Disclaimer: I don't own the characters not the setting

Exiting the elevator, Keima turned into the left corridor and walked till he reached the third door which had the number "1013" on its front.

In one hand was a large bento box wrapped in a sky blue cloth. On the other was a key card. With how engrossed either of the two residents could get in their worlds, this was basically needed or he may never be let in. Still, as was courtesy, he pressed the doorbell button and a faint jingle could be heard from the other side of the door.

It took a minute for anything to happen before he heard a light pitter patter of approaching footsteps. There was a click and the door opened a sliver for a single bright eye to peek out. After a moment, the door then was swung opened by a purple haired girl who could easily be a grade schooler. This was emphasized by the long sleeved sweater she was wearing which was obviously too large for her to the point that the sleeves didn't even reach her hands.

"Good morning, Minerva," greeted Keima. The goddess returned his greeting with a silent nod before rushing back into the apartment. Keima, himself, took his time as he removed his shoes by the doorway

The apartment was actually quite big for one person even two. There was enough space to fit both a dining room and a living room. However, what should have been a spacey studio apartment felt cramped as numerous books lined the shelves as well as the floor. There were even a few piles in the entranceway.

Keima made his way inside slowly, careful not to knock over any of the books. He knew their owner wouldn't appreciate it. The books being everywhere were not due to lack of care but most likely their owner had just gone on another reading frenzy and so had left them there for the moment when she was done.

In the living room, Minerva was sitting on the sofa and had her head deep into a book that looked to be just as big as she was. He'd have been worried she'd have toppled over from the weight she looked like could hold it up just fine with no difficulites. The Capturing God instead went straight to the bedroom whose door was slightly open ajar.

In the bedroom, the single one person bed was empty; the blanket haphazardly strewn across the floor. Inside, fierce clicking sounds could be heard as a woman with long black hair tied into a ponytail by a pink ribbon was typing furiously on a keyboard. She was wearing light pajamas , making it clear she went straight for her desk the moment she woke up. She was typing so fast it was a legitimate concern that the keyboard could actually break. Around her numerous crumpled balls of paper laid on the floor as well as stacks of books and various documents within folders.

Keima just sighed at the sight. When Shiori got like this, she was basically in another world at that point. As someone who also didn't like being disturbed when he was in the zone for gaming, he would respect her and give her some space for now.

Turning around, he walked to the kitchen table to place the bento Tsukiyo had made him bring for her friend. He would have thought the blonde was too worrying but a quick check for a drink in the fridge showed it to be basically empty of food.

...Well, for people like Keima and Shiori, their other world was sustenance enough anyways. Still, he'd at least try to get her to eat when he was done with the review.

Speaking of which,

"Minerva, let's begin while Shiori is still working." said Keima to which the purple haired goddess looked up from her book and replied a soft "Yes."

Among the goddesses, each one had a specialty or a preference when it came to their abilities. Vulcan liked manipulating objects with telekinesis to supplement what her weak body couldn't do. Mars being the goddess of war obviously trained in offensive magic. Apollo specialized in hymns and dances that healed and foretold the future. Mercury had her own niche selection. Diana was the least specialized but made up for it with the sharpest mind.

For Minerva, it was support magic particularly projections, to create things out of what seemed to be nothing. She also had an amazing memory but that just came from her own person. In fact, this played a vital role in her projections as the images would often come from her crystal clear memories. This was why of all the goddesses, she was the only one who could interact and play with her host seperately from their body, a feeling some of the goddesses couldn't help but envy. Vulcan can do so as well though it is only through her proxy rather than her actual self. It is also just coincidence then that both of their hosts were close friends.

It was the combination of her encyclopedic knowledge of the world he needed to know more about along with her projection ability that Keima had begun to have "lessons" with Minerva on the history and the workings of the three realms, Earth, Heaven, and Hell. He had thought it was a good opportunity to gain some knowledge on the world he had been forcibly thrust upon.

"..And that is what happened in the 3rd Heillic War between the people."

