Chapter Two updated as of 24/05/19
I hope whoever of you that are reading this now enjoy it. I'm trying to get around to all the chapters of Darkness and Light at the moment, which is the one I have the most inspiration to continue (and motivation to fix) at the moment. I'll eventually get around to all the others.
Thanks, Y.
Alex walked down the corridor, his bag slung over his shoulder, a Pocky stick between his lips. Alongside him were his best friends, Takuma and Rima. Rima was nonchalantly feeding him Pocky while Takuma chatted to the pair about anything and everything that came to mind. Upon reaching their classroom, the two boys were attacked by a horde of screaming girls.
"Takuma!"
"Alex!"
A few girls shoved their blushing friend forward.
"Um...A-Alex?" He turned around and looked at her boredly.
"Ya?" She gulped as he raised a curious eyebrow.
"W-would you like to go out sometime?"
"Nope," he stated simply, turning back to Rima for more Pocky. Takuma sighed.
"Alex. You need to be a bit more sensitive," he chided as he walked towards the crying, heart-broken girl. "This is the third girl this month." Takuma, taking the hand of the girl, beamed. "Please excuse Alex's rudeness. He means no harm."
"Okay, everyone. Sit down now please," Mr Yagari said, a book resting on the shoulder of the dark, navy blazer he was wearing. The tall brunette sat down on his chair, legs crossed on the table as everyone sat down. He eyed three students in the furthest back row. "Take out your books and open page one hundred and sixty-two."
The one-eyed teacher furrowed his brow as he watched Rima throw a Pocky stick into Alex's mouth with one hand, and with the other, she opened her book. Her eyes never left the book as she threw, and neither did Alex's from his. They were both so used to it by now, that they did their routine effortlessly.
That was all he needed to see to know that the pair were going to be a major pain in his neck.
Yui strolled down the corridor and into her classroom. She walked to her desk at the back of the room, ignoring the drooling mouths of the boys and the delighted shrieks of the girls. The boys were always drooling after her (something that repulsed her greatly) but the girls were screaming at something or someone else. Yui decided it was best to ignore them and she sat down at her desk.
She reached underneath the top to find her book and instead found a pink box of Pocky. Smiling, she opened the box of Pocky that Rima had left it for her this morning, as she did every morning. She slowly slid one of the sticks into her mouth and wrapped her tongue around the top of it. Humming softly, she savoured the sweet taste of the strawberry that burst through the chocolate. One of the boys braved it and walked up to her.
"Hey, Y-Yui...?" he stuttered, shivering as she looked at him, smiling softly, with an eyebrow raised.
"Yes?"
"W-would you like to get see a movie or something this weekend?"
The ginger braced himself as she seemingly thought over it.
"No, I'm sorry. I have plans."
The amber eyed boy, nodded weakly before returning to his seat, his peers patting him sympathetically. There was only one boy in the class whose invitations Yui had accepted- whose invitations she always accepted. A shrill squeal told the boys that said-boy had just arrived.
The girls crowded the doorway as a tall, ebony-haired boy appeared. His dark crimson eyes washed over the blushing faces below him as he smiled at them all.
"Good morning, Girls, "he said.
"Good morning, Kaname!" they chorused. Being the daily routine that they had turned this into, it was no surprise that the entire class of girls were in perfect unison as they greeted him.
Kaname's appearance distracted the girls long enough that Yui had a chance to glimpse the previous object of their affections. There stood a silver-haired boy, who had lilac eyes, and was a bit shorter than Kaname. He was glaring at the backs of the girls. Yui couldn't help but chuckle at this. Her admirers all scowled, disgusted that some new kid, who wasn't even trying, could not only get Yui's attention but make her smile as well. The closest any of them had ever got, was when she smiled sadly while she rejected them.
Kaname excused himself from the girls and made his way down to his, arguably, closest friend.
"Good morning Yui." She smiled warmly at him as she returned the greeting.
"How was your weekend?" she inquired, her smile widening as Kaname tenderly patted the silky hair on her head.
All the girls were gawking as they let out heavy sighs of envy towards Yui. Sure, they saw it every day but that didn't mean they didn't wish he would do that to them too.
"It was okay. What about yours?"
Yui shrugged in response, her face relaxing into a very small, practised smile. She motioned to the new student with her head.
"Who's he?"
Kaname shook his head.
"I presume he's the new student Headmaster Cross mentioned on Friday." Yui rose and walked towards the silverette. She offered him a smile as he noticed her approach.
"Hi. Welcome to Cross Academy. I'm Yui." She motioned to Kaname behind her with her thumb. "And that's Kaname Kuran."
The boy looked at them for a moment, before outstretching a hand.
"Zero Kiryuu," he answered in a husky voice.
"Nice to meet you, Zero. There's a spare seat behind me if you want to sit there," Yui stated casually as she and Kaname went back to their seats, followed by a reluctant Zero.
A loud bell signalled the start of classes and their math teacher walked in.
"Good morning everyone!" came his happy chirp.
"Good morning, Mr Aido."
He motioned for Zero to come up to the top of the class. It was very reluctantly done. Zero was shy about his instant dislike of this teacher.
"Everyone, I'd like you to meet Zero Kiryuu. He'll be joining your class from now on."
As Zero returned to his seat, the handsome blonde started quizzing the girls on their weekend.
"Don't worry, Zero. He's the only overbearing teacher. " Kaname whispered as Zero walked past him.
"I hope so." was the reply he received.
