Lenne awoke with her favorite book by her side, and she smiled, getting up and shutting off her alarm clock. She knelt by her bed, and sang the Yevon Hymn, before praying peacefully to Yevon for her to guide her singing. She had awoken as early as any other that morning, and knew that the songstress's life was probably more laidback than the Blitzball player's, for she knew Shuyin must've been trained hard and forced to awaken at the crack of dawn for him to be the disciplined hard-worker he was. Lenne had troubles to find her kitchen again, and it took her at least four paths before she finally was led by a wrong turn to find the kitchen. The maid had set up frozen packaged foods neatly placed in a family-sized lunchbox container, where Lenne always had to select her meal, heat it up over the stove, and ate it straight out of the container, since her mother had broken all the precious china dishes and had to send the butler to fetch more from Bevelle. After eating her lukewarm meal, Lenne headed upstairs to dress herself in her school-uniform, and headed off to school.

She kept mostly to herself during the day, never complaining to the teachers, never talking to the students, and sometimes a little unsure about herself. Did she really want to become a summoner? All of her life, she had worked hard to achieve her dreams, certain that she would never find love. She seemed to like that Shuyin guy... but she shouldn't really take a risk, should she? The class was quite interactive, the teachers were all Yevon priests, and they'd teach the basics, such as praying. They would also speak the prophecies and the scriptures of Yevon. The teachings were completely taught by last year to Lenne, but now she had tougher work to do. The tutorers were now teaching her to pray for a soul... which summons an aeon. Lenne had troubles really discovering what an aeon was, and if she really wanted to call it forth. She did not want to see the day an 'angry spirit or soul' destructed the city, terrorizing everything, and gobbling up citizens. Lenne chuckled softly to herself during important lessons whenever she thought of doing a humorous mistake.

Lenne would often refine herself to her dusty library back at home, being the book worm she is, and would spend long, humid summer days turning crumbly ancient pages. It was so boiling and sizzling at day, but so calm and cool at nightfall. She had a growing pile of unfinished books that belonged to her mother, and some from her father that she dug up from the basements and attics, and she took them to bed every night to read... fascinatingly, she discovered some actual books that her father authored. She neglected to house them back in their proper places, and insisted on placing them in the empty drawers in her nightstand, until her mother would scream at her to place them back in the basement and forget about the past. It was true her mother had been devestated since father died, and had grown affectionately attached to the house maid, who comforted her, and they'd do women smalltalk... often Lenne didn't want to stay, or her mother would tell stories of when she was a little girl... she hated those stories, and would rather be talked behind her back.

Lenne had all the troubles of becoming a summoner, reading her books, obeying her mother, doing her chores and duties, and plus, she had a concert to go to! She had nearly forgotten about that. Quickly, she hid her cloak in the closet to conceal the fact from her mother that she had snuck out with her 'girl friend' last night. Lenne just hoped she hadn't caught a cold from Shuyin, since he was dripping wet when they encountered one another... and he touched her hand. She shivered, undressing herself, and putting on her blue songstress outfit that was adorned with white lacings, and a black mini-skirt, with her stylish knee-height boots. She dashed out the door as usual, running down the old forest paths, and heading into town, immediately being recognized... her worst nightmare.

She struggled to enter the stadium, shoving through the cheering crowds and screaming fan-boys and fan-girls of hers... she was horrified, but somehow snuck backstage without slamming the door on someone's arm, which was a first time for her. In the old, boring backstage, her eyes trailed to the microphone, but she did a wise thing: lock the door. She calmly walked to the microphone that was lying on the table. "Are you ready?" the crew asked her, fluffing up her clothes, and running their fingers through her long hair.