Closing his notebook, Keima sighed. Just why did all of these wars just end up with Elsie destroying everything in the end. You'd think after the first thirty times they'd have just went straight to awakening her and skipping all the previous skirmishes. Really, it made all his efforts back then seemed trivial in comparison with it becoming just another episode of the "Let's destroy everything with the final weapon" show.

Still, it hadn't been totally useless information. One of the advantages of having to deal with demons was that the average demon could live long enough that you could check any point of Hell's history and you couldn't rule out the possibility of them appearing. Demons didn't die after all. They could be killed but their bodies weren't as weak as humans to rot away.

While normally looking over thousands of years of history would be impossible for even someone like him, he had an ally before him who had an encyclopedic knowledge of all three realms. Well, besides the years when she had been sealed but it just took a few old textbooks from a certain devil to have her caught up to speed.

In the living room, the goddess Minerva stood before him on a podium with a large book before her. She was also holding a pointer as what would most teachers would use. Keima was currently sitting on the sofa as he listened to another of Minerva's lessons. The girl actually had a knack for distilling information which she combined with images using her projection ability. Having her was like unlocking the glossary section of a game where you could look up all the terms a game would would have.

"Um...do you have anything else you want to go through?" she asked lowering her pointer.

Keima nodded. He needed to confirm something. "Let's go over souls again."

His only complaint with her was that she was too efficient in a sense. While she did know have a lot of information on many subjects, she had a habit of needing to repeat what he had already knew. She'd just give the whole lexture again rather than go to a specific part, He supposed she had just found it easier to memorize things in bulk rather than individually. He couldn't blame her seeing how young she was but as someone who also had a near perfect memory he found it hard to go through things he already knew.

It was like how after a game gives you a five minute long explanation for a mechanic or story element and asks you "Do you got that?" and you just needed the last part again (or you just accidentally pressed no), it repeated everything. Really, where was the skip button where you needed it. Although it was even more annoying when he'd miss important information if he just so happened to skip a long exposition dump that he didn't feel like reading so he had always forced himself to get through it no matter how boring.

Well, it would be rude to the goddess to tell her to hurry up. He had tried to do so once but then she got confused and tongue tied which led to her to start to cry and that just led to very dangerous repercussions in the women in his life who were also very dangerous.

-And so Minerva began her explanation:

For Heaven and Hades, souls were an important source of energy.

When a baby body is being formed within a womb, it is immediately filled with a soul. Most of the time this is just a soul that had been reincarnated but on occasion a new soul is formed by the body. Before a person is born, a soul is immediately dyed in the makeup of the realm it resides in. This means that there are three kinds of souls, souls of heaven, souls of hades, and souls of the human realm. This make-up would gurantee the psiology of the person they would grow up as.

When a human dies, no matter the length of their lifespan or their method of death, their soul is inexplicably transferred to hell where they are then purified. Afterwhich, these purified souls are sent up to heaven where they are distributed to the human world through reincarnation.

How energy is gathered differed between Heaven and Hades is different.

For Hades who purify the evil from the souls of humans, energy is gained from extracting the sins of the humans. This process could be compared to how nuclear power plants use the hear gained from splitting atoms to generate power. This wickedness is then used as nourishment by demons. In the past, Demons would even raise wicked humans within hell as soul farms.

For Heaven, who receives souls that are already pure and have thus nothing to seperate with, they could just use the pure energy a soul naturally gives off, much like how solar power works. However, this period when a purified soul gives off excessive energy does not last too long and so have to eventually be sent back into the human world.

Any other methods can not be done. This is due to the odd make-up of human souls which give them a unique "density". For reasons unknown, souls that were heavy with sin would naturally flow to Hades while the then purified would would flow to Heaven. The easiest comparison is to compare it ot a ballon full of helium. If the balloon had weight it would sink to the ground while removing those weights would cause it to fly up to the sky. Eventually, the helium would run out and it would come back to earth. However, contrary to popular belief, it was not like Hell was underground and Heaven was up in the sky, they were in different realms so the balloon comparison wasn't entirely accurate. Some human souls even don't flow at all and stay on Earth and thus had to be caught by denizens of Hell first.

