"I now pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride"The priest smiled brightly as the doves previously hidden began to be let out into the sky flying past them.
'He's not going to seriously… Oh crap he is! Run! Escape!'Haruhi thought as she looked over to Kyoya who seemed to be either a very good actor or far to scared to show it.
"Close your eyes"Kyoya whispered softly as he placed his hand against her back and pulled her towards him. His arms wrapped around her waist as he tilted his head down to kiss her. He curled her body away from the guests hoping to hide she of her obvious confusion.
"Don't be afraid, if they see your scared it'll be harder to explain this later"His voice was gentle, like she'd never heard from him before, so she closed her eyes trusting him. He was gentle and soft but to the guests it seemed like he was giving her a passionate kiss filled with love.
'I think.. he might be better at this then Tamaki, then again I'm not that great'Haruhi thought as she relaxed allowing him to lead her through the performance that would save her from the embarrassment of being stood up.
-Reception—
"Everyone may I have you attention"Kyoya stood up as he looked over to the room full of people before them. They now sat in the ballroom of the Tokyo Peninsula hotel. The ceremony had gone by well without Kyoya or Haruhi leading on that anything was wrong and so the guests simply ignored the fact that it had been assumed she was marrying Tamaki.
"Thank you all for coming today, I apologize for my lateness to the ceremony this morning. My lovely wife and I would like you all to enjoy your time today"Kyoya smiled that host smile that he had kept with him throughout the years. Him and Haruhi sat alone on the stage together eating at the round table placed before them. All eyes seemed to be on them.
Kaoru and Hikaru were walking around the hall with Mori and Hunny, all of them talking to different CEOs that Tamaki had previously invited.
"Haruhi if you don't eat their going to assume you're not happy"Kyoya whispered to her softly as he reached across the table and took her hand in his. A few of the people who witnessed this giggled at the sight of it, he was playing the part well.
"Something is wrong, Tamakis being an asshole and not here"Haruhi mumbled to herself softly as she gripped his hand tighter allowing him to keep connect to her. She felt the touch of his lips on her hand, causing her to jump.
"Haruhi as your husband I'm asking you, for the sake of saving face here act happy till we reach the limo"
-12 midnight—
"What the hell Kyoya!"Hikaru nearly lunged at him, if it wasn't for the fact that Kaoru was holding he around the waist. Once all the guests had left Hikaru began to unleash his fury. It was obvious to all the hosts how Hikaru felt about Haruhi.
"Haruhi sweetheart isn't this wonderful, now you have a real man"Ranka had spent most of the ceremony drinking and singing with other guests and slumped against the limo seat.
"It was a matter of either saving Haruhi or allowing her to suffer the public scandal that would have affected her career"Kyoya leaned back against the plush white seats in the limo that had been made specially for them. Hikaru and Kaoru sat across from Mori and Hunny. He let his arm wrap around Haruhis shoulder as she slumped down in her seat.
"But anyone of us could have done it instead!"Hikaru argued obviously unhappy with Haruhi becoming Kyoyas bride. He had already struggled with it when she began to date Tamaki, but was able to accept it since it was Tamaki. Kyoya was a whole other story. He was a monster, kind of.
"Hunny is betroved and so is Mori, as for you and Kaoru, I highly doubted that either of you could settled for letting the other down that aisle without a fight"Kyoya looked at Hikaru and Kaoru who both suddenly seemed to understand. Hikaru let out a grunt in defeat.
"Kyoto you're not serious about this are you?"Haruhi couldn't help but feel uncomfortable with this whole situation. She had never thought of Kyoya in the romantic sense, he had always been a dear friend but most importantly he was Tamakis best friend.
"Otoori men don't divorce Haruhi, nore do we remarry unless it is necessary"Kyoya held a sly grin on his face as he looked down at her. She was trapped, fully trapped in the tangled web he had weaved around her the moment she said I do.
"Sir we're here"The driver pulled to a stop as he opened the door for Kyoya and Haruhi to step out
"We'll see you in a month, please ensure Ranka gets home safe"Kyoya pulled Haruhi out of the limo and looked at Mori and Hunny who both nodded.
