Perched in the trees, I watched as a few soldiers walk in a line like ants as they searched for me and Zayanabu, The most wanted criminals of Indaria. It was something I saw almost once a week, maybe twice if the weather was nice. But these soldiers were not as unintelligent as the last group. They had made it this far and only lost 4 soldiers to the Banshee wolves leaving 3 left.

They have yet to realize I have been following them for the past 4 days. I eventually grew tired of continuously killing soldiers as soon as I saw them so I started watching them and seeing what they would do. Some would be killed by the deadly animals that dwelled in the jungle, others would fall victim to the jungle itself, quicksand, poisonous berries, falling trees, there are many things to fear in this jungle… and I am to be feared most of all.

I am not some foolish villager merely wandering the woods. I was born here, this is my habitat, I know every tree, I know every rock, stream, plant and twig in this jungle, I am aware of the danger of the animals that roam, and they are aware of the danger I am to them, I know where quicksand appears I know where the path disappears. This jungle is my home. I am in my Niche here.

I soon grew bored of the traveling soldiers, it had been 5 days and they were at the end of their rope, their death was now inevitable. One of them was wildly forming at the mouth and another was sweating blood, both results of poisoned berries. They would all die soon, even the one who was still healthy had gone mentally ill from this jungle claiming there were pink Bunnies eating his toes, probably inhaled some kind of spore. But I had to make sure they died.

At first, I felt the light gnaw of guilt nibble at my heart when I slaughterd my own people, But after I went on my journey to form a rebellion it evaporated completely. Botan had taken this realm that had once been prosperous and beautiful land, lush with trees of many colors and kind loving people and poisoning it slowly but surely into a mere copy of outworld. People saw, people knew what was happening to Indaria and they refused to fight for it. What is a realm if its own people would not fight for it? People were afraid to fight, afraid to defy the ultimate authority and power.

But were we not dying already?

I slipped down from the branch landing on the one who had gone insane, snapping his neck in one swift movement. Bloodsweat tried to draw his sword but his hand slipped from all the excessive blood sweat on his hands. I propelled my hair blade into his throat creating a fountain spray of blood. The last one who was foaming dropped to his knees folding his hands in front of him as he pleaded.

"Please spare me jungle spirit! I will-" instantly bored with his pleading I kicked him in the face knocking him back before stomping on his neck hard enough to feel the snap vibrate through my leg. I used my foot to tilt his head to the other side to his pretty side was showing, yes much better. I went to the one who had gone insane, took his boots and jumped into the trees, heading back home.

Upon entering the cave I called I home I immediately knew Zaynabu had been smoking Takazi leaves, it was a hallucinogenic that numbed the senses, I had tried it one or two times and it was an enjoyable experience, but I didn't like it as much as Zaynabu did.

This cave was a temple for the god that Zayanabu worshiped and served Shekurahdyah. There were many paintings on the wall depicting events of the past it has been long since anyone had painted anything in here. The most recent event painting was of High King Shadaru winning the tournament of Royalty who would have been my Mothers Father and that was over 100 moon cycles ago. There was a small waterfall that ran clean water and formed a small pond and a hole in the ceiling with various vegetation growing around it that provided sunlight. No animals ever came in here, perhaps it had something to do with the fact that it was a temple and its sacredness.

"Zaynabu." I called out.

"Vitani." Zaynabu appeared from behind a curtain of leaves in her hand she had her porcelain pipe, it dangled lazily in her fingers as ribbons of smoke danced from its burning tip. She almost always adorned white clothes that contrasted with her black skin beautifully. She wore white sheer pants with a leotard bottom. A matching loose fitting sheer shirt with long billowy sleeves and stopped right under her breasts. Her hair adorned in many braids holding beads that all had all had some meaning to her. She told me once what each of them meant but I fell asleep. "you have been gone for 5 sun's passing's, they ave' lasted longer dan' others."

"It would appear so." I tossed her the brown leather boots "I thought you might want those."

"Tank' you." She sniffed the boots and grimaced "dey' smell like they stepped in a pile of da' Devils mushroom."

"Well they were going crazy." I said as I began to strip down preparing to bathe which is something I had not done in 5 days. It is not uncommon Indarian practice when you become friends with someone you may present yourself naked in front of them. Zaynabu practically raised me so I had no problem being naked in front of her.

"I need to tell you o' something." Zaynabu started tossing the boots to the side for later use "Shekurahdyah as' given me a vison."

"…Zayanabu are you sure you're not just high?" I asked.

"Child! I am not aie!" she yelled in a scolding tone "I kno' when my masta' is tryin' to contact me."

"Alright alright what did he say?"

"The god o' thunda, Raiden, Protecta' o' eart-realm will come to us." She explained I removed my hairblde gently setting it on my pile of clothes and unweaving my braid.

"When?" I grabbed a bar of soap and a sponge and started walking over to the small pool provided by the waterfall. "And why?"

"I do not know…only dat' his comin' will be o' great importance to us." She said vaguely

"So some god is gonna come to us and you have no idea why or when." I scoffed "Zayanabu you are defiantly high."

"I know when the great Shekurahdyah is speakin' to me child!" Zayanabu shouted her voice loud enough to echo around the cave. "I feel it in ma' spirit! I feel it in tha' air! I feel it-"

Her little episode was cut short by the splash I created when jumping into the pool. The water was cool and refreshing on my dirty skin and refreshing as it weaved into my greasy hair. I resurfaced giving a light sigh of relief.

