Hello all! I came up with the idea to continue this story and I hope you all like how I did it. I've about 8 chapters ahead so you will get a continuous update and I will keep writing the story at work or whenever I have the time. This story, I think, will be max 20-25 chapters. This chapter has Elphaba and Fiyero in it along with a new character. It deals with the aftermath of Glinda's death. I won't say much else about it. You have to read! I don't own the characters of Wicked they belong to Gregory McGuire. The only character that is mine is Prince and Calypso. So read and enjoy!

Chapter 2

A cold breeze ripples through a barren street. A few fall leaves dance through the air. Brown eyes watch the scraggly leaves move around before they suddenly burst into flames. Ash is blown up from the ground and swirl around with the air. The eyes look down and are covered by a worn, black brim of a pointed hat. A green hand appears from the darkness to grip the edge of the flowing cap that is moving with another gust of the wind. A grunt escapes the person as they wrap their cape tightly around their body, to keep what little body heat they have inside them.

They are a lone figure in an area with house that have broken windows, overgrown weeds that have taken over the lawns and some of the doors have been broken off their hinges, as if kicked in with a great amount of force. Horse hooves echo on the barren cobblestone street. The person doesn't move as the noises get louder and closer to them.

"Elphaba!"

Chocolate eyes make an appearance at the ring of her name. Fiyero is guiding a carriage led by two, white horses. A pang of hurt comes from her heart as Elphaba remembers how Glinda would talk about having horses on her land, after graduating Shiz. Tears begin to well up in her eyes at that particular memory. She still couldn't believe that Glinda is dead and she held her while the blonde took her last breath of life. She wishes what has happened isn't true. That was just a bad dream and all she needs to do is wake up. The green woman jumps slightly when something warm touches her shoulder. She pulls out of her mind to look up. Light, blue eyes are looking down at her with concern. Elphaba wishes those eyes were the crystal, blue eyes of her dead, former lover staring at her instead of Fiyero's lighter colored eyes.

"Elphaba, come on. I found a carriage." Fiyero says softly as he grips her arm, to help pull her to her feet. Elphaba gives a sniffle as she let the Winkie prince pull her up. She didn't have the will to get up herself. She just wants to do nothing anymore. Her fire and will has been sucked out of her the second Glinda's body went cold. Elphaba gives an exhale through her nose before looking towards where the carriage is. Fiyero had come up with the idea to go to Kiamo Ko to go into better hiding. The Emerald City is no longer safe for her. Fiyero isn't going to let Glinda's spirit down. He will make sure the green woman is safe. Elphaba walks away from the Winkie prince and heads towards the horses.

"How did you get the carriage?" She asks quietly, her fingers brush against the snout of one of the horses. The horse gives a soft snort at the touch and moves its hooves slightly. Fiyero gives a heavy sigh as he watches her. He has never seen her look so helpless and lost. He wishes he could help her. He casts his eyes to the side; the only way to get her back is to bring Glinda back to life. Fiyero looks back and his eyes soften at what he sees. Elphaba is petting the horse's nose with a hint of a smile on her face. The Winkie prince gives a sad sigh as he runs his fingers through his blonde hair. Let's face it. He is no warlock. He puts his hands into his pockets and rocks on his heels.

"I'm a prince with money. I bought it plus supplies that will last until we get to my home." He replies as he walks towards her. Elphaba looks towards him, dark burn trails are prominent, going from her eyes down her cheeks. She gives a weak smile as she stops petting the pure, white nose of the horse.

"I forgot."

Fiyero gives a soft chuckle as he stops next to her and puts a comforting hand on her shoulder. He sees the grief in the brown eyes and stops making the cheerful noise. It seems rude to make such a merry noise while she is in pain. Elphaba gives a deep exhale and looks towards the horse, she has been petting. Their eyes connect and they start to just stare at each other. Elphaba looks to Fiyero with a small grin while she starts to rub the horse's nose with affection

"His name is Prince" She says softly. Fiyero twitches his nose a bit. He didn't get either of the horses names but if that is what Elphaba say it is then that is what the horse's name will be. Prince nods his head in confirmation in a very slight way that Fiyero almost didn't catch it. Is this horse actually a Horse?

"Ok then. Prince it is." The Winkie prince replies as he gently grab's the green witch by the right arm. He knows that they shouldn't be sticking around this area for a long period of time. Gale Force makes rounds here to catch hiding Animals or people who are on the run from the Wizard. They need to leave and get to the safety of his castle.

"Elphaba, we have to go." Fiyero says urgently. Elphaba exhales shakily at this. She looks behind him to see the faint, green glow of the Emerald city. Tears start to come forth again as her mind is flooded with old memories of her and Glinda being at that once marvelous city. She still can't grasp the idea of what has happened in that grand city.

