*Disclaimer* I do not own the Loud House. If I did, Renee and Lincoln would at least be friends instead of enemies.

So after stopping by Kat's house so she could secure and put away the box that Lincoln gave her, Lincoln had a thought; "Maybe we should stop for some food before we go. Maybe we could make it a picnic?" he offered. Kat, Renee and Avery liked that idea. So they stopped at the Burpin' Burger for takeout. After getting the food, the group headed outside of Royal Woods to the forest location Kat mentioned earlier.

After a half hour of driving, they finally made it to the forest reserve.

As everyone piled out of Avery's jeep, the kids couldn't help but be amazed and astounded by all the colorful and extremely tall trees. It was a stunning view, everyone could agree. 'At least there are no hill people or dumb tarot cards' Lincoln thought as he remembered the last times he was in the woods.

"Alright everyone" Avery called for Lincoln, Kat and Renee's attention. "I say we start with eating our lunch at those picnic tables before going on the walk." It made sense; the food would get cold if they started with the walk. Plus, who knows if there are any hungry animals out there.

So after eating a hearty lunch and doing a few stretches at Avery's request; her words being "It's always good to stretch after a meal especially if one were to go on a long walk to help burn off calories" Lincoln couldn't help but chuckle a little bit. 'Sounds like something Lynn would say only nicer' he thought.

The group then decided to walk on the trail with all the colorful trees first.

Again the kids were in awe of all the trees and the colors on the leaves while Avery walked in small distance behind them. Lincoln noticed this, "Hey Avery, are you okay?" he asked which grabbed Kat and Renee's attention. "Oh, I'm fine" the puffy haired girl replied, "Just trying to make sure my hair doesn't get stuck."

Lincoln, Kat and Renee understand what she meant. After all, if their hair stuck out like a 6 ft beach ball they would be worried too. "Has it ever happened before?" Renee asked. "Unfortunately yes" Avery answered.

(Flashback)

When Avery was in elementary school, her class took a field trip to Grand Venture state park. She and a friend were taking pictures in an open field until her hair got stuck on a low hanging branch. Avery tried to pull but the harder she pulled, the more it hurt her. She finally got free when her friend came back with the teacher and a park ranger to help release her hair from the branch.

"That was the first time I realized that I needed to watch out for my hair. Especially when I'm outside."

Lincoln, Kat and Renee couldn't help but feel a little bad at her story. It's never fun when your hair gets caught on anything. 'And that's exactly why I keep my hair in a ponytail' Renee thought.

As the group went deeper into the trail, they noticed how the trees are so thick that it almost covers all the sunlight giving the scene a bit spooky vibe but at the same time it gave a sense of peace and tranquility.

Deeper and deeper they went; it felt like they have been walking for days. "Uh I'd hate to be a "Debbie Downer" right now, but does anyone know where we are?" Renee asked.

But alas, the only response given was in the form of crickets and leaves rustling on the trees. Then Kat started to shake and hyperventilate. This brought concern to Lincoln and Avery, but Renee has seen this before.

(Flashback)

It was the annual Royal Woods family fun fair. Everything was going smoothly, until Renee got distracted by a clown making balloon animals. Half a second later Renee realized that Kat wasn't next to her anymore. "Kat, where are you?" a six year old Renee called out. Then she started to backtrack to where she saw her last. After 15 minutes, Renee got scared. Until she stopped by a snack bar and saw a certain someone hiding underneath the counter. "Where were you?" Kat asked while still shaking in fear. All Renee could do at the time was hug her until she felt better.

"To make a long story short, we need to find a rest stop" Renee semi-ordered.

As they walk deeper into the forest, they come upon an old cottage. "Kind of random but will work" Renee muttered. When they come to the front door, they find it boarded up. "Crud, how are we supposed to get in?" Avery grunted. Until Lincoln noticed a slightly big hole near the bottom of it, "I think I found a way in but we'll have to do it one at a time." First went Lincoln, then Kat and then Renee.

"Okay Avery, you're all clear!" Lincoln called out.

To say the puffy haired teen was nervous is a huge understatement, but she knew she had no choice. So as Avery tried to crawl through the hole and as she expected, her hair got stuck. Kat, after snapping out of her panic attack rushes over to try to pull Avery in. "Okay girl, bear with me here" she told her friend. As she pulled harder, Kat finally managed to pop Avery inside the cottage.

And then she landed on top of Kat and somehow her hair managed to cover both their bodies.

"Can anyone hear me?" Kat tried to yell, but it sounded more muffled to everyone else.

And then Avery stood up giving the freedom Kat needed. "For puffy and soft hair, that is something I don't want to experience again anytime soon" Kat admitted. "Man, it looks like no one has lived here in ages" Lincoln commented and everyone else nodded in agreement.

And all of a sudden the group heard an ear-piercing howl in the distance.

"Please tell me that isn't what I think it was" Avery muttered. But unfortunately it was. Everyone tried to stay as quiet as humanly possible in hopes that the wolf would simply just go away. But then they got scared again due to noises in the kitchen. Lincoln feeling brave decided to investigate. When he got to the kitchen, he notices a pile of driftwood rustling in the corner. When he uncovered to wood, he found a little baby wolf shivering. Then the snow haired child put the pieces together; the wolf outside must be this baby's mother.

And all she wants is to get her baby out of this cottage and not to eat him and his friends.