While they knew Kyoya did want Ranka to get home safely, they also had another duty. If wasn't long ago that the Souh family had made a partner ship to acquire body guards from Hunny and Moris dojo, meaning that at least one of their previous students would know where Tamaki was.
"Where are you two going!"In perfect unison the twins looked out the sunroof to see a helicopter with the Otoori family crest on it waiting for them. The last thing either of them wanted with Haruhi to be forced into alone time with him. They weren't just worried about her health but also about her sanity.
"Our honeymoon of course, it'd be strange if we didn't go"Kyoya dragged Haruhi off to the helicopter that began to start up. She stood there still in her wedding dress as Kyoya helped her up into the pair of seats that had been built to seat them comfortably. The honeymoon was originally supposed to be a trip to Europe so Tamaki would be able to visit his mother and father during some point, however Haruhi knew that plan was far out the window now.
She waved goodbye to her friends and her father who was blowing kisses to her. When he sobered up he'd most likely be calling her.
"Are you ready for take off sir?"The pilot asked as the doors closed. Kyoya buckled Haruhi in after she had been unable to do so herself, although she had composed herself since the ceremony, the entire ordeal had still shaken her.
"Yes, and I'd like the window rolled up"The pilot nodded and pressed a button as a large sound proof black window rose to divide them from the pilot. It wasn't an unusual feather in private helicopters to have a privacy window, however it seemed unneeded in this case.
With an obvious separation from the pilot Haruhi let out a sign of relief. She pulled her high heels off and began to rub her swollen ankles, silently cursing the maker of heels and Tamaki. The original wedding was supposed to involve a foot wear change into stylish flats to help support her feet but in the mess she had forgotten to switch them out.
"I apologize for that kiss, it lasted a bit longer then I had intended"Kyoya removed his glasses and began to whip them as Haruhi rested back against the seat trying to get comfortable in her dress.
After placing his glasses back on Kyoya reached down and grabbed her feet, swinging her to rest them on top of his lap. Haruhi began to protest but was met with a hushing sound from him. She watched as he removed ice from the cooler and wrapped it in a towel, gently placing the against her swollen ankles. A sign of relief escaped her lips.
"I didn't mind, but why do all this? What do you have to gain"She let her eyes warner to the tinted black windows that revealed only an outline of the clouds around them. They had been flying for about 30 minutes now but she felt this would be a long flight, but at the moment she didn't really mind.
"Nothing I suppose, perhaps I your companionship but that has no monetary gain"Kyoya smiled slightly at the thought, he had done something for only her with no real gain to it. This wasn't something he would do for just anyone, after all without Tamakis power she would just be a lawyer, while that did offer some merit to him, it was well known he had other options.
"That doesn't sound like you"Haruhi couldn't help but question his intentions, he had nothing to gain from her yet he still saved her. If one of the twins had stepped in then she could see it being an act of kindness, but kindness wasn't exactly Kyoyas style.
He was cold, cruel and powerful.
Or at least that's how the world saw him
Haruhi knew different, he was kind, he was caring, he was always pretending to be strong
"A lot of things haven't sounded like me lately"
An with that Haruhi let herself slip into sleep for the remainder of their ride
-Honey Moon suit—
"You're kidding me right?"Haruhi stared in complete awh at the room before them. The bed sat in the middle of the room and was in the shape of a heart with red stain sheets. The lights had been dimmed and roses covered the floor for them leading towards the bed. The bathroom was enormous and had a hot tub big enough to fit 20 people. Not to mention to view from the windows that had been build as one-way glass.
Even to her surprise Kyoya had been kind enough to carry her through the door way, not princess style but it was still nice of him. She hadn't woken up until they landed and was surprised to find Kyoya carrying her with his butler walking behind him. She could hear whispering followed by the sound of guns loading as foot steps ran fast them. The hotel was obviously being cleared for security purposes, if there was one thing Kyoya enjoyed it was privacy.
"Is this not to your liking? The original destination would have required a 8 hour flight but it you preferred the original then we can leave now"Kyoya withdrew his phone full prepared to have a plane ready for them but Haruhi shook her head. She was exhausted even after sleeping during the helicopter ride.
When her feet touched the thick carpet she felt like a child running through a field of pillows, she even gave a small twirl in her wedding dress.