It had been theorized that this movement was due to the lack of magic found within the human realm. The atmosphere in Heaven and Hades were both brimming with their own respective kind of magical energy which new souls would absorb and allowed the people of those two realms to use their magic with ease. Souls full of Heavenly magical energy would have bodies that grew wings and naturally absorbed the magical energy around their head which was what a halo full of demonic magical energy would grow horns, third eyes, wings, and other appendages and just have stronger physical make-up. Another difference was that these magical energies were also fed by love and negative emotions respectively.

These magical energies also kept their residents anchored to their respective realms and allowed them to live much longer than humans to the point where if there was enough magical energy, the person would continue to live even if all that was left of their body was a skeleton. At most when killed, they would be turned into a spirit that could be resurrected into a new body where they would attain their sense of self and memories.

It can then be thought that human souls which aren't filled with magical energy due to the non-magical climate of the human realm could be seen as "hollow" and so easily move between realms unlike those souls of Heaven and Hell. This Hollowness would explain why gaps in the heart would appear in a human soul and allow Devil Souls and Heavenly Souls could theoretically reside and even take over human souls.

There is also an argument that the lack of magical energy makes it easier for new human souls to be created. Compared to human souls, it has been theorized that a new soul to be formed in Heaven or Hades would take considerably longer due to needing to first absorb the magic of the realm.

Whatever the case, the reincarnation of Human Souls was the best source of energy for both magical realms due to it's make-up and how frequently new one are created compared to those of Heaven and Hell

This balance is the reason for the needed cooperation between the three realms in order for Heaven and Hades to continue using energy but that did not guarantee full cooperation. Wars had been fought between and within Heaven and Hades in trying to shift this cycle to benefit certain people more.

One such war caused the poisoning of the entire surface of Hades which had an effect on the magical atmosphere of the realm. Due to this poison, no new souls could form due to the poison greatly hindering the creation of a soul. During the war, all demon spirits that were to be reincarnated had been destroyed or even used as weapons which would cause great magical explosions at the cost of the soul itself. These two factors meant that no new children could be born in Hades.

New Hell addressed this problem by the creation of New devils, Human Souls within Devil Bodies. They were much weaker than the Old Devils and didn't have any other extra lacked the ability to fly and had a hard time using magic old devils could. They could also only be bron into female bodies to simulate a mother's womb which allowed the human soul to acclimate to Hades' climate easier. This led to New Hell adopting a more technological approach to development to make it easier for the New Devils to live as well as Life care Institutes to raise the girls that needed to fill Hell once more.

"A..Ano...!"

Suddenly, a voice broke through the exposition dump. Minerva and Kiema turned to the voice. Shinomiya Shiori stood there with a large stack of papers.

"Keima-kun...here is today's." She then dropped the stack on Keima's lap which he held barely held together. Taking the first few pages into his hands, he nodded as he started reading through them.

"I'll do so then. In the mean time, go eat the food Tsukiyo brought. We'll end here, Minerva."

As Keima got into his reading, Goddess and goddess host made their way to the dining area to eat the Bento brought for her. It contained enough for two meals so Shiori just had to provide her own dinner later. Even so, it was a big help as Shiori would often forget to stock up on food or even eat meals and she was thankful that Tsukiyo looked after her as such.

She unqrapped the Bento to reveal three layers. The top one was full of rice with the word "enjoy" spelled out on top with Nori. The next one was full of different viands such as cherry tomatoes, vegetables cut to cute shapes, and different meats divided by cardboard. The last one had onigiri which were designed to resemble Minerva also using Nori.

Even though she had seen a sight like this numerous times, Minerva's eyes still lit up at the cute design. She reached to grab one but her hand was swatted away. "Aw."

"Minerva, hold on. You haven't washed your hands yet." Shiori chided the goddess. "Let me set the table first."

Minerva just nodded as she sat at the table, her legs swinging.

Unlike the other goddesses, Minerva could actually eat without needing to possess her host. At the beginning, Shiori had secretly enjoyed the idea that, unlike the others, she could eat with the goddess within her face to face however after a month it soon became clear there was a problem. Whatever Minerva ate still transferred to Shiori which meant that she was basically eating for two people.

