Ch 2: Best Friends?

It was the next day and Ana was set to be sent to another facility. Frank had come to get her while she and Christian were trying to stall the transfer. Meanwhile, the ice cream store owner Len Murray, walked into the police station. He told Frank he wanted to make a statement that he did see Ana that night at the door knocking, but he didn't answer as he was headed out for vacation.

David was standing there listening told them thought it was way too convenient and that someone was lying. Ana had admitted that their statements wasn't totally accurate. She told Frank that she and Christian were together part of the night, but she had gotten a craving for ice cream. Afterwards when finding the store had closed early, she drove around and ended up at the cemetery where her mother was buried.

"Look, I know how you two feel about me. I'm the one who convinced Ana to lie so if you want to get mad, aim it at me." Christian told them firmly.

David looked back at his boss. "Your not going to believe their story are you?"

Frank looked back at David and replied, "I'll check it out for accuracy. Give me a few minutes," he told Ana and Christian. Fifteen minutes later he walked over to them confirming the times of Len Murray doing inventory and his plane ticket. Everything checked out, so they had no choice but let Ana go on bail. There was still going to be a trial, but at least now she could go home with Christian.

Once Ana was released out on bail, she went on the search for Kate. She wanted her best friend back. She found Kate at the mausoleum where her father was buried. Ana hated that this had come in between their friendship, but she was hoping with the new evidence, that Kate would see her side.

Ana stepped inside just as Kate was about to leave. The two women stood before each other as they both hard tears streaming down their faces.

"Kate, I really needed to talk to you," Ana told her in an empathetic voice.

"Ana, I can't really deal with this right now," Kate replied.

"Please...I hate that this had come in between us…"

"Yeah, well, that's what happens when my best friend killed my father," Kate snapped.

"Kate...I…" Ana stammered. "Look, I know how it looked. I could understand…"

"No!" Kate shouted back. "You would never understand how this feels, so don't even tell me that you understand. You shot my father, Ana. He bled to death at your mercy, I can't get passed that," she told her. Kate tried to walk away.

"Your going to have too," Ana told her stopping Kate in her tracks. "There's new evidence that I didn't …" Ana couldn't finish what she was saying as she was getting upset. Kate turned back, looking back at her ex friend

"What do you mean there's new evidence? You were seen coming out of Ben's apartment and they found bloody gloves with his blood on them in your room. That just doesn't go away!"

"I know…" Ana replied, softly. "But, that was a lie. Someone came forward telling the police that they saw me at the ice cream shop about the same time frame."

"What do you mean?" Kate asked her, not sure she could believe what Ana was telling her.

"It means that the eye witness lied, Kate. I wasn't there...it wasn't me," Ana said to her crying.

Kate stood there looking back at Ana. She wanted to believe her, she really did. But there was something that wasn't adding up. She had to know the truth.

"Okay," Kate started saying, as Ana smiled back hoping she was going to forgive her. "But there is still one thing that I need to know."

"Whatever it is Kate, just ask me."

"If you were so innocent, then why did you and Christian lie in your statements saying you were together all night."

Ana knew then she had to tell Kate the truth about that night.

"Your right, I did lie…" she said quietly.

"So why should I believe you now?"

"I know how this looks. The only reason we lied was because I didn't have an alibi. But as I said before someone came forward saying they saw me at their store at the time of the murder."

"Who?" Kate asked.

"Len Murray."

"Why is he just now coming forward? What took him so long?"

Ana explained that Len was starting his vacation that day. He was in a hurry to close up, so he closed earlier than normal. She also told her that he had gotten in shipment that same time so he signed for it and left out of town to go visit family. The cops verified that everything Len said was true.

Kate was still not sure how to take this news. It seemed to good to be true. But, if this man was telling the truth and he saw Ana at the shop, then the eyewitness was lying about seeing Ana outside Ben's apartment. Meanwhile, Christian was looking for Ana so that they could go home together. He ran into Jose at the courthouse as the two men talked.

"I heard Len told the cops that he did see Ana that night," Jose told Christian.

"Yeah. He just came forward," Christian replied.

"That's good. I'm glad to hear that someone came forward and told the truth, unlike someone I know."

Christian didn't like what Jose was implying. "What do you mean by that?"

"You know exactly what I mean, Christian. You've been lying to Ana, telling her your on her side."

"I am on her side!" Christian yelled back.

"Oh really? Then why in the hell were you seen with Leila at towers holding hands?"

"I already told you that we ran into each other, nothing more," he snapped.

"I know what you told me, Christian."

"Then what's the problem? I don't get where all this is coming from," Christian stated.

