Steve lay on a cot in a small 1940s room, wearing an SSR shirt that Natasha secretly loves him wearing. Through the security feeds she can see his eyes rapidly moving as if living a nightmare. It had been a week since he was found, a week since she had started wearing her rings again instead of in the chain around her neck, the chain that use to carry Steve's dog tags. She's alone in the security office, having kicked out the shield agents in it. It was the only way she could see him since Fury had forbade her from seeing him incase he woke up. She wanted to punch Fury in the face when he told her that. Steve was going to have a hard time adjusting to the time difference, she knew that. She wanted to help, but she was scared at the same time not that she would admit it to anyone but Steve. He didn't know what happened to her after he supposedly died, he didn't know about Red Room, her serum, anything she was forced to do. She was irrationally afraid that he would wake up and see the monster she had become and leave. If only she had returned to the United States after the war...

Flash back

Natasha sat at a bar that she and Steve had been too during the war, everyone was partying and celebrating the first anniversary of VE Day. The bar packed with service men and women all enjoying themselves. She sat at a corner table with a beer in front of her, and a picture of Steve and her the day after their wedding. Her eyes glisten with unshed tears, Peggy and Howard had left an hour ago but her she still sat.

She just sat there nursing her beer staring at the picture. She couldn't help but think back to the last time they had talked, well fought really, over the stupidest thing she could think of. They had fought over her last name of all things. She had wanted to keep her name if only to have people take her serous and not just as Captain America's wife. The next day they had bickered about it again, however she didn't push him since Bucky had just died, and they were going to finish off Hydra that day. She had been clearing the rest of the facility, when the runner Philips had sent found her. She had dropped everything and ran to the radio room, she ran through the door just as Steve had told Peggy to tell her that he was sorry and he loved her. Before he could finish his voice had cut out and Natasha's heart had died. Her world crumbled, she broke down in tears and slid down the back wall wracked with sobs. She barely noticed Peggy hugging her or that she was crying too.

A single tear had flowed down her cheek, and in her pocket sat a form from headquarters accepting her request. The form was addressed to the new Natasha Rogers. She snapped out of her brooding when a very drunk soldier dropped into the seat in front of her. "Hey beautiful, how about we get out of here and have some fun?" He slurred. She just shot him her worst glare, but her was too drunk to notice or care. " Go away you drunken oaf, I'm married" she grounded out.

"Listen bitch, I'm a god damn hero and I deserve some respect and some company, so come on" he drunkenly shouted. Natasha simply got up and punched him square in the face, where he proceeded to black out. A resounding thunk was heard by all as his head hit the table with enough force to spill her remaining beer. She simply drops a dollar on the table and leaves. Outside she is greeted by the night sky of West Berlin, and she starts to walk back to the base, her picture in her pocket. She decides to avoid the worse of the crowds and cuts through an alley behind the bar. She sees two men standing at the other end of the alley, and noticed two at the other end with a simple turn of her head. She puts her hand on her pistol, a colt M1911, a wedding gift from Bucky and the Howling Commandos, with her name engraved on the slide and Steve's and her initials surrounded by a heart on the grip. She told them she hated it, however it was in fact her favorite. " Well hello, little spider. It's time to come home" said the man to the right and in front of her. That both scared her and made her very angry. Only Steve could call her little spider with out physical harm, and scared her because it was said in Russian. She drew her pistol and before they could react the man who talked had his brains spread over the side of the building. As the men drew their weapons, the other one in from of her also met his end with a 45 caliber round to the throat. She was whipping around when she felt a prick on her arm. She could see a dart sticking out of her arm. Her vision started to fade, but she still managed to take another attacker out before her vision went black.

Present Day

She was snapped out of her memories when Coulson stuck his head into the room letting her know that Fury wanted her. Shaking off the memories she only nodded and left the room. She was in the elevator when the building alarms starred blaring, the only reason would be if the building was under attack, which she immediately dismissed, or Steve had woken up and figured out the ruse. She had hoped he did, since she had picked out the radio broadcast and knew he would figure it out. The doors opened and revealed Fury on the other side, he just glared at her, he must have known but she couldn't bring herself to care. He simply walked in and hit the garage button. He stared straight ahead, "Romanoff, I want you to head to the hellcat tier while I talk to Rogers."

Natasha couldn't believe her ears, and was about to respond. " Thats an order, Romanoff!" His tone offered no argument. She slightly bowed her head, of course he didn't know about her and Steve. He only people who did were the Howling Commandoes, Peggy Carter, Howard Stark and Phillips, all were either dead or in nursing homes. With a resigned sigh she nodded and walked to a parked SUV as several vehicles roared out of the garage to capture Steve.

A week later

She received the call that Barton was compromised and that she had to bring in Banner. She felt lost, her best friend was working for Loki. The only ray of hope was Steve had been called in too. Her heart had felt like it had been bleeding since Steve had been found and got worse when he had woken up and she wasn't allowed to see him. She had been back on the helecarrier for a day after getting Banner and was waiting on the flight deck waiting for Coulson and Steve's quinjet to land but she saw it coming in to land. The ramp was slowly lowering and her heart has pounding in her chest. Coulson exited with a grin plastered on his face, with Steve looking around behind him, a duffel bag on his shoulder. His bright blue eyes settled on her, and she was taken back on how much grief was buried in his eyes. A look of utter disbelief crossed his face and his duffel dropped to the ground, his mouth opening and closing like a fish. Coulson looked at him with concern, and followed his gaze. " That is Agent Rom..." He started before Steve interrupted. " Nat? Is that... How can that be?" Steve finally managed.

She looked at him with her signature smirk, " Hey honey, how was your nap?" Coulson's jaw hit the ground. Steve couldn't even respond as he started forward and Natasha met him halfway, as they hugged each other for the first time in 70 years. Tears were streaming down both of their faces. " Nat... Your alive... How?" He managed. " I'll tell you later love, but first kiss me damn it" she said tilting her head up as Steve bent down. And kiss her he did until they were both weak in the knees and breathing hard. " I love you" they both whispered. Coulson was shocked, in front of him stood his idol, and the only person he was afraid of, and not only were they hugging, which she would have hurt if someone tried it, but also kissed. It was too load for him to hear what they are saying but he noticed the huge smile on Natasha's face so it must have been good. His ear piece beeped, Fury telling him to bring Romanoff and Rogers to the command deck so they can get started.

As they walked through the ship, the smile never left Natasha's face nor did she take her hand out of Steve's. She ignored the weird looks and the gossip that was bound to be already spreading. She was happy, even with everything going on, she finally had her husband back.

AN: sorry if the format changed, I had to upload it differently than normal. Also I wanna say, thank you for all the ideas, I tried to incorporate as much as possible but please keep them coming. The reviews I received made me feel amazing because I thought no one would like it. I appreciate all the follows and the favorites! You guys are the best!