Compared to Heaven who at the time of the Goddesses only had fruits to eat, the human world was filled with various foods and sweets that could provide more flavors than any fruit could. For the other goddesses, controlling their desire to go out and try food wasn't a problem. Vulcan had great self restraint (unless it involved attacking a certain otomegane). Apollo respected Kanon's need to be strict with her die (even if she sometimes broke it). Mars regularly worked out. Mercury preferred sleeping than any other snacks. Diana had just gotten used to it as she had been awake the longest.

Minerva had no restraint as she could act independent from her host. Her young mindset was very weak to modern sweets and it wasn't odd to find her wanting to try some new candy or cake. It didn't help that Shiori also had the most sedimentary lifestyle among the goddess hosts so she couldn't just sweat it off.

It only took Shiori a few months to realize that she was steadily gaining weight even if she didn't eat much and would even skip meals if she was too engrossed in reading or writing. It only took her a moment to find the reason by taking a glance at her rooms trash to find piles and piles of candy wrappers.

A reckoning happened and Shiori became much stricter with what and when when Minerva could eat.

That didn't mean she stopped eating with the Goddess though. She wouldn't trade the company of her friend with any weight loss.

When they were done eating and fixing the table, Keima had also finished his reading and so sat across Shiori who looked at him expectantly.

"So," Keima adjusted his glasses. "which do you want me start with?"

"The first one," replied the nervous Shiori.

"Right. That was the outline for the anime adaptation of Breaking Hearts two."

"Keima-san...has played it...yes?"

"Of course. As someone who finished it, I found what you wrote satisfactory for what it was: an anime based on a galge. These will always have problems as harem galges like those don't have a good overarching story after player leaves the common route. The anime then either have to make simpler and digest versions of each member's routes or just go with the "main" heroine's route. Either way, most fans are normally left unsatisfied. I see for the anime you extended the common route and just mixed in aspects of the different heroine routes. This is like how I said but having the climax of the common route be the one at the ending gave it a better sense of narrative"

"Yes," nodded Shiori. "While the director will still have final say on the matter, I hoped to do the best I could to convey the story. I followed Keima-san's advice: that the most important part were the heroines and I found it is only in the common route that all the heroines are featured."

Keima nodded. Breaking Hearts Two was the type of galge where once you went into a girl's route practically everyone else disappeared. He would admit though that the main routes weren't too interesting and were typical for the archetypes of the heroines in the game. This wasn't the first time Shiori had come to him about a game adaptation and even borrowed his copy to play it.

She didn't enjoy his games as much as he would have but he respected that she at least finished them. He had never been interested in the anime of the games he played so being able to overlook how the game was adapted was an interesting process in itself anyways.

"Well, let's go over some points I thought needed addressing. For one thing, Chizuru is not a true tsundere so she shouldn't act like this in the third episode."

Meanwhile, as Keima and Shiori went over her outline, Minerva left to find some sweets.

From what the goddess knew, her host had what she called a freelancing job where she'd write anything she could get her hands on. Newspaper articles, short stories for anthologies, scripts, copy writing, poems, anything she could get her hands on.

Whenever she did though, without exception, she'd always show it to Katsuragi Keima and he'd always respond without fail. Sometimes they'd argue and would even storm off in a huff but they'd always continue this tradition anyways. For Shiori, she always wanted him to be the first to read her stories.

As interesting as that was what was important though was that Shiori as well as Katsuragi Keima were normally occupied during this period. This meant Minerva could sneak a snack. Shiori was surprisingly strict about her snacking after she found out she had been gaining weight but Minerva just couldn't help herself to the sweets of the human world.

First she waited an hour to make sure they were really engrossed. Then the tiny goddess sneaked past both of them to get to the fridge which held some sweets. She knew there was still an extra slice of cake from the last time they visited the cafe...

"Minerva!"

"Aw!" Minerva jumped startled. Was she found out?

