The next morning Call woke up to Tamara and Aaron's shouting. Call groaned and grimaced at the ache in his leg.

"C'mon Call!" Said Tamara's voice breaking through his dreams.

Call opened one eye slowly and then the other and glared mercilessly at his friends who peered at him from above, "What time is it?"

"Time to open presents!" Tamara spoke too loudly for Call. She grabbed his arm and pulled him unsteadily to his feet. Call had to balance carefully to avoid straining his throbing leg. But he was secretly glad that Tamara treated him like a real kid.

Call grumbled something unintelligible and stumbled behind his friends who were impatiently waiting by the staircase. Through the darkness, the lights on the Christmas tree cut through the gloom and Call stared at the presents with his eyes big and round.

Tamara and Aaron were careful to walk at Call's pace despite their anxiousness. Tamara grabbed the closest present and read the label, "Callum Hunt. From Master Rufus."

Call looked at the long box skeptically and tore off the wrapping paper. Call grinned at the new skateboard and put it carefully on the ground.

Tamara sucked on a candy cane and she sat cross cross applesauce while Call dangerously skateboarded through the halls and Aaron dribbled a basketball.

"I didn't know you skateboarded." Aaron said, staring at Call oddly.

Tamara in the other hand didn't look too surprised, "Of course he does Aaron. It's definitely a Call kind of thing." Call couldn't help but notice that Tamars looked just as good in the morning as she did later in the day.

There was a knock on the huge front doors and Tamara opened it in her purple rock star pajamas. Her face fell, "what are you doing here, Jasper?"
