Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who or The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

A/N: So, about the "I will write no more" thing...I guess I lied. Though this isn't much more, of course. A review from ChetUnGwan prompted this little follow-up, both because he/she made a good suggestion that I laughed at when thinking about and that because it took minimal effort to write.

For a few seconds about the Doctor's ominous statement, nothing happened. Another few seconds passed and still nothing happened. Nearly a minute went by and nothing continued to happen.

"So, about that whole 'the answer and the question are cancelling each other and the universe out' thing..." Amy remarked, still carefully not phrasing a question, while asking the obvious one.

"Well," the Doctor replied hesitantly. "I guess...that is, the theory that says the universe will be destroyed, leaving something even more bizarre and inexplicable...well, there's another theory that says it's already happened. And if so, maybe Rory was right. Knowing both the Question and the Answer doesn't actually tell us anything, so it doesn't make a difference."

"So, we're safe?" River asked, once again forgetting the rule against questions.

The Doctor gave her a small smile. "Until the next crisis, yes."

Please review, but before you do, be sure to check the original publish date of the fic. I wrote the first chapter long before The Name of the Doctor, so there's no need to point out that Amy and Rory never went to the Fields of Trenzalore and that the Fields are nothing like what I have described here.