She turned to see Shiori and Katsuragi Keima standing next to each other. For some reason, Shiori was blushing (Keima as well to a lesser extent). She held out a bill.

"Minerva, can you check if my copies are done printing? You could stay at the cafe nearby the printing shop if it takes long. I need to...consult with Keima-san about another project I'm working on."

Minerva happily nodded. She reached for the bill and changed her clothes to those a school uniform and did away with her halo and wings. On some days, Shiori needed her to go to a printing company near their apartment to check if some of the books she had ordered finished printing. Normally, this would take a while which allowed Minerva to stay in a nearby cafe and sample some of the cakes and parfaits the store offered. The staff there already were used to her human disguise so they weren't that scary to talk to.

Already thinking of which cake she'd try today, Minerva left the apartment with a quiet "I'm off."

This left the apartment to the couple to talk about the second script Shiori had handed Keima.

A few years ago, Shiori had decided she wanted to try her hand at writing a story for the games Keima played. With his reputation, it was relatively easy for Keima to get Shiori into a company he trusted and knew were made up of good employees. He also knew someone of her talent would be able to make excellent contributions to his world of gaming.

He just didn't expect her to be assigned to their eroge division that consisted of games such as Wretched Tentacles: Sensi got turned into an octopus?! or Semen Hell Inferno 4: Call of Onii-chan.

So when she was assigned to write a certain scenario she was unfamiliar with, she always took the time to "consult" him about it.

"What's the scene you need help with this time?"

"Um...It's about...um...an-anal...it's in...in the butt."

"...I see. Well, let's just get on with it while Minerva's gone."

"Y-yes! T-thank you again, Keima-san."

"Yeah yeah. You don't have to thank me every time Shiori."

"Y-yes! I'll go get the strap-on."

"...what?"

AN: I know I promised two sections but really this just came out a bit too long to include another section which would have been much shorter. That said I knew I needed somewhere for the exposition which is somewhat relevant. Honestly, the setting of TWGOK is not too fleshed which was why I really just wanted to put it all down in one place. Like according to Minerva, souls provide energy and that reincarnation is done by both heaven and hell. But that raises the question 'where do new souls come from?'. This is further complicated when Dokuro's flashback implies Hell ran out of souls so no new children could be born which implies souls disappear, have a limit, and that Hell doesn't have reincarnation. That whole exposition dump was me trying to make sense of it and I think you could make out on why Keima's doing what he does from this really though it's a stretch. If anyone could explain it better or point out if I got something wrong I wouldn't mind it as I really am trying to make sense of the "lore" so to speak.

On Shiori, was there anything else she'd do? I tried to avoid too much ellipses as it's been five years so you'd think she'd have gotten used to talking to him but it's just not Shiori without them. I also find Minerva has this verbal tic "Aw" which is very cute. Much of this exposition came from her lecture in the Volume 20 Omake and I based this chapter on the idea that she'd be Keima's teacher in the future.

Also, I'm not sure why but the Kaminomi wiki states she isn't even the youngest of the goddesses and that Mars and Mercury are younger which made me think if she just had a loli body and was older than she looked or not. Because Mars being into "justice" and falling into playing games is what a kid would be like and Mercury could just be a talking baby who liked sleeping. As it would be pretty dark to think that heaven would sacrifice kids and a baby to seal old hell, I'll just think their all of legal age.

Next, will definitely be Training with Mars and Mercury

"Shiori. I think you should stop for a moment."

Through glassy eyes, Shiori looked up at him and stopped her ministrations. She tilted her head and Keima could practically see the question mark float above her head.

He turned his gaze to the doorway that was slightly open to see a flash of purple retreat. After a moment, the purple reemerged to show part of a blushign Minerva's face, her mouth covered by a book.

However, to his surprise Shiori just intensified her movements as she brought her around the nape of his neck. She didn't say anything but it was clear she had no intention of stopping.

Keima shifted his gaze above to the handcuffs linking his hands to the bed posts then to the possibly steaming head of the voyeur outside.

Yep, he was screwed. In pretty much every sense of the word. He just hoped Vulcan wouldn't be as rough as Shiori was being at the moment
