He grabs me by the back of my shirt and drags me towards the castle.
I get exasperated voice and tell him," It's not like the last few times, Dad! I mean, I really actually hit it! You guys were busy and I had a very clear shot. It went down, just off Raven Point. Let's get a search party out there, before it-"
Dad drops he and looks me in the eyes to yell," STOP!Just... stop. Every time you step outside, disaster follows. Can you not see that I have bigger problems? Winter's almost here and I have an entire kingdom to feed!"
I lift an eyebrow at that. "Between you and me, the village could do with a little less feeding, don't ya think?"(A Viking at the back rubs his stomach as if to say "Are you calling me fat?")
Dad does not like the quib, to say the least. "This isn't a joke, Hiccup! Why can't you follow the simplest orders?"
I start to wave around with my hands. "I can't stop myself. I see a dragon and I have to just... kill it, you know? It's who I am, Dad."
Dad gets a sad look when I say this. "You are many things, Hiccup. But a dragon killer is not one of them. Get back to the house."He turns to Gobber and says," Make sure he gets there, take some of the high guards if you have to. I have his mess to clean up."
Off to the side, the teens see all of this. Tuffnut yells out," Quite the performance.
Snotlout yells,"I've never seen anyone mess up that badly. That helped!
I just roll my eyes at them. "Thank you, thank you. I was trying," I look over at Gobber before saying," so...I really did hit one."
He gives me a sad smile at this and says," Sure, Hiccup."
I look at the ground and mutter," He never listens."
Gobber gives a chuckle to this. "Well, it runs in the family."
"And when he does, it's always with this... disappointed scowl. Like someone skimped on the meat in his sandwich."I start to imitate my father. "Excuse me, barmaid! I'm afraid you brought me the wrong offspring. I ordered an extra large boy with beefy arms. Extra guts and glory on the side. This here, this is a talking fishbone!"
This causes to laugh at that. "Now, you're thinking about this all wrong. It's not so much what you look like, it's what's inside that he can't stand."
I give him my most sarcastic look and voice and say,"Thank you for summing that up."
Gobber looks like he is trying very hard to get midpoint across. "Look, the point is, stop trying so hard to be something you're not."
I get a hurt look on my face. "I just want to be one of you guys."
OVER IN THE GREAT HALLS, THE KING IS HOLDING A MEETING
The king sits on his throne addressing the high command. "Either we finish them, or they'll finish us! It's the only way we'll be rid of them! If we find the nest and destroy it, the dragons will leave. They'll find another home! One more search. Before the ice sets in."
One of the generals yells out,"Those ships never come back."
Stoick counters this with," We're Vikings, of the great kingdom of Berk! It's an occupational hazard! Now, who's with me?"
Nobody says anything except a random soldier who says," Today's not good for me. I've gotta do my tax returns.
Stoick decides to play his trump card. "Alright. Those who stay will look after Hiccup."
"To the ships!"
"I'm with you, Stoick!"
The king smiles at this."That's more like it."
As everyone is leaving to get ready, Gobber stands up and says,"Right, I'll pack my undies."
Stoick shakes his head. "No, I need you to stay and train some new recruits."
Gobber sarcastically rolls his eyes and says,"Oh, perfect. And while I'm busy, Hiccup can cover the stall. Molten steel, razor-sharp blades, lots of time to himself... what could possibly go wrong?"
Stoick leans onto the side of his throne to rub his face. "What am I going to do with him, Gobber?"
For once Gobber gets a serious tone in his voice. " Put him in training with the others."
Stoick looks at him like he has lost his mind. "Hiccup, training with the others? No way. He is a prince. Besides, he wouldn't be able to do it anyway. You know how he is. Ever since he could walk, he has been... different."
"And that is why he should join. This will toughen him up a little. Plus he needs to spend time with his future subjects, and what better way than to spill some blood together. And yes, I know he has been different, many because the first time he could walk, he went to my forge."
Stoick rubs his head for a second longer, then says," But Gobber, ever since I was a small boy, I knew exactly who I was and who I was to be. Hiccup is not that boy."
Gobber shakes his head at Stoick. "You can't stop him, Stoick. You can only prepare him. Look, I know it seems hopeless. But the truth is you won't always be around to protect him. He's going to get out there again. He's probably out there now."
