DISCLAIMER: I own nothing
I open my eyes to see white walls, and a white bed. A hospital room, it seems. I look down and see that I'm wearing hospital clothes, like the ones Harry Potter wore in the second movie. I then remember what happened outside my home, and I breathe a sigh of relief, knowing I didn't die. That relief we soon replaced by fear, at the realization that I'm in an unfamiliar area.
Where the fuck am I?
"Oh!" I turned at the sound and see an elderly woman wearing what looks to be a medical outfit. She smiled at me. "It's good to see you awake. You've been in a coma for 3 weeks. Let me just alert the headmaster." She leaves the room, leaving me to my thoughts.
I took a few deep breaths and got up off the bed. The ground sure is cold right now.
Thank God I'm wearing pajamas instead of a hospital gown, so at least I don't get frostbite.
I take a look around the room, hoping to figure out where exactly I am. Where's all the technology? You'd think there would be computers and TVs in an American hospital.
I look through the big window behind me, just to see how it looks outside.
Well now. At least the view's pretty good. I can see a lake, with the water crashing against the rocks. It would make for a nice desktop background.
"Ah, I hope you're enjoying the view?" A man asks, causing me to jump and quickly turn around. Seeing purple robes, pointy hat, and a really long beard, I think this dude must really like Dumbledore. "My apologies for startling you. I am Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts."
I just stare at him in shock.
…nani?
"And who might you be young man?" he asks me. I'm not really sure on whether or not I should believe him, but the cosplay looks too real.
Shit. What should I say? He was still a stranger.
"Um, Cygus. Cygus Lorman." I say, opting to choose my username for video games. "Ah!" Dumbledore exclaims. "You're on the Hogwarts Charter list for incoming first years. And I do say, it's been quite a while since an American was selected to study at Hogwarts. Ilvermorny has very similar curriculum to ours."
Wait. First year?
I shrug and scratch the back of my head, not being sure on what else to do.
"I do say, it's getting rather chilly in here." Dumbledore pulls out a stick (The Elder Wand?) and waves it around a bit, making the air warmer. "There now. I do believe that's better," he says jovially.
Hold the fuck up. Did he just-
"Was that magic?" I ask with astonishment at what just happened. He said I was on the Hogwarts Charter. I'm a wizard? "Yes, and I just cast a simple warming charm on us both." He replies. "Although I did find it strange when I received a letter containing your Gringotts vault key. I shall fetch it for you some time later in the day."
"Um, okay." I reply, dumbfounded at having a bank vault. "What happens now?" I ask, hoping that all of this was an elaborate prank and that my mom will show up soon to take me home.
Dumbledore sighed. "I'm sorry my boy. I didn't know who to contact about your predicament, so I was hoping that you would be able to help once you woke up."
I nod. "Makes sense." Not really.
Dumbledore waved his wand, making a chair appear. He sat on it and gave me a look. "In the past two thousand years since this castle was built, no one, and I mean no one has been able to get inside Hogwarts without my knowledge. Now," He stood up and pointed his wand at me, making me tense up in fear. "who are you really?"
I close my eyes and take a deep breath, trying to calm down and figure out what to tell him.
And so I told him of what I knew.
I looked him in the eye. "You're gonna want to sit down for this." He conjured a chair, sat down, and I began my tale.
"Cygus Lorman is an alias I randomly came up with one day. My true name is (Yeah, you're not getting my name.), and...I'm from another world, a world where the entire Wizarding World-" I gesture to our surroundings. "-exists as fiction."
I told him how much of an impact the Harry Potter franchise made to me and my world, and I told him all I could remember about Harry Potter and his adventures throughout his school days at Hogwarts.
I sat down on my hospital bed as soon as I was finished. A moment passed before Dumbledore took a deep breath and spoke softly. "By Merlin...one horcrux is bad enough, but seven? He drew his wand at me, and my eyes widened, fearful of him obliviating me. "This...this is a lot to take in. I'm sorry, but I need proof that what you say is true. I assume you're familiar with Legilimency?" I nod, to which he smiles. "That's good. I just need you to make eye contact with me now." I look at him, and I immediately feel a tingling sensation in my head. it only lasted for a few seconds, as Dumbledore broke eye contact and slumped down on his chair, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Okay. I shall figure out what to do with this information later, but for now, I'm feeling quite famished. Would you fancy a trip to the Great Hall?"
I nod, and he transfigures my hospital clothes to a sweater and pants before I follow him outside.