"No way! It's so nice here! And I bet they have the best fancy tuna!"Haruhi ran towards the bed and jumped down on it. To her surprise she practically fell asleep right then and there from how amazingly soft and fluffy it was.
Kyoya closed the door and walked towards the bed. It was california king, large enough for both of them so he simply flopped down next to her. The day had been something of a surprise for him too, while he found out of Tamakis departure before Mori, he still needed to quickly arrange things.
He had changed so many things he was surprised it was all done in time. The cake topper was changed, the seating arrangements, the video photographer, the name on the wedding favors, practically everything about the reception had needed to be changed in moments. No one else would have been able to pull it off.
"I'm going to be doing some work Haruhi, if you need anything come find me"Kyoya rolled himself off the bed and withdrew his laptop from one of the suit cases. He walked into a room which she had assumed had been made into a study for them. The day was not yet done for him.
Haruhi continued to lay there for awhile, enjoying the feeling of the cushy bed. She had been living at him for the last 2 nights and sleeping in her old bedroom, something that was apparently traditional but made her miss the comfy bed. If there was one gift she loved from dating Tamaki, it was having a nice bed.
"I guess it wouldn't hurt to take a bath"Haruhi walked over to her suit cases to find that all her things had already been placed in the dressers and had ever all been folded beautifully so she took her time slowly going through it. However she began confused quickly, not recognizing most of the clothing.
"…there's no way I'm wearing this"Haruhi opened the top dresser to find that all that had been brought for her to sleep in was the skimpiest lingerie that no doubt Hikaru had designed. Everything was sheer and sparkly, there was one that didn't even look like clothing but reminded her of that string bikini they once showed her.
Trying not to mess up the work the maids had gone through, Haruhi continued to push through the clothing hoping to find something decent. It was one thing if she had to wear those in front of Tamaki but Kyoya was another story.
"I could just wear some of his clothes.. but that'd be a little weird"Haruhi sat there holding the purple nearly see through lacey night grown that had to be the most covering thing in that drawer.
It was at the very bottom of the pile, obviously it was hidden and likely placed in there by Kaoru. Hikaru may not have liked her engagement to Tamaki but he had loved to tease her about anything sexual, Kaoru on the other hand was much shyer.
She opened the other dresser and looked to see almost nothing but dress shirts in Kyoyas drawer. It wouldn't be the first time she wore a dress shirt to sleep but it still felt awkward to her. Returning to her first choice she kept the purple night gown and closed his drawer.
'He won't care anyway'
An with that Haruhi settled into a nice bath
-Kyoya—
"Any word yet?"Kyoya stared at his laptop screen as Hunny and Mori both nodded no. They had both been working endlessly to find Tamaki through their connections and it showed. Hunny normally slept for at least 10 hours a day but he was not likely to sleep tonight, there was a fire in his eyes.
Hunny's finance would be seen walking around behind them on the phone, she was still in close connection with Nekozawa and likely using his underworld connections for help. Next to her was Kasanoda and Mai, while Mai and him had married a few yeas ago and with his yakuza connections he was a good choice to help in the hunt. You could almost hear the rage in his voice by the pulsing vein on his head. They had insisted all the help they could without giving anything away to the public.
"Sorry Kyo-chan, but we already had people check his vacation homes in America"Huny and Mori both looked at Kyoya who seemed to be getting an intense head ache. He had hoped that Tamaki wouldn't be this difficult to find, he was after all an idiot.
An idiot was an insane amount of wealth to keep people quite
The thought alone made his head want to explode
"I see, if you get any new information on him please contact me"Kyoya pressed the escape button on his key board and the screen went blank. His head was pounding with the headache he had gained from all the stress of today. Between Tamaki missing and keeping the press quite to save Haruhis good name, it was insane.
A deep sigh escaped his lips as he rested back against the chair. It was perhaps the most comfortable chair in the world but right now it might as well have been made of bricks.
"There is no aspire strong enough to fight off that mans stupidity"Kyoya walked back out into the room to find that Haruhi was in the shower. He didn't think twice about it and rested down against the bed. Pulling his tie off and kicking off his shoes he attempted to undo the knots of pain forming in his back.