"Your a piece of work. You care nothing about Ana if you did, you have a funny way of showing it! That girl drugged you and almost killed you. How could you be friends with her after what she had done. I don't get it?"

Christian glared back at Jose. "It's complicated...I'm not interested in Leila...I let her know that as well. To be honest...I'm not friends with her, I'm just using her to get information."

"Hmmm well you could have fooled me," Jose replied, snidely.

Christian looked Jose in the eyes. He shook his head to him. I knew it. I should have seen this coming.

"I knew it…I knew it..." Christian mumbled out, shaking his head. "This has nothing to do with friendship. Your still in love with my wife, aren't you?" he asked Jose, staring him in the eyes.

"If you recall, I'm engaged to her best friend Kate." Jose replied.

"You may be engaged, but it doesn't mean your not still in love with my wife. Come on man, I see it in your eyes. You still have feelings for my wife, don't you?" Christian asked again, putting the emphases on wife, as he placed his hands on his hip in a stance, the gold band shined brightly.

"Whatever man, think what you want, I don't care. The truth of the matter is this, yes I still care about her. That part will never change. Get used to it." Jose told him as a matter factly.

"Okay, I could live with that. But just know this...I'm the one she will always come home too. What you two had is history. You made your bed now lie in it," Christian said firmly. He glared back at Jose and left him standing there as he went to find Ana.

Ana and Kate were still at the mausoleum. Ana was telling her friend about someone coming forward and telling the police he saw her that night at the time of the murder. Kate wanted so much to believe Ana.

"The maid who worked at towers was lying, Kate. I don't know why, maybe someone was paying her off, but, I just know that I wasn't the one who killed your father."

Kate looked back at Ana. "You don't know how much I want to believe you…"

Ana went towards her friend. "You can," she said, as she reached out and touched Kate's face gently wiping the fresh tears away.

"Ohhh, Ana!" Kate relied as she took Ana into her arms and the two sobbed together. "I missed you so much!" she cried out to her friend.

"I know...me too," Ana whispered back as she continued to hold her friend.

Christian came up upon the mausoleum and saw the two of them hugging each other. He stood back and watched the two friends make up with each other. They pulled away from each other.

"Kate...I wanted you to know something. That night...I went to my mother's grave. I talked to her just like you were talking to your father. I was telling her how much I missed her and loved her. But, most importantly I went there to let go of the anger I had for Ben. I admit that yes I didn't like him, but, after you read out your father's eulogy, I never realized there was another part to him I never knew. That allowed me to let go of the hurt and anger I had for him…" Ana told her softly.

"Really?" Kate sniffed.

"Yes. I never took the time to realize why...or the reason he lashed out. But, in the end you taught Ben something that could never be taken away from either of you," Ana explained.

"What's that?"

"Love. You taught him how to love again. I couldn't imagine being abused like he was. Being scolded with hot water...that's unforgivable. But, you, Kate, taught him something that no one could ever take away from either of you. He loved you very much," Ana said to her.

"I did, didn't I?" Kate half laughed again. She hadn't laughed like that since he died. "Wow, I haven't laughed since…" she stopped herself.

"Its okay, Kate. Your father would have wanted you to be happy."

"I just feel like that if we never find out who murdered my father...that...I would lose that feeling you know."

"I get it. Believe me I do. Once the trial is over we will find the real killer. I promise," Ana told her friend as the two held each other again.

Christian made himself known to the ladies. Ana and Kate looked his way when he came into view.

"I had a feeling I'd find you here," he told Ana.

"Yeah. I came to talk with Kate," she told her husband.

"It seemed as though you two made up," he commented, noticing the closeness between them.

"Yeah, we did," Ana smiled at him then back at Kate.

"Listen, Christian, I wanted to apologize to you on how I acted. You were right to stand beside Ana through all of this," Kate told him.

"Thanks. I...um...I hope that you two can mend your friendship. I know Ana had missed you alot," he told Kate.

"Me too. Listen, it's getting late. I need to find Jose, but we will catch up later, okay?" she asked Ana.

"Sure. I'm glad we made up. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to call me. I love you, Kate," Ana told her as the two hugged each other bye.

Kate left the two alone at the mausoleum. Ana and Christian looked back at each other. He could see the relief in his wife's eyes.

"I'm glad to see the two of you patched things up," he told her sitting on the bench.

"Yeah, for the most part. We still have a long way to go. Thank you," she told her husband while laying her head on his shoulder.

"What for?" he asked.

"For not giving up on me. They way you love me like you do," Ana looked back at her husband. She leaned in giving him a quick kiss.

"I'd do anything for you, Ana," he told her. I know what I did was wrong, asking Len to lie. But no one has to know he didn't actually see her.