DURING THE BATTLE
"General, those catapults are causing too much mayhem in the ranks."
I drift to the Gronkle. I always knew that they would have me intervene sooner or later in this battle, it was the capital after all. "Alright, I will handle this myself. Pull everyone back from them while I handle the situation."
I had done this countless of times. The humans had never been able to get close to hitting me, they were to slow. All they saw was a glimpse of my true form. The only time any human had seen me was years ago, and they never got the chance to tell anyone.
I power up a plasma blast as I am speeding towards the catapults. I always hated those contraptions, they took down more than anything else. Once I release the blast, there is a split second where I can be seen. During this, I hear one of the human's calls say something about me.
"Night Fury! Get down!"
I still have to give them some credit, I do prefer their name for me than what my species is actually called, Bat av Natten. I think this translates to bat of the night. Not the best name for the General of an army, or very flattering.
I circle around for another shot when I hear a Zippelback yell," Yea! Get them, girl!" "Yea, we will just enjoy the view. Woohoo!" I will have to deal with that jackass(es?) later. This is not the time for such foolishness, especially since he has no chance. For now, let's just try to hit the catapult and not the dumbass.
I zoom towards the next target and let a plasma blast fly. Of course, it hits the target dead on as usual. As I fly past, the small glimpse is there again but I don't think about it at all. As I go to return to observing the battle, something wraps itself around me, causing pain all over but especially in my tail. I start to fall so I yell for someone to help me but no one comes to my rescue. Figures.
I start to crash into the forest outside of the city, thank the gods for that bit of luck at least. Once I reach the trees, they start to tear at my scales and wings but because of the rope, I can't move to avoid anything.
I finally hit the ground with a thud, causing me to let out another scream of pain. I can't keep my eyes open anymore. I need to sleep. I only hope that someone will be able to help me.
HISTORY OF BERK
"Alrighty students, who want to learn about your great kingdom?"
"We do!"
"Well then, let's get started. Everyone sit down so I can tell you. I will only tell you what we know for a fact, no myths and no legends."
"About 400 years ago, Berk was nothing but a small Viking village on an island. Then one day, a bad winter hit. Now, Berk has always had bad winters but this one was horrible. It lasted almost 2 years nonstop. One day, the chief decided that they could no longer stay there and they all decided to leave the island. They built grand boats and set sail for land that they had only ever heard of by merchants. That land is what you now are at.
Once they landed, they were met by many new people and things. Several people tried to destroy them but the Vikings prevailed. They eventually started to build the capital. After a few years, something happened. We still do not know this day exactly what but somehow we were introduced to the dragon species. At some point, something went wrong, causing us to fight. This led to the war that is happening nowadays. But don't worry, we will win this war!"
"Mister Teacher, can you tell us more about the dragons?"
"Of course, but only the basics and the need to know. First off is the Nadders, they are the more common of all dragons. They have fire breath that reaches higher than almost any other, and the ability to throw spikes from their tales. Next is the Gronkle. They shoot molten lava and have been known to throw up this magma to make very hard metals. Next is the Zippelback. They have two heads, one for spreading gas while the other ignites it. Those are all the most common dragons so those are the ones you need to worry about.
What you all probably don't know is that some dragons have two forms. One that is their dragon forms, or their base forms. The other is their hybrid form. In this form, they have some human traits, such as human hands and feet. Some dragons, when in their hybrid forms, only have the hands of a human. That is how you know if they are changed, for no matter what will have human hands, even if they still have scales on them. While some dragons in their hybrid forms look almost human. The only way to tell them apart is the fact that they will retain some scaling and keep the hue of their scales on their skin. What you need to remember is that all dragon types have the possibility to change, since all dragons have some amount of magic in them, but only the most powerful can change their form. So if you see one do this, tell a high guard as soon as you can.
Alright, if you want to know more, please join the dragonology class. Now be gone with you all. We can talk more tomorrow bright and early."
A\N:
Alright, first off. This was not planned by me, I didn't even write most of this. It was actually written by another. But since they don't want to start their own account, it will be put here. For now, they will be referred to as Sayan Eighteen. The story will follow a lot of the movies except for area and era and the fact that the Vikings know that the dragons are sentient.
None of this story is set in stone so if you have any advice you want to give or you want to see it go a certain way, let me know and I will relay.
This will be a romance but which romances are not set.
