An Opening word or two- I have been gone for so terribly long, I have no grand excuse for it nor was i creative enough to come up with any. I did however log in a few weeks ago out of simple curiosity and discovered to my surprise that you guys are still reading my stories. A few of you also sent me messages in regards to this story and while I'll admit I can't remember where I was going with it and I'm probably incredibly rusty, I figured I owed it to you fine folks to at least give it a shot. So, here it is a second chapter...

Tyler sat down at Harry's kitchen table about half an hour later trying to hold the tears at bay, sniffling.
"He's dead Harry," Tyler murmured softly. "My only brother is gone, taken down right in front of my two eyes." His lower lip began to tremble. "My brother was no saint but he didn't deserve to die." he whimpered, with his head in his hands. "What happened Tyler?" Harry questioned putting on coffee and sitting down next to Tyler taking his hand comfortingly.

Tyler sighed kissing Harry's knuckles. "My brother was a vampire." He admitted softly. "His sire left him early on so he never fully learned to control himself." He explained to his boyfriend tears welling up in his icy blue eyes. "He was killed by a hunter because he went over his feeding quota for the night. That is his crime."
Harry frowned slightly. "But that can't be right. A hunter only kills a vampire if they have done this more then once or if they refuse to comply." he said softly, confused.

"This hunter couldn't have been human, he had a crazed look about him. " I tried to stop the hunter, I stabbed him but it didn't stop him." Tyler got a panicked look on his face. "He didn't even try to talk to my brother, just killed him." Harry frowned and looked to him. "let me see the memory, I'll take it to an auror." he promised softly.

"Hunters aren't on the grid, only their direct contact knows exactly who their hunter is." Tyler replied with a sigh, he needed to keep his brothers reputation on the quiet side. "I didn't really see his face very well either, but he was blonde. Pale skin and long whitish blonde hair." he then added to put the seed of suspicion into Harry's thoughts about Draco. He knew Harry would try to think of any other logical answer before blaming Draco but it would get there.

Harry frowned slightly, white blond hair and pale skin? It couldn't be Draco could it? "I'm so sorry Tyler." he said softly, worried his new found friendship might be with a murderer. "I'm going to get home." Tyler leaned over giving Harry a kiss. "I need to call our mom."

Draco perched on the roof of the building across from Harry's apartment watching him comfort Tyler, a low growl rose in his throat as he watched Tyler's mouth, reading his lips. He was telling Harry bold faced lies.

Harry nodded and gently kissed Tyler back. "Let me know if you need anything okay? Oh, I wanted to tell you something but it can wait." he promised. "Are you sure ? You can tell me now." Tyler stood up but stayed where he was to listen.

Harry shook his head. "It's not the right time. I'll tell you another time okay?" he promised then stood up and smiled softly. "Be safe."

"I will." Tyler nodded heading out the front door. Hands in his pockets and his head down. Draco watched him go standing up from his crouched position he watched Harry for just another moment.

Harry frowned as he watched him go. He didn't think Draco was able to do something like that. Could he? he was a lot different from school, but he seemed nice, more human actually. "Why do I always attract the bad luck?" he asked tiredly and went up to the roof to try and think this through.

Draco frowned getting ready to jump over to the building and climb up to the roof to talk to Harry, Before he could get anywhere he was tackled to the gravel covered roof. "You killed my brother Hunter, and I'm going to kill you." Tyler snarled at Draco. "You wish." Draco spat back flipping Tyler over top of him with his feet before bouncing up to a standing position as Tyler yelped in pain. "I don't want to hurt you Tyler." Draco placed a boot on his chest. " I offered your brother the chance to come willingly, he resisted. You know as well as I, he has a rap sheet ten miles long."

"You murdered him you Monster!" Tyler exclaimed swinging at Draco making contact with his jaw before the ended up in an all out brawl rolling around on the roof top swearing and throwing kicks and punches. "You aren't going to win this fight." Draco growled pinning Tyler back against the wall around the edge of the roof. "I really, really don't want to kill you." He shook his head not loosening his grip.

"Bullshit." Tyler struggled against Draco's hold "You'd love nothing more than to have my body in a cooler next to my brothers in the morgue." He hissed, "So you can schmooze it up with my boyfriend." Draco narrowed his eyes dangerously before punching Tyler squarely in the jaw, Draco then turned to walk away.

"This doesn't end until one of us is dead Hunter." Tyler growled throwing himself at the blonde stabbing his knife into Draco's arm as they plummeted off the edge of the roof. Harry looked over hearing something just in time to see a large writhing shadow fall from the building.

He bolted downstairs to where he had seen them fall but saw no one, curiously he walked down the sidewalk finally finding a bloody patch on the cement and a blood trail leading into an alley where it simply stopped suddenly. There was a strong feeling of magic in the alley though. Even more curious, Harry used a fire escape and headed up to the roof looking around the moon came out from behind the clouds lighting the scene, blood spattered the area and there were cracks and broken brick everywhere. It was obvious there had been a fight, but a fight between what? Harry wasn't sure he wanted to know the answer.

With a sigh Harry made his way back to his apartment and sank down into the couch rubbing his temples somehow he knew whatever had happened... Draco had been involved.

Draco had managed to lose Tyler in he alley by pushing him into a dumpster and had made it back to his church loft home leaving a trail of blood across the stone floor, he opened his potions chest looking at the empty row of vials, with a growl he slammed the lid shut. Tyler had dug a blade into his leg and his arm and he was losing a fair bit of blood. He couldn't risk going back to Harry's and he didn't have the energy to get anywhere as it was.