"You just be ready child." Zayanabu warned "Cause when da' Thunda' God comes you bedda' be ready."

Two. It had been two days from that conversation when Raiden appeared and it had been quite hard to miss his arrival. The hair on my arms started to rise and Zayanabu was electrocuted when she tried to pick up her Kriss, shortly following these events a bolt on lightning struck in the middle of the cave revealing the thunder god Raiden himself.

"Vitani. 7th child of High Queen Yarakiri." For a god he had a very strange way of saying Hello "I am Raiden the god of thunder I have come to-"

"I told ja' Child!" Zayanabu interrupted looking at me with a smug expression "I know when I am avin' a vison from ma' god!"

"A god who won't even specify when such important guests will arrive or even why they are coming in the first place." I reminded. Zayanabu smacked me on the back of the head, but not hard enough to cause any kind of harm. I looked at the Thunder god and studied his appearance, he wore a garb of blue and white with some strange amulet adorned on his chest, it seemed to have some magical energy tied to it but I could not be sure. Atop his head he wore a pointed straw hat that had concealed his eyes before he lifted his head to reveal that they were a blank glowing white where if you looked closely you could lightly see an outline of what appeared to be his irises.

"So…Raiden god o' Thunda…" Zayanabu rose from her sitting position to perch herself in front of the thunder god "Tell us why you have come."

"I am here to ask Vitani to participate in the Mortal Kombat tournament in Earthrealm's favor." Raiden turned to face me, Zayanabu circled Raiden as if she were a lioness hunting her prey, but she may have just been curious to the form the god of thunder had taken.

"And why should I fight for a realm that is not mine?" I asked as I stood tossing my bladed hair over my shoulder letting it swish behind me. "Especially one I am so unfamiliar with?"

"If Earth realm loses this tournament out world will absorb it." I squinted my eyes and turned to Zayanabu, she nodded to me confirming Raiden's words. "After Shao-Kahn absorbs Earth realm he will not stop there. I believe he will go after Indaria next." I stiffened at this but I did not let it show in my face. I had seen Outworld before and the only word I can use to describe it was… dead. There were no trees no animals and almost everyone was a disgusting tarkatan. But worst of all almost everyone was practically a slave. Even though the rule of Indaria today was much more harsh than it was its still not at brutal as Outworld. If Shao Kahn got ahold of Earth real the power between the two allies would be tragically out of balance… there's no telling what would become of my people.

Zayanabu rested a calloused hand on my shoulder. "Dis is your Choice…" She said seriously her molten gold eyes completely sober with earnestness. "You can take many roads to get to da' same place… whatever your decision… I will remain by your side." I smiled at my friend and master placing one of my gloved hands on hers. Even though her words had moved me, I had already made my decision.

"… I will participate… but I require something in return." Raiden nodded signaling he was listening. "Even if Earth Realm succeeds Indaria will still be allied with Outworld and Botan would still be in rule… I request you ask the elder gods to grant me the power I need to defeat Him and his…dogs to restore Indaria to its former glory." I said sternly "If they will not grant me the power then you will help me." Raiden looked at me with an expression I couldn't read. But I stood next to my conditions with a lead foot "Those are my terms."

"…alright… If you participate I will assist you in restoring your realm." He Agreed.

"Now… when does this tournament-" before I could say anymore Raiden laid a hand on my shoulder and I felt electricity pulse through my body and every hair stand up straight.

I don't know if I should give Vitani whip chains or cool daggers for a weapon, I feel like if she hd whip chains it would be too much of whipping with her hair and two whip-chains but it would all match, and daggers seem to cliché. Should I just give her the hair blade? How the heck would she block? I want her to have something that's not already someone else's weapon (you don't know how BAD I wanted to give her the fans, freaking Kitana… her name is freaking kitana! She should have a Katana!) I'm toying with the idea of giving her a cool silver spear that extends out, it would make sense since she lives in the jungle and she is sort of a huntress. If you guys have ideas please let me know

Okay, Vitani sounds different when she speaks to Zayanabu because she is speaking Indarian to eachother, so Vitani is using certain slangs like "high" or "Funky" when she speaks to raiden he is speaking English wich is not a language she is comfortable with so she speaks it so…elegantly because she is unfamiliar with slang, I just wrote it in english, why did I not make up an entire language? Because being the student I am it's a miricale I have time to even type this out. But if you care when it is spoken it's a mix between Japanese and Russian accents

I wonder if anyone ever reads these bottom notes I put here? You guys really should because they contain important information, or just things of me asking you, the reader's opinion. I could probably just type down some curses that causes you to grow 16 toes, or it could be like a chain e-mail where youll loose everything you hold dear or be visited by some grudge like being.

Im sorry for any spelling errors I hve the newest version of word and the spellcheck suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks it takes forever to get anything done.

Okay. So it's MY understanding that in the mortal Kombat tournament Outworld has to win 10 tournaments in a row in order to claim Earth realm. But since liu kang won they have to start all over and do another ten in a row. I've heard it at least a million different way but this is the way it makes the most sense to me.

If you haven't noticed, Zaynabu has a Jamaican accent, I'm not trying to offend anyone I just want to make it clear that she talks like that so they aren't spelling mistakes
