A/N: Why hello there fellow readers of the interweb! Sorry for not updating, but I blame my laptop because it broke. I would have updated sooner if I was allowed to use my parent's computer, this would have had five additional chapters by now. Technology sucks sometimes. I really am sorry for making you all wait forever, I hate it when that happens. Now to get to the long awaited chapter!
Chapter 2
Alexandra's P.O.V
The blinding light vanished and a forest entered my vision, along with the voices of the nations.
"What the hell⁉" I heard Romano cuss loudly, as I turned to face the large group, I was met with the nations clad in different outfits and carrying many weapons. It was a strange sight indeed.
"What are we all wearing?" England examined his outfit, much like the others.
Everybody was either looking at their outfits, admiring their weapons, or shooting me questioning looks. Truthfully, I had no clue as to the sudden clothing change, but I did have a theory. It was a good guess in my opinion, at least, until I could ask someone who had more knowledge about the situation than I did.
"I think that when you arrived in my country, you all gained a vocation or job, a weapon, and an outfit to match. Example, England is a mage and his weapon is a wand. The main identification of this in his clothing would have to be his cape and gloves. Your weapon doesn't tell what you are. The black, hoodless cape he wears is called a kera here, along with beige trousers, white cotton shirt, leather gloves with a sage's stone infused with it and black boots. The gloves draw magic from the wearer's body using the stone and the person can then cast spells, and are called itars, specifically crafted for mages, sages, and priests. Basically here, your clothes tell people who you are." That was alot of explaining I had to do.
Once I meet up with a couple people, I will have to do that with every country just so they know what they are. I am going to be exhausted. I surveyed the area, calculating where we were in the deteriorating country known as my home. We looked to be at a grassy plain with an open area with trees surrounding us from all sides. The sun was shining down on us from the great sky, indicating that it was mid-day.
"Where are we?" Germany voiced everybody's thoughts.
"Well, the country we're in is called Terra Regum, but I believe we are specifically in the outskirts of the village, Melody's Note."
"Terra Regum...Latin for 'Land of Kings', correct?"
"Correct..." I slowly moved my attention from England to the tree line. I heard something snap, a twig.
" something wro-"
"Shh!"
I drew an arrow from my quiver as I grabbed my bow off my back. Bringing the string back close to my face, I placed the arrow in its position and released it. It flew through the air, cutting through the trees at a quick speed. We all heard a sound of surprise as a figure jumped out from the forest. The arrow struck a nearby tree, lodging itself in the thick bark of the trunk. As the unknown person dodged the arrow, they had landed face down on the ground.
"Okay, did you really need to fire an arrow at me? Is it whenever you hear a sound you instantly think 'oh, it has to be an enemy, must kill'?"
The person said, recognizing that it was a female, as she picked herself up off the ground, grabbing her glasses and placing them back on the bridge of her nose. Once I got a closer look, I immediately recognized her as my friend, Rebecca. She has short, auburn hair and blue-gray eyes. Her outfit consisted of navy blue cotton trousers tucked into ankle boots, and a light brown, long sleeved shirt. Her weapon of choice being a bow, that was currently strapped on her back, and a dagger that was attached to her belt.
"Becky, I'm sorry! You should have announced that it was you and I wouldn't have fired at you."
"Oh, my apologies, I didn't know I was suppose to let people know where I'm hiding. Good strategy to have during war." She took a glance at the silent nations and suddenly got quiet.
"*sigh* No need to be nervous. These people," I gestured to all the nations, "are going to help us win our country back."
"H-hello." She quickly spoke. "There sure is a wide-range of fighters gathered now that I really look at them."
"Yeah...I know what they all are, but I don't know what magical abilities they have. That's why I was thinking of finding Maix to help me out, you can too, if you want."
"I wish I could, but I need to meet up with Adalayde. She has new information."
I'm sure all the nations saw me tense at the statement. After all, they could only watch me converse with Becky, how would they not notice. Adalayde was one of the eight knights that joined the enemy, but it was all a trick. A mask to hide behind. She was really a spy for us, the resistance fighting to win back my home country. The knight position she took was the Saturn Knight. The Knights were like the elite fighters for the King and were called by the planets' names as a representation of their strength. Mercury being the strongest and Neptune being the weakest, but still stronger than the average warrior. Everyday I worry if Adalayde is going to be caught, but that is part of war.
"Okay. Meet up with us later at least?"
Becky nodded and soon after began running through the forest, heading to her destination. I sighed loudly as I turned my attention back to the nations. Maix will probably be in the next village ahead fighting or something.
"Time to get moving people, we are headed to the next village. I'm looking for Maix Zeider, who is a great friend of mine, and she'll help us with learning about your abilities. A brief description of her is pale skin, auburn hair that is shoulder-length and gold eyes, which I doubt you'll see since she has this tendency to wear a mask that covers her eyes." I started to walk, but stopped to say one more thing. "Also, while all of you are here, I suggest you use your human names."
We began our small journey to the next village...Alexander's Protection.
*Nobody's P.O.V*
Trees surrounded an open area, half were dead and the other half had healthy, strong trees. This was the border between Terra Regum, the 'Land of Kings' and Regione Mortis, the 'Land of Death'. Regione Mortis is a country with a dark past...one that people call a legend.
Rustling was heard from the still living trees and bushes as two figures emerged from their hiding spots. One was a girl that wore a light brown hoodie-like jacket and dark blue trousers and black boots that went to her knees. She had light brown hair done up in a mid-neck length ponytail, green eyes with a brown lining, and her skin was pale peach. There were pink ribbons that went from her wrists to her elbows in an 'x' pattern and held a scythe on both arms, and what seemed like a bat attached to her left thigh.
The other was also female and was Rebecca, who had an unusual look of seriousness on her face. Both drew their weapons and aimed at each other. Rebecca had a scythe an inch away from her throat while the other had an arrow pointed directly toward her heart. They stared at each other's eyes for a moment, looking for a clue of disguise to hint that the other was an enemy. There was none. They lowered their weapons and grabbed each other's right arm as a handshake.
"Adalayde." Rebecca calmly stated.
"Becky." Adalayde responded with a smile on her face. Releasing the other's arm, Rebecca started the conversation.
"I received a message that stated you had something important to tell us?"
"Yes, indeed I do. I fear it is not the news we had hoped to receive." A grim expression adorned Adalayde's face. "Sui is attacking now."
"What⁉ He can't be ready that fast!"
"I speak the truth. His first goal is to kill the leader of the warriors rebelling against him."
"Alexander." Rebecca answered.
"Precisely, has Alexander obtained much needed fighters? This is important."
"I just met them. It looks like a small army, maybe enough to win this war. They are heading to meet up with Maix to train. I should head back and help out."
"I agree. I need to return back to the castle before they get too suspicious."
Adalayde was about to head off until Rebecca stopped her.
"Uh...Adalayde...t-..take care of yourself."
Adalayde flashed her a thumbs up and smile, then was gone the next second. Rebecca sighed to herself, looking to the sky before leaving herself.