Idiot.
Idiot.
Idiot.
Fucking Moron!
He was going to get permanent wrinkles from the stress
"Do you need a back rub or are you stretching?" Haruhi stood here at the door blow drying her hair. Even for being 6 months pregnant she was surprisingly thin, it seemed the only weight she gained was in her stomach that wasn't protruding out as much as it did for most women. But with her small boyish figure he wasn't surprised she didn't bloat up.
Looking over his shoulder he couldn't help but feel a bit surprised. She stood there drying her hair with an innocent enough look on her face but her outfit was much more revealing then he had expected.
He looked over to the chair beside her and noticed her wedding dress hanging, making a mental note to have the maid take it back to his estate.
"I'm just tense… what are you wearing? Isn't that a bit inappropriate"Kyoya removed his glasses and placed them on the night stand as he looked back at her. She moved towards the bed and shrugged obviously not seeing what was wrong with her wearing that around him. The last thing she thought about was him having any type of attraction to her. She was a pregnant women and Tamaki hadn't even been able to touch her since she announced her pregnancy.
'It's inappropriate it's not already on the floor'Kyoya thought as he watched her come up behind him, her hands rested against his back as his eyes scanned her body
Mentally slapping himself for thinking about her in 'that' way while she was obviously going through a lot, he glanced away from her.
"Believe it or not this is actually the most covering night gown, I know it's a bit awkward but I know it won't distract you"Haruhi pressed her hand against his back instantly feeling the knots in his muscles through his dress shirt. While he had removed the actual blazer part in the helicopter he hadn't actually dressed down yet, then again she couldn't image him really 'dressing down'. The most relaxed thing she's ever seen him in were swim trucks which also seemed to be made excessively expensive material.
Haruhi pressed her fingers down into his shoulders like she used to do for her father and was shocked by how solid he was. She might as well have been touching rock.
"Do you ever relax?"Haruhi questioned as she helped him unbuttoned his shirt and let it fall to the floor. Obviously too tired or stressed to really care about the implications of the situation, after all they were married now. An if nothing else he should at least attempt to relax for the night before he dies from the stress.
The feeling of her warm hands against his back was nicer then any professional massage he had ever received. He generally did have massages done every week to help with the tension but they never left him that relaxed.
"That is a luxury even I can not afford, running a company is very difficult"Kyoya closed his eyes enjoying the way he way she slowly began to undo the knots in his back. He thought back to all the nights be spent alone in his office working away, it was true he enjoyed his work to a degree. However it was endless work, there was always something that needed to be done when you ran a company alone.
There were very little people he trusted to help him with private business, not even his own brother or father had a place in his company.
"You really should relax you know, it's no wonder you always have headaches"Haruhi smiled slightly as she could feel him starting to slowly unwind. Once she was sure every knot was gone she had laid herself down onto the bed
"Goodnight Haruhi, I believe I'll be able to sleep well tonight"Kyoya turned the lights off and crawled into bed with her. The covers draped over them as they laid there in silence
The awkwardness of the situation began to sit in for him as he noticed how silent she was
"Are you cold?"Kyoya eyes readjusted to the dark as he could see Haruhi shivering form slightly
"I'm not used to having such a cold sheet"Haruhi commented on the stain silk that was in deed cold. She had always used comforters, even after living with Tamaki he had allowed her to continue using them.
She curled her legs up and took a deep breath to try and warm up.
"It's not wise for a pregnant women to be cold"Kyoya moved closer to her and held her against him tightly allowing her to warm herself up. She placed her hands against his chest as he rubbed her back. He could have just turned down the AC but this was a much more comfortable solution for both of them at the moment.
"Thank you Kyoya, you've done a lot for me today"Haruhi pressed her cheek against him as she closed her eyes
"I did it for myself Haruhi, think nothing of it"Kyoya simply replied as he held her there, the feelings he had long ignored for Tamakis sake seemed to slowly push themselves back to the surface
"What do you mean?"Haruhi whispered softly unsure of that he was going to say. They laid there in silence for a bit longer as her body slowly warmed
'For an Otoori I am a coward'Kyoya thought as he took a breath and spoke
"I...I care about you"
