Part 2
You both felt awkward. It wasn't that you both hadn't seen each other in awhile, you saw each other for exactly two minutes yesterday, but it was more of the fact that the last time you both sat on your couch was when you both made love on it.
It started out rough, you both barely could make it through the doorway before her arms started to feel your skin under the flimsy fabric of your blouse. It was heavy and quick, lips exploring in unison as sporadic breaths filled the air with moans of yes' and encouragements for advancing further. Clothes were pushed aside and you could feel her breath trailing from the tip of your earlobe and down your neck. You weren't sure who's moans they were the moment her teeth grazed lightly on your neck. The heat you felt inside, and the hot sweat beading down your skin did not die down from the chilly air that filtered through your loft. Before you could moan her name once again, her lips pressed onto yours and melded perfectly into the two-pieced puzzle. You could feel the tip of her tongue press against yours and all you wanted to do was melt in her arms.
It happened quickly and you didn't know how you both made it to your couch completely nude. You could see in the corner of your eye that the clothes were now being worn graciously by the furniture encircling your living room.
The tips of her breasts leaned against yours as her body inched closer to you. You felt a bit uneasy. You were well aware that this was expected tonight, but you weren't expecting her to be taking control. It was new for you, especially with her, the woman who felt so naive in this new world she had accepted on herself. You wanted to ask her if everything was okay, but she answered your unspoken words with a glint of tenderness in her eyes as she pulled off your glasses and pressed herself onto you, catching your lips before you could even inhale. She transferred this lurking energy within you with that kiss, ceasing all forms of anxiety that clouded your mind. As the kiss deepened you could feel her fingertips trail the dips of your figure, then hovering a bare hand over your breast before cupping it in her palm. She tenderly squeezed it, then rolled the tips of your nipple between her fingers. Every touch seared your skin in claim over you; you were pretty sure that you had melted a long time ago and your being was sent off and consumed by the galaxies amongst the stars.
You were lost the moment she pulled back from you trying to catch her breath for a few seconds. Her hair was ruffled and you noticed her eyebrow was furrowed, showing faint creases along her forehead. Did you do something wrong?
" Are you okay?" you said in concern as you tried to prop yourself up on the couch, but she pressed her arm on your shoulder and softly pushed you down.
She nodded her head and inhaled slowly as you watched her weight lift off and on against you, " I'm fine...I just want to take my time with you."
You watched the blonde move further away from you. She trailed kisses down your neck and the junctures between your clavicle. The blonde took her time with your breasts, she kissed and brushed her fingers against them. Not once did you stop the beautiful tune that escaped your lips.
She continued further down until she nestled herself comfortably by your legs. It only took a few ministrations of your thighs before they rebelled against you and loosened up easily. You wanted to reach over and kiss the faint smirk away from her face. You hated that your body effortlessly waved the white flag and gave in to the temptations of her touch.
You watched her closely, wondering what her next move was. She didn't hesitate like the many times before; the woman inhaled the sweet scent of your wetness before letting her tongue press against your folds. You could feel two fingers brush against you and push back your labia, revealing the small nub. The blonde continued to circle her tongue around it, and all you wanted to do was let your hand pull against her hair and push her down to try and assuage the burning need. She was moving excruciatingly slow and you weren't sure you could hold it in any longer. She hadn't even touched you yet, and you were on the brink of a release.
She looked at you for a brief moment in notice of your frustrated breaths and tightened thighs. You waited for the smirk to grace her swollen lips, but all she gave you was a look. A look that wasn't lust this time. Her blue eyes glowed, and reflected something you've never seen before: trust, softness, and love. To you, this was what an angel looked like.
You wanted to call for her and have her hold you close as she flew you to heaven. She seemed so far away from you, but before anything could be said, two fingers entered you slowly as your initial words were replaced by moans of euphoria. You could feel her inside you as she added another digit.
You watched her from afar, as her head dipped down and started to languidly let her tongue circle around your swollen nub.
Seconds moved faster and minutes grew shorter.
And all you could do was ride along the path towards your goal. You both moaned in tandem and you didn't notice up until then that your hips were bucking against her hand. You could feel her fingers press against your walls eliciting successions of moans after moans coming from you. You were on the precipice, ready to let go.
Your body shook against her as she steadied you with kisses and soft caresses. You let yourself ride on the waves of ecstasy, closing your eyes and arching your back. The sounds of your moans in tandem to the pulse of your release. You saw the stars and the light of the universe ready to take you and engulf you whole.
You were in paradise. Your heart was pumping hard against your chest, but then it started to decrescendo slowly into a familiar rhythm as the zephyrs of the air amongst the atmosphere calmed you into a blissful void.
A few minutes passed as the weight lightly pressed upon you once again and whispered in your ear. You wanted to smile at the three words to come, you were expecting it, as you felt her lips ghost against your skin. You felt the soft breath pause briefly.
" I treasure every moment with you Holly Stewart."