"I know. Let's get out of here and go home," she told her husband.

"Actually, I have something else in mind. Come," he told her as they entwined their fingers together as they walked to Christian's car to head to a special place. Once they made it there, Christian had a surprise for Ana.

The room at the lighthouse was all decked out in flowers. He also had rose petals on the floor that led to the bed. Ana saw a glittering head piece that said happy new year along with a bottle of champagne on ice in a bucket.

"Christian," Ana whispered to her husband.

"You like?" he asked, grabbing the bottle trying to open it.

"Are you kidding, I love it! Thank you," she told him, putting the head piece on.

"I know we didn't get to celebrate the new year properly, so I'm making up for that. Happy New year baby," he told her in a sultry voice.

"Happy new year to you too," Ana said, kissing her husband. She continued kissing him as she wrapped her arms around his neck, while he tried to open the bottle.

"Ana," he mumbled out in between kisses. "I can't …" kiss, "open,"...more kissing with some tongue, "the bottle."

"I know," she replied, in between kissing him. "I can't wait to have you, I need you…" she whispered. Ana began undressing her husband.

Christian gave in to his wife as he kissed her back passionately. He put the bottle down as he backed her into the bed. They were lying on it and he on top of her as they continued making out.

"Hmmm...I've missed this…" he told his wife. He kissed her neck and collarbone as Ana moaned out.

"Me too. Make love to me, Christian," she told her husband, looking into his gray eyes that were dark with desire.

"Your wish is my command, Mrs Grey," he told her.

Soon they were nothing but tongues as each one tried to dominate the kiss. Christian rolled Ana over so that she was on top. He pulled her her hair back from her face as he looked back into his wifes clear blue eyes.

"Your topping from the bottom, Mrs Grey. But, I could so live with that," he told her, looking in her eyes.

"I love you, Christian," she whispered to him.

"I love you too. So much," he told her.

The two of them forgot about everything. The trial, Ben, everything and just concentrated on being them. It had been too long since they've been together. Ana wanted to enjoy every minute they had together.

She felt as though they took life for granted sometimes. It only takes a moment for everything to change. Ana realized when she was locked up how precious her life was with Christian. He stood by her when practically no one else would. She felt loved.

"Oh, Christian," she moaned out. They were completely naked by now. Ana had threw her head back while Christian took each breast into his mouth while he sucked, and nipped on them, marking her.

"Your mine, baby! All mine!" he told her in a deep and sultry voice.

Ana took charge as she slid herself onto him, taking him inside of her. His cock engulfed her, making her feel every thrust he gave her!

"Oh, baby, I've missed this so much," he whispered hungrily to her.

Ana began to rock against him as they found a rhythm. "Yes...oh...yes! Right there baby!" she whispered.

She could feel him deep, he could feel his cock go deeper inside of her as she clenched onto him. Both were breathing and panting hard. Christian couldn't take it anymore, he needed that control back!

He flipped them over, never losing their contact, as he thrust inside of her harder than ever! They were all tongues by now as they kissed, he raised her legs over his shoulder to get more depth. Ana could feel him so much deeper in this position!

"Ung!" she cried out in pleasure.

"You like that baby?" he asked her as he pistoned himself to go faster!

"More! Harder, Christian!" Ana cried out to him as he began thrusting harder, making their voices echo in the room of the lighthouse.

Thank God no one is around for miles! I want to hear my wife scream in pleasure!

"I'm going to fuck you so good, Mrs Grey!" he told her panting as sweat formed on his forehead. "Say my name baby! Tell me how good this feels," he groaned to her.

"Oh, Christian, it feels awesome! I'm coming baby!" she told him.

Christian thrust so hard he thought he would end up in her throat. He felt her clenching to him as he came hard himself!

"Ana!" he groaned out, pumping the last of himself inside of her.

"Christian!" Ana moaned out, while her orgasm hit, making her see stars.

After they both came hard, Christian crashed on top of his wife, feeling every bit of their sweat they had formed from their love making. He kissed her as he rolled off, both looking up at the ceiling.

"Wow!" they both said, once they came down from their sex high. "That was incredible!" Ana told her husband.

"You weren't so bad yourself, there, Mrs Grey," Christian told her.

He leaned up on his arm as he looked back down at his wife. He moved her wet hair from her face. Ana looked back at him.

"What are you thinking?" she asked him.

"Just how lucky I am to have such a beautiful wife. You know, when Boyce looked at you were a piece of meat, it made me aware just how much other men want what I have."

"Christian, you never have to worry about that. We were meant for each other."

"Yes we are," he told her as she snuggled up against him. "Good night, baby," Christian told her as they both fell asleep in each other's arms for the first time in months.
