An: Guess who? X3 That's right I'm back again. After all the time some of you may have waited, I finished this. I hope you like it and that it doesn't seem rushed. :33 I'm so sorry again it took so long... :'( Life and my technology addiction got in the way... -.-'
Bulma and Kairana walk in silence most of the way to the bathroom.
When they are almost over to the doorway, Kairana asks, with a puzzled look, "So...do you and Vegeta have any kids? I don't mean to butt in, but I was just curious."
Bulma looks over in surprise, then smiles. "Yep." She says cheerfully. "We have two kids, actually. One is my son, the oldest named Trunks, and our 5 month old daughter Bulla. Goku's wife Chichi is watching over them now in the other wing. I fact, I was hoping to introduce them to you after you get settled here."
Kairana gives a small smile, her eyes somewhat distant and forlorn, looking straight ahead. "Thanks Bulma."
The girl then looks over to the middle-aged woman again. "So where exactly are w-" But before she could finish, she runs into someone.
Quite flustered, Kairana bows frantically. "I-I'm so sorry! I didn't see you in front of me and-"
The figure turns around, his eyes glaring hard at the young miss. Kairana freezes, slightly creeped out by his intimidating sneer. It is Vegeta, clearly annoyed by the girl's very presence in his home. Without a word directly to her, Vegeta grunts and makes his way back down the hall.
"Well then..." The lilac skinned female said, almost bordering sarcasm. "He sure is sociable..."
Bulma lets out an annoyed sigh. "Yep." She says. "He sure is." She points her thumb in his direction where he left. "If you haven't already guessed, that's Vegeta."
Kairana arched her eyebrows. "I had the feeling..."
Bulma, attempting to dismiss the subject, asks, "Say, can't you sense souls nearby? Why didn't you know that Vegeta was in front of you?"
Kairana rubs the back of her neck sheepishly. "Well...yes, but I only can when I really focus on something. Other wise, no. I don't sense a thing."
"Oh I see." Bulma says.
We get to the bathroom and Bulma opens the door.
"Now you wait for a few moments." Bulma says with a wink. "I'll prepare things for you."
The bathroom was separated into two parts. One part had a laundry area with a balcony outside and the other side had the typical bathroom things including a frosted glass shower. The walls were white and the tiles were styled to look almost like chrome with a bluish silver gleam. On the side of door was a control panel used to open and close the door.
"May I sit on the balcony for a moment?" Kairana asks.
"Sure thing!" Bulma yells from the shower room. With that Kairana walks outside.
When she gets out, it is almost sundown and the sky glowed of a sunkist orange and light magenta. Kairana smiles. Its been a long time since she could stare into the sun like this. Well, not directly at it. She would go blind if she did that. But in her peripheral vision, she could see a nice view of the city and the sun peaking behind two skyscrapers.
As she watches, Kairana begins to think about all of those events that happened today. What were the odds of those two men finding her? Of course, if they hadn't found her, she would probably have died from the intense heat and for not treating her wound. Heck, she wouldn't have been able to ponder any of this either. But she can, and for that she made a mental note to properly thank Goku and Gohan. Not to mention apologize to everyone for breaking down like she did earlier.
Kairana still didn't get what happened. She never broke down like that, at least not around other people. She sighs in frustration. "What the heck is wrong with me? Am I finally going insane?" She looks down sadly. "I have been able to deal with the loss for so long now... You'd think after 8 years of wandering on my own that I'd be used to it. After so many years of-"
Bulma opens the door happily, interrupting my train of thought. "Shower is ready!"
She jumps, looking back quickly. When she realizes its Bulma, she begins to laugh nervously. "You could have warned me first."
Bulma grins sheepishly. "Heh heh... Sorry about that."
"Oh, it's no problem really." She says dismissively as she walks to the shower room's doorway. "Anyways, I'll be out in a few minutes."
Bulma nods with a smile, and leaves her to relax under the warm water.
Kairana sighs blissfully when she realizes how much she really missed a warm shower. Sure the occasional streams and waterfall were okay, but the warm water tended to relax her a bit more. After all that happened this day, Kairana was thankful for the sudden hospitality the others had shown her. In fact, she was very confused why they were being so kind to her.
She shrugs it off though and focuses on getting clean. After about 15 minutes, she stops the water and walks over the mat outside the shower door, drying her body and hair with a towel. After drying off, she clothes herself with a fluffy red robe hanging on a nearby rack and walks out into the laundry room.
When Kairana walked out Bulma is sitting on the balcony waiting for her. The electric blue haired woman smiles and walks back in with clothes in her hand.
"Good, your out!" She passes a shirt and jeans to the girl. "Now, I know this is sorta basic, but I didn't know what you'd be comfortable in."
Kairana shakes her head with a smile. "N...no. It's perfect. Thank you Bulma."
Bulma smiles and begins to walk out again. "I'll go ahead and let you get dressed. Come out when ever your ready."
Kairana nods, and Bulma closes the door behind her.