"Lincoln, is everything okay in there?" Avery called out to him. "You guys might want to see this." Lincoln answered back. Renee, Kat and Avery then walked into the kitchen and found him hugging the baby wolf. "Aww, where did this little cutie come from?" Kat asked while gushing over the little wolf. "I'm not a 100% sure how long this little guy has been here. But what I do know, is that I'm pretty sure the wolf outside is its mother" Lincoln answered. "We got to get this little guy out then" Renee spoke.

"I think the best way is to go back through the hole we went through" Lincoln deducted.

"But if we're going to reunite the baby with his mother, we need to make that hole bigger" Kat retorted.

As the group searched the cottage to find things to make the hole bigger, Avery managed to find a crowbar. "Perfect" Lincoln told her. And then Lincoln went back over to hole and started to rip apart all the boarded up wood. A few more rips later Kat declared it safe enough to move the baby wolf.

First Kat went with the baby wolf snuggled tight in her arms, and then Renee, Lincoln all who was left was Avery. "I know you're nervous, but we'll help you if you get stuck again" Lincoln told her.

As Avery tried to go through the hole while it was a little bigger, it was no match for her puffed out hair.

Lincoln anticipated this; so he called Renee cover so the two of them could get Avery out. "All together now; one, two, THREE!" it was slightly easier than the last time but it still was no picnic either.

The group managed to find the mother wolf scoping the side of the cottage where the kitchen was.

The mother wolf sensing the humans approaching her stood in defense until she saw Kat carrying her baby. "We mean no harm" Lincoln tried to tell her, "We found him inside the cottage." Then Kat released the baby wolf who took no time rushing over to his mother, who was making sounds of relief seeing her baby is safe.

Renee looked up at the sky and saw that the sun was starting to go down. "I think it's time we found our way back" she commented. Everyone nodded in agreement, so they left the scene while trying not to disturb the wolves. Last thing they needed was to be mauled by wild animals.

Sometime later, the group finally made it back to the picnic area and parking lot. And no one wasted time rushing to Avery's jeep. After a day like today, everyone was happy to be heading back home.

Avery first dropped off Renee since her house was the closest when they got back into town. And then she dropped off Kat who remembered to grab her box from the back.

And then Avery dropped Lincoln off back at his house. Before Lincoln could open the jeep's door, Avery stopped him. "Before you go Lincoln, I want to say thank you for today" she complimented him.

Lincoln then blushed.

"At first I thought my Saturday was going to be totally boring, but then Kat invited me to your place and I got to know you and Renee. It was nice. To be honest, I actually don't have many friends. People usually get extremely annoyed with my hair or try to make fun of it, but not you. You made me feel more comfortable with my hair in these few hours than my own family has in years."

Lincoln was baffled; he didn't think he made that much of an impact on her.

She continued, "I know it must've been a little weird for a 16 year old to be hanging out with elementary school kids, but this was the most fun I've had in a long time. And personally I wouldn't mind doing it again sometime." "Yeah, I'd like that too" Lincoln admitted.

"Well, I'd better get going. I see my parent's van in the driveway. So that means everyone's home now."

As Lincoln began to leave the vehicle, he felt Avery pulling him back in for a strong hug like the one Kat gave him earlier and she snuck a kiss on the cheek which made Lincoln blush even more.

"You be good now" she told him a motherly fashion as she ruffled his hair.

Lincoln tried to ruffle her hair back, ended up his hand stuck. Avery let out a giggle and then helped him get his hand unstuck. Lincoln uttered a thank you in return. "So, to be continued?" he asked her.

She smiled, "To be continued."

Then Lincoln finally left her jeep while waving goodbye to her and her waving back. As he entered the house he was immediately bombarded by his parents and sister demanding to know where he was. It finally occurred to him that he forgot to send a text saying that he was out for the rest of the day.

As Avery drove back home to her house she couldn't help but hope that she would see that adorable snow haired boy again. She sighed, 'If only he was a few years older' she thought to herself.

We find Renee sitting in her room and not surprisingly, she was reading the comic book she bought earlier.

And she too, was hoping that this wouldn't be the last she saw of Lincoln. She couldn't explain it, but there was something about him that intrigued her. Not even in a romantic way, but more like she really wanted to know him better and actually be his friend not rival. 'Every Ace need his Jack' she thought.

Kat was sitting on her bed with her hat and sunglasses by her side and the sacred "Full House gang" box on her lap. She still could not believe that Lincoln was willing to give her all of this without asking anything in return. 'But maybe that's just the kind of person he his' she thought to herself.

As she was looking at all the contents it amazed her how well Lincoln could actually draw. "I can totally see why he and his friend won the publishing contest" she told herself.

Like Avery and Renee, Kat also wanted to spend more time with Lincoln and get to know him better.

As Lincoln was preparing for bed, he was thankful that he wasn't grounded or being punished in some way. All his parents told him was to remember to call when going out. But what his parents and sisters know who he was out with. In Lincoln's defense, he really didn't want his sisters playing matchmaker or Lori going on a rant of he should only be with Ronnie Anne, even though they were never exclusive.

And then he looked to the reader and said, "I can honestly say, that this has been one of the best days I've had in a long time. I'm really glad that I made new friends today and I hope to have more adventures with them"

And Lincoln wasn't wrong; this was only the beginning of him and his girls of nature.

AN: I hope you all enjoy this little story. It was a long and winding road to finish, but I think it did it right.
