My mother suggested I should write my "heart's desires" in a journal. My heart has no desires; I live a happy life. My family lives in the Piney Woods of Texas. I'm seventeen years of age with two older brothers and one younger, and one older sister and one younger. My father is a politician, and my mother is a prominent female figure in our society. I have friends, money, and servants.

My life is one many people would think to be perfect or even a dream come true, but to me it is a life of misery- a prison. My life is a list of "Do This" and "Not This"; "It's too dark, you can't go for a walk", "Put your hair up", "Go change bonnets so we can have tea with the other politicians' wives."

I am constantly watched, and there is no where I can go without being chaperoned. It felt good to let all that out. I'll write again soon.