"I'm ready." Lenne assured them, politely stopping their actions to make her look presentable enough, for they were reminding her too much of mother... and she wanted to concentrate on only one thing, which happened to be her passion, singing. Standing on the rising platform, she closed her eyes, and she felt the explosion from upstage and the crowd gasp, for it was a mist and steam effect for Lenne's new song that she had written. Shuyin was among the crowd, wearing a cloaked robe, identical to Lenne's, and watching seriously at the amazing show that Lenne was ingeniously about to put on.

Stepping out of the mist, the vibrant colors of the spotlights shone on Lenne, and the crowds went wild to see her face. She grabbed the microphone from her left hand, and smiled, while she let her body move naturally with the music. Shuyin's eyes were constantly scanning the room and were always watching Lenne. She was a little nervous, but nevertheless, she didn't stop dancing, and she put her hand to her heart, opening her eyes, and singing gracefully with an upbeat, joyful rhythm. It was the song she had written after she met Shuyin.

What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
I can hear you

What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?

Far beneath the hazy boarders of my heart
I could see a place
It's something like this
Every now and then I don't know what to do
Still I know that I
Can never go back

All the things I've seen
In those hazy dreams
Can't compare to what I see now
Everything's so different
That it brings me to my knees

And though, I know, the world of Real Emotion
Has surrounded me
I won't give into it
Now I know, that forward
It is the only way my heart can go
I hear your voice calling out to me
You'll never be alone

What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
I can hear you

What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?
What can I do for you?

It was a fact that as Lenne sang, Shuyin did shout at that particular part, when she admitted that she heard his voice calling out to her, and as she said the next line, he did whisper, "You'll never be alone." Maybe it was destiny that brought the young couple together... and maybe they were to eternally be forever.

I don't plan on looking back on my own life
I don't ever plan
To rely I on you
Even if by chance everything should go wrong
You come in one day
And try to save me

If from time to time
It's an upward climb
All I know is that I must believe
Cause the truth I'm seeking
Always was inside of me

And when, I find, the world of Real Emotion
Has surrounded me
The many things that you
Taught me then
Will always be enough to get me through the pain
Because of you I am strong enough
To know I'm not alone

What can I do for you
What can I do for you
What can I do for you
What can I do for you
What can I do for you
What can I do for you
I can hear you

And if, I find, the real world of emotion
Has surrounded me
And I can't go on
And you are there
The moment that I close my eyes
You comfort me
We are connected
For all of time
I'll never be alone

And oh, I know, the world of Real Emotion
Has surrounded me
I won't give into it
Now I know, that forward
Is the only way my heart can go
I hear your voice calling out to me
You'll never be alone

Lenne was relieved that it was over, and she was relaxing as she could hear the crowd requesting an encore. She groaned, too lazy to get back up on the stage. "Do you think I did alright?" she asked her hair-stylist.

"You did marvelous as usual, Lady Lenne!" the hair-stylist replied, causing her to smile slightly at the reply.

"Do you think he liked it?" Lenne asked.

"Who's 'he'?" the hair-stylist asked.

"Um, nobody..." Lenne nervously blurted, unsure if she wanted to reveal his identity quite yet.

"Lenne!" Shuyin swung the doors open, and they hit the walls with loud thumps, which caused him to give a look as if it say 'oops'. He waved nervously at her, and she waved back. The hair-stylist's eyes went big as if she recognized him, and she stepped back to let Lenne come forward to greet Shuyin. "That was amazing! I'm surprised I haven't heard of you before."

Lenne chuckled nervously, "And same with you..." Lenne stood a little closer, shifting her weight properly, and flipping her long hair out so it flowed and cascaded like a watefall over her shoulders, "You play well."

"Yeah, but I can't sing." Shuyin said, and the joke caused them both to laugh.

"Should I leave you two alone?" the hair-stylist asked, standing in her aloof corner.

"Oh, nonsense." Lenne said, "We only met yesterday."

"But it was good." Shuyin said, brushing a hand through her hair. "We vowed to meet again after noticing each other..."

"One wonders how destiny can boggle your mind." Lenne teased to the hair-stylist.