The young woman puts her clothes on and looks at herself in the mirror. She had cuts on her arm and her neck as well as a bruise on her forehead from her falling face down on the ground when she fainted earlier. She looked like a mess, but she didn't care. She was alive, and she still had working limbs.
However, she began to wonder whether she'd be accepted by everyone here. They seemed okay by her now, but Kairana worried after earlier events that she'd have to run away again. Heh...running. That seemed to be all she's done these past few years. It was a tiresome living, but it seemed like it was the only way she could make it in this world. She was a freak, an outcast.
With one last sigh, she tried to put on her most convincing smile and walked out to meet with Bulma. Bulma looks at her and grins.
"Now that's more like it. Don't you feel better now?"
Kairana shrugs, still wearing her fake smile. "Better than before."
Bulma nods. "Good. Now follow me. I'll go ahead and show you to your room."
Kairana nods back. "Lead the way."
They make their way down the hallway and up a stair case. When they get to the bed room door, Bulma opens it. It is a medium sized room with a full sized bed, a dresser with a lamp, small bathroom, and two widows on either side of the bed.
Kairana's mouth drops. "This is your guest room...?"
Bulma chuckles. "What, were you expecting a closet?"
"N-no not at all." Kairana rubs the back of her neck. "Just wasn't expecting this."
Bulma smiles. "It's really no problem at all. Its not like your taking any one's room or something."
Kairana sighs. "I guess not." She smiles back. "Thanks...I really appreciate it."
Bulma nods. "Not a problem. You go ahead and get settled in. Be sure to be down back into the living room in a few moments though."
Kairana tilts her head in curiosity. "To meet the others?"
Bulma giggles. "Well that, but I also want to make sure you get some new clothes."
Kairana isn't exactly enthusiastic about shopping, but she fakes a smile. "Oh, alright then." She begins to close the door. "See you in a few minutes."
When the two exchange goodbyes, Kairana closes the door and lets out a sigh. She instantly walks to the bed and flops down on it, enjoying the softness. Eventually, she found herself drifting into a dreamless sleep. About one in a half hours into the nap, she is woken up by a voice.
"M-Ma'am? Its time to wake up."
When Kairana is up, she looks over and sees two little boys. One has lilac shaded hair and blue eyes, the other looking like a miniature version of the man who found her. She assumed this was the two little boys that Bulma talked about earlier.
The black haired boy smiled. "Hey Trunks, she finally woke up!"
The lilac haired boy sighed. "About time. I thought she'd never get up..."
Kairana looked at them, slightly puzzled. Almost in response, the black-haired boy looks down sheepishly.
"O-oh... I'm sorry. My name's Goten and this is my friend Trunks."
Trunk nods and Goten stares at Kairana.
"Wow Trunks, your mom wasn't kidding when she said this lady was beat up." Goten then grins. "Are you a fighter like our dads?"
Kairana shakes her head and chuckles. "No...no I'm no fighter. Also, its nice to meet you two. My name's Kairana."
Goten smiles grows. "Hey, that's a pretty cool name! Anyway, Mrs. Briefs wanted me to come up and tell you that dinner was almost ready."
Kairana nods, smiling politely. "I see. I'll be down in a minute."
When the two little boys left, Kairana decided to neaten herself up a bit. Once she does, she walks down the stairs.
When she got down stairs, she put on a relaxed smile.
"Hey everyone. What going o-"
She suddenly felt someone slam into her and a very shrill voice yelling, "Hands off me you perv!"
Kairana groans and tries to sit up. When she does, there is Roshi, head between her chest making the girl let out a little panicked yelp.
Face pink, she says in a flustered voice, "Excuse me, can you please get off me?"
Roshi in response just begins snuggling her chest, a perverted smile on his face.
"So heavenly~! Thank you dear gift for breaking my fall..."
"E-Excuse me?!" Kairana was now getting very frustrated by Roshi's behavior. Her face went from a pink to a deep, tomato red. Annoyed, she tries to force a smile, voice on the edge of anger. "Roshi was it? I will ask this one last time. Get. The hell. Off me!"
When Roshi does not comply, something in this girl snaps and she grabs the man's throat, squeezing it hard. She then gets up with the weezing man in her hands, walks outside, and throws him full power at a tree. When Roshi hits it, he lets out a very pained yelp, falling face first to the ground.
Kairana dusts her hand, satisfied by her work. When she walks in, Bulma lets out a impressed grin and chuckle.
"Wow. Not bad Kairana! You sure showed that old pervert what for!"
The white-haired girl smirks and confirms with a nod. "Yep. Somebody had to, and I wasn't going to let him harass me like that."
Bulma fist pumps, grinning widely. "You go girl!"
Everyone else in the room just stared.
This was going to be interesting...
A/N: Aaaaand that's finally finished. :3 Again, apologies for taking so long... And I'm sorry there really wasn't much action here like there was last chapter. I wanted this to be the development kind of chapter so the story doesn't seem too rushed. Never the less, I hope you liked it. If you have any suggestions on how to improve this chapter or earlier chapters then let me know in a review. :3
Thanks for being patient and may your days be filled with adorable mini Shenrons! :D