Those words swept you away, somewhere far from this simple loft, off of this weathered couch, and away from the innocent evils the world possessed. It led you to a place that was white and sinless, just the two of you. Alone, but with each other as the beautiful words lingered in the backdrop of your own world that you shared.
It was silent for a few minutes, you watched as Gail stroked Sophie's hair.
You glanced at your digital clock nestled in the corner by your television.
0 hours…
5 minutes…
300 seconds...
You wanted to demand questions from the blonde right away, but refrained from doing so since there was an unexpected houseguest in your presence. As the kind keeper of the house you offered a beverage, first to Gail and then to Sophie, but Gail politely declined for the both of them. So you sat down and continued to cross your arms playing with the crochet patterns of your beige cardigan. Your fingers habitually found the corners of your glasses as you pushed them up on the bridge of your nose. You've been waiting for a day, so you've grown a solid backbone of patience, waiting a little bit longer for the blonde woman to speak was nothing you couldn't handle. You watched as Sophie fell asleep in her arms before the woman spoke.
" Sophie is adorable isn't she." You heard her whisper as blue eyes softened overlooking the sleeping barely noticed her pale arms tighten around the sleeping child who nestled further into her neck like a cherub resting amongst the billowy clouds. It was a beautiful sight, but in the far corners of your mind where the shadows lay and the webs linger, a thought laid dormant with a flickering ember of jealousy. It wasn't you in her arms and sleeping softly, listening to the familiar rhythm of your lover's heart under a silent ear. It wasn't you sharing the warmth of your bodies in close contact. It wasn't you sharing that intimacy you once had, and may not ever have anymore. Were you replaced already? " I'm in the process of adopting her..." Her words trailed off into the distance as you fell into a chasm of bewilderment.
Was she out of her mind? " Did you think this through?"
" Of course I did Holly. I've been thinking about this for weeks. It's a very long and complicated process and I certainly don't want to get my hopes up. "
" Then why did you bring her here?"
" I wanted you to meet her."
You barely could hang onto the scoff before you spoke again. " Were you expecting me to gladly welcome her in my arms and willingly make this whole thing work out Gail? That's not how life works. That's not how I work." You stressed to her. It was stupid, it was rash, and it was nearly infuriating. This was unbelievable.
You saw the familiar fleeting frenzy in her eyes. You knew those eyes to well, how they looked back and forth avoiding your gaze before you would see her get up and leave without a word. You took a long breath and tried to calm yourself and formulate rational words so it wouldn't scare the woman you had been waiting for all day, away from you.
" Gail wait." You paused. "It's just, I see this as you making a big irrational decision right after you walked out on me."
She looked at you with tears in her eyes, " I thought very long and very hard about this Holly. It doesn't make any sense, I know that." She paused seeing the little girl stir in her arms. She continued in only a whisper, "...except it makes absolute sense, and it feels like just the right thing to do." Her words laced with the utmost sincerity. You could see it in her eyes, and you could tell by the tone of her voice. She had already made her decision and there was no going back, but you tried to reason with her.
You began to list the options, " There's family, adoption companies, foster care…"
" I know that. At least spare the thought that I was responsible enough to actually do that before making a decision of adopting her myself."
" Okay…" were all the words you could muster right now.
You had this day planned on in your head before she came here. You had 24 hours to go through various scenarios and possible conversations that could come into fruition. It was supposed to be a day where you both would talk things out and magically make things better, but that was too good to be true. This right here was not what you were expecting. It didn't even cross your thick, intellectual skull. Out of all things that could happen, this was probably the last situation you wanted to be in.
All you wanted to do right now was get up and start cleaning. Go to your kitchen and fill the brim of your sink with soapy suds of foam. You wanted to clean away this conversation, and rid the spoken words from your head. You sighed. Life was complicated and everyone, including you, weren't gods. You couldn't control the outcome, but only try and steer it so you wouldn't crash and burn.
" Holly," Gail called out. You looked towards your front door, where Gail stood holding Sophie in her arms.
" I'll just go…" Gail already prepared herself for rejection in the early hours of last night. She didn't drink alcohol, it was surprising, even to her, but she sat in her room playing a mixtape Holly gave to her on a rainy day. She sat and she listened. And she thought about what she wanted and the consequences. Gail was ready to take a step. She wanted to do this even if it hurt her that her lover wouldn't stand by her.
She waited for you to get up and properly say goodbye.
You walked up to her still in a daze and opened the door, watching her walk out.
"Gail" you called out. She turned around and looked at you, not with hurt and rejection in her eyes, but with what looked like hope behind the oceans of her eyes.
" I still love you." You paused briefly, contemplating whether or not you wanted to run up to her and pull her into an embrace. But you didn't. "This isn't goodbye, it's only until." You let the words drift off in the air, hoping that she understood that it wasn't over.
You let your eyes linger on hers as you noticed a sign of agreement in her eyes. She turned to walk away, holding the sleeping girl in her arms. You didn't close the door until the two were out of your sight.
This wasn't the end, but for now, you and her needed time.
Author's Note: I wish this could've happened since it's a bit more hopeful. I dunno, your opinion. Sorry for mistakes.
