit too young. But those deep hazel eyes spoke a different story.
"Oooooooo, I've got legs! Lovely, I love legs!... And arms! Hands... fingers! Face, eh, could be better, BUT!... The most important thing!" The Doctor runs up to the Master, who but this time is trying to keep his laughter in check (keyword, trying). "Am. I. Ginger." The Doctor's face is only a few inches away, close enough that the Master sees the millions of thoughts running behind his eyes.
"Nope." The Master chirps cheerfully.
"Ughhhhhhh, no! Now I have to wait for the next one! Or maybe I don't like ginger hair anymore," the muses before he exclaims, "No, I defiantly still want ginger!"
The TARDIS lurches and they are then painfully aware of the situation again.
"Oh look now, Doctor. You set fire to the insolent machine and now we're crashing!"
"Now it's my fault?"
"Yes!"
The TARDIS jerked violently and threw them upon the gridded floor. The Doctor sprung up quickly and flew across the controls, whilst the Master groaned and cursed at the machine.
"Oh hush, he doesn't mean any of that, now does he?" The Doctor reassured his beloved old girl. The TARDIS hummed warmly at the touch of her thief. The Master hauled himself up to where the Doctor was and thwacked him upside the head. Air hissed through the vents in anger.
"What are you, a cat? I hate cats." The Master uttered at the TARDIS.
"Oi! What was that for?" The Doctor asked, rubbing his sore spot.
"Doctor, were still crashing. And if you let me pilot her with you, this wouldn't be a problem!" The Master informed him as he struggled to stay upright in the dangerously swaying TARDIS.
"Never gonna happen," the Doctor pulled one last lever and exclaimed,"GERONIMO!" as the plumed back to the Earth.
"No, that's a horrible catch phrase! That's worse than Allons-y!"
That took an extraordinary long time to type that. I'll try not to take that long again.
Reviews are always welcome! How am I doing so far?