Draco finally lay down on his mattress trying to keep the blood off the bed. The room began to swim around him before he passed out not waking until a few days later when his body was finally able to heal itself.
For several more days Draco stayed within the confines of the church regaining his strength, Finally he was able to make it out of his loft and into the bustling little town nearby, He waved politely at the people in the streets stopping to say hello to a few he knew before continuing down a dark dingy alley.

He stopped in front of an ancient broken soda machine and looked around cautiously before sticking a coin into the machine, after a moment he was able to open it to a hidden little market place behind it.

The people here, were not so friendly to him giving him dirty looks and hisses as he passed. "What are you doing here Hunter? Here to kill again?" One of the townspeople yelled at him. "Oh I forgot, you're a freak just like us!"
"Yeah how does it feel knowing you make a living killing your own kind?!" Another shouted.

Draco sighed shaking his head, raising a middle finger at them both he continued on to the shop at the very end and opened the door walking in. The shop owner took a look at him and immediately grabbed a paper bag filling it. "You've been away too long." She murmured handing Draco the bag as he laid cash on the counter. "Been busy." He murmured taking the bag carefully.

"You're killing yourself Hunter, you know this?" The keeper asked running a thumb along Draco's pale jaw. "To keep him safe I will sacrifice all." Draco replied pulling away from the woman he quickly left the store.

The hunter headed straight to Harry's staying hidden in the shadows of the quickly sinking sun. He managed to climb atop the building across the street in the dark as storm clouds covered the moon.

Draco sat quietly on the edge of the roof with his feet dangling watching Harry's apartment, downing a few of the vials in his bag he finally began to feel a bit better. A flash of lightening flashed across the sky behind him and thunder shook the very earth, before it began pouring rain in buckets. Draco quickly becoming soaked to the bone, crossed over to Harry's building sitting on the fire escape peering in looking like a drowned kitten.

Harry paced around the room, feeling extremely anxious and bit his lip then jumped when the lightning flashed and glanced over surprised. He bit his lip then opened the window to the fire escape. "Draco ?" He asked hopefully. "Do you have many guest who visit your fire escape?" Draco asked curiously sliding through the window into the house, he went to stand in the kitchen so he wouldn't drip all over the carpet .

Harry chuckled and shook his head. "No you're the only one. Are you okay?" He asked worried. "I haven't seen you in over a week."

"I'm going to be just fine." Draco promised as he spelled his clothes dry so he could sit on the couch. "I haven't been well the past few days."

Harry frowned and summoned his kit. "What happened?" He asked worried.

"Knife to the leg and arm." Draco replied with a shrug as he stretched out comfortably on the couch. "Its healing just fine. " he promised.

Harry bit his lip."let me check for my own piece of mind?" He asked softly.

Draco smirked and shimmied his pants down to his knees so that Harry could see the scabbed over gash running from his hip diagonally to his inner thigh. "Have a look at whatever you'd like." He offered flirtatiously holding out his arm as well at the shiny scar running down his forearm.

Harry blushed and cleared his throat. "I have a boyfriend Draco, this is a strictly doctor to patient relationship." He stated not sounding to sure even to himself.

"My apologies healer, I will try to stay within my appropriate limits for now on." Draco smirked pulling his pants back up. "Draco I didn't mean..." Harry shook his head with a sigh, unsure of what he did mean.

"No , No its okay." Draco laughed holding his hands up in surrender. "A guy knows when he has been friend zoned."

Harry couldn't help but laugh sitting down in the chair. "Are you boozing out of paper bags now?" he questioned Draco teasingly a moment later noticing the paper bag in his jacket pocket. "Not exactly." The blond smiled forcefully, pushing the bag down into his pocket.

Harry bit his lip wanting to know what was in the bag but also knowing it would be best not to push it.

"This boyfriend of yours, Tell me about him." Draco coaxed leaning forward in interest.

"His name is Tyler," Harry blushed again. "He's a few years older than us, about your height. He's a nice guy."

Draco smirked with a shake of his head. "But you don't love him." he chuckled.

"What do you mean?" Harry asked almost offended in his tone. "Of course I do."

Draco sighed with a frown. "But you don't, if you were in love with him you would..." He trailed off as his pocket began to ring. He pulled out what looked almost like a muggle cell phone and read the message he had just received. He bolted to his feet with wide eyes. "I have to go." He announced "I'm sorry I have to go." He headed to the fire escape ignoring Harry's attempts to ask him what was wrong.

"I'll tell you everything one day but not now." Draco finally replied before disappearing leaving behind a strange red mist that held the same feeling of magic as he alley had that night Harry had followed the blood trail.

Harry watched the spot Draco had disappeared blankly, lost in his thoughts. Draco on the other hand had already reappeared on another continent in the city of New York, he read the message from his boss again. 'code 151. NY requesting immediate assistance. URGENT. 40.7577 N 73.9857 W'

As Draco headed toward the location the distress call had been sent from he reached for another vial from his paper bag and realized it wasn't in his pocket anymore. Instead Harry was picking it up off the floor fighting with himself wanting to see what was inside but knowing Draco hadn't wanted him to know.

Finally he carried the bag over to the table for when Draco came back again, but before he could sit it down the bottom of the rain soaked bag ripped spilling out a dozen or so vials of crimson fluid. Harry picked one up and uncorked it giving it a sniff. "Blood." He whispered aloud to himself. "Draco isn't human..."
