Number 17 kind of follows the same idea as 16, as a response of sorts.
#11 Birthday – July 8 was a day she looked forward to more than any other, because she knew that she was allowed to shower him with as much affection and attention as she wanted, and he wouldn't stop her no matter how flustered he got.
#12 Blessing – When she first came to stay with him, Paulie's first course of action was to bring her to meet his best friend, his boss, and arguably the wisest man he knew; he was beyond relieved when Iceburg seemed to like Bonney almost as much as he did.
#13 Bias – His favorite time of day was sunset; the colors of the city and the ocean went spectacularly with the vibrant pink of the sky … though perhaps he was biased.
#14 Burning – In him, she found something that she had never encountered elsewhere—a heavy, unquenchable fire seated deep in her chest that only seemed to relent when she had him against her.
#15 Breathing – Paulie had never been plagued by insomnia, but sleep came very easily when all he had to listen to was her, inhaling and exhaling next to him.
#16 Breaking – His heart had broken once, not from a lover, but from the loss of friends—she promised him that he would never endure that again.
#17 Belief – And, despite his instincts telling him otherwise, he believed her.
#18 Balloon – Bonney was kinder than she let on; she simply showed it in odd ways, like mercilessly bullying a teenage boy until he gave a plain balloon back to the little girl he had taken it from.
#19 Balcony – Her favorite place to sit was the balcony of their apartment, and as Paulie realized this, he started to draw a balcony into the blueprints of the house he was designing just for her.
#20 Bane – Some days, he could still see the wild and dangerous spirit of a pirate in her and the relief he felt at the idea that he had saved her from something that could have killed her was immeasurable.