"Goodbye" She whispers before she slowly walks towards the side of the carriage to get into it. She needs to leave this part of her behind just like before. Just like how she left Glinda on that train. Fiyero stays by her side and opens up the door for her. The green woman has the itch to turn around once more to look at the glowing city but she squishes it immediately. It will do her no good to look again. She gives a deep inhale and grips the side of the carriage, ignoring the helping hand of Fiyero. With a sigh, Elphaba gets into the carriage. Her brown eyes give a quick sweep, just in case the Wizard put some assassins in some hidden compartment. The green woman shakes her head at her paranoia and takes a seat on one of the plush, red cushions. He probably already knows that Glinda has died by the hands of his soldiers but no doubt will twist it to make it look like she is the one who did it

"We are heading out." Fiyero's muffled voice comes through the wood panel between them. Elphaba juts forward slightly when the carriage jerks forward in movement. The somber woman rights herself with a sigh and leans her head back on the soft headrest. She closes her eyes, in an instant she is assaulted with the image of the bloody, broken body of Glinda in her arms. The chest of her former lover stopping forever and her spirit exiting her body, forever leaving Elphaba alone in this world. A stinging pain on her face forces the green woman from her horrible memories.

"Damn it." She whispers as she pulls her sleeve over her wrist and uses it as protection to wipe away the burning tears from her face. She will have to find her ointment at their first stop to soothe the pain. When Elphaba is finished wiping away the acid like tears she gives a shaky exhale of breath and bows her head at an angle. The green witch still feels the numbness throughout her body and she wonders if it will ever fade away. A green hand sneaks into the pocket of her dress till the tip of her fingers hit coolness. Her nose flares at what she feels and she hesitates to grasp the object. Elphaba doesn't want to bring up old memories that come with it.

"I can't, not now." The raven haired beauty whispers to herself as she pulls her hand away from the accursed object with a heavy heart. She leans forward and rests her elbows on top of her legs. Her face gets buried in her hands with a sharp exhale. She can't believe how fast it went downhill. She was just coming back from a mission with the hopes of being able to rest and relax with Malky by her side. The next thing she knows Glinda is dying in her arms. Ever since that moment happened Elphaba has been thinking how it is all her fault. If she hadn't have left the blonde on that train alone. If she hadn't let her sense of justice take control over her mind. Glinda would still be alive. Hell, the two of them would still be together and happy.

"I'm so sorry, Glin. I wish I could take it all back." Elphaba keeps talking to herself. The green woman ignores the sensation that runs down the length of her hands and cheeks. They feel like they are on fire but she doesn't bother wiping away her tears this times. She deserves to feel the pain. It won't bring back her love but it is some small form of repentance for all the wrong she has caused in this world.

Fiyero gives a jump of fright when a loud crack of thunder echoes above him. He looks up with a questioning stare and blinks when a rain drop hits his right eye.

"That is odd." He mutters to himself at seeing black clouds hanging above him. He could have sworn that there wasn't a cloud in the sky when he got Elphaba into the carriage. He gives a hard swallow at a streak of lightening going across the darkening sky. This looks like it could turn into a bad storm. This leaves the Winkie prince confused on how fast the storm came in. It didn't make sense to him. Prince gives a snort and flicks his ears in annoyance when more rain drops hits his head.

"I was hoping for a sunny for the ride." Came a deep voice from where the male Horse's head is. Fiyero nearly drops his reins in shock at hearing the voice coming from one of the horses he bought. Prince casts a sideways glance towards the open mouthed prince to see the reaction of him actually speaking. When Fiyero bought him and his mate he could tell that Fiyero is trustworthy enough to reveal that the both of them are Horses. His wife, Calypso, didn't approve in fear of being locked away or worse.

Fiyero clears his throat and sits up straighter to regain his composure. He is a little shocked that he managed to buy two Horses.

"Me too. It would make the trip faster and smoother." Fiyero replies as he blinks his eyes when raindrops hit his face. He is hoping to get to his home in about two days but with the unexpected storm it will push back their arrival date. Calypso's ears are to the side in annoyance with her mate. She didn't want Prince to speak but the Horse doesn't listen to her at times, clearly. She just doesn't hope that Prince will reveal that Glinda had the two of them have been strategically placed so Elphaba and Fiyero will be under the watch of the Animal Resistance.

"Will you be ok walking in the rain for a bit? We need to get as much distance from the Emerald city." Fiyero asks with concern for the Animals, who have to pull the carriage through the cold rain. Prince nods his head with confidence. They made a promise to Glinda to make sure Elphaba will be safe and protected. He intends to keep it.

"We will go as far as you want." Prince answers as his ears go all the way back when the rain starts to pound his face. He is determined to keep his promise to the good witch, to his good friend. Fiyero pulls up the edge of his coat up towards his face and pulls his hat down to keep the water from blinding him. He would love to keep on talking with the Horse but the torrent rain fall mixed with random booms of the thunder has halted any talk from progressing. Fiyero gives a heavy sigh and looks back to the carriage with the grief in his blue eyes. He just hopes that Elphaba's heart will heal in time.

Poor Elphaba…she is having a hard time dealing with Glinda's death. Did Glinda know that she was going to die so she implemented a plan that would take care of Elphaba when she did die? The next chapter will be an interesting one. I won't say much about it. It's a surprise. Anyways, see you all in the next chapter. Until then