"Ah, yes." the hair-stylist agreed, nodding.

Later, Shuyin and Lenne were both underneath a long cloak, laughing and giggling as they escaped the stadium unnoticed. Lenne didn't know what she saw in Shuyin, but she happened to like it, and same with him.

"You're very beautiful..." Shuyin said, looking dearly into her hazel eyes.

She smiled back at him, "Thank you."

"Remember how we seemed to fall in love at first sight just yesterday?" Shuyin laughed, "It was a total sappy love story."

"I know!" Lenne agreed, laughing with him.

"How old are you, Lenne?" Shuyin asked to bring up a random topic.

"18." Lenne replied.

"Ah." Shuyin smiled, "I'm 19." Lenne laughed at the truth, and Shuyin said, "So we're the perfect age to be a couple!"

"I suppose so." Lenne realized, staring up at the sky, "Do you think it's going to rain?"

"Hmm..." Shuyin said, "Possibly."

There was some silence, as Shuyin looked down to his right to look at Lenne. He saw her expression of wonder, her glittering hazel eyes, and he admired her beauty and graceful poise. He put one arm around her, and he could feel her react in a sudden shock, so he looked back at her to see that she was smiling at him sincirely. "How far is your home from here?"

"About a ten minute's walk." Lenne replied, halting directly at the entrance of the dark woods.

"Isn't it a little creepy!?" Shuyin gasped, looking up at the owls and bats hanging off the tree limbs. He stared at the dead leaves floating to the ground. The path seemed to darken the deeper it went on. "Lenne, are you positively sure this is the way home?"

"Yes." Lenne replied, "I've been here for months, you think I'd forget my way?" she laughed softly, and Shuyin smiled at her optimism... he secretly admired her for that.

"I suppose you're right." Shuyin said, "But please... let me escort you there."

"How come?" Lenne asked, a curious spark in her eye, and Shuyin saw that he had her full attention... the privilege was to grasp her interest.

"It's going to rain, and what if you get lost?" Shuyin asked.

"I'll be fine on my own." Lenne insisted.

"Wait!" Shuyin called suddenly, and unexpectedly, his hand darted out and caught her wrist. Her eyes widened, and she stared curiously up at him... apparently, she couldn't be more attentive than he expected her to be. He gulped, "My home is too far from here... So it'll rain... But at least I know you're safe."

Lenne put her finger to Shuyin's mouth, and smiled, "I'd love for you to stay temporarily at my house."

He was overwhelmed with joy and happiness when he heard those ten words. "Really?" he asked, sure that he wasn't daydreaming. Lenne gave him a funny look and began giggling softly.

"What so funny?" Shuyin asked.

Lenne shook her head, "Oh, nothing..." She tugged on his hand with adventure sparking in her eye, "Come on, Shuyin! Let's go!"

"Uh?" Shuyin laughed as Lenne dragged him down the eerie path that curved mysteriously into darkness. "Lenne, I can't see anything! What if I trip?"

"Then we fall!" Lenne joked, laughing once again. Suddenly, a cold shock came to her bicep, and she stopped suddenly, causing Shuyin to almost run into her.

"Whoa!" Shuyin said, "What's up?"

"..." Lenne was silent as she felt more cold prickly sensations, "It's raining!" She began laughing again, and their happiness rubbed off on each other, as they simultaneously laughed at random times. Their humor intensed to the point where they were laughing for every minor slip or fall, or every little rain droplet they felt on their skin. They both put the long cloak over their heads and raced down the cold and dark path, which Lenne never thought of enjoying so much.

They were out of breath at the mansion's entrance, and it was a gloomy, dark, rainy night, but they were laughing. Shuyin panted, "So this is your house?"

"What?" Lenne was distracted, "Oh, yes, this is it!" she smiled, "Let's go inside..." Shuyin put a hand on her shoulder, she smiled, turning around to face him, "What is it, Shuyin?"

"Thank you."
