Some time ago, when Right and his friends were still holding their adult forms, still flush with victory over the Shadow Line, they were also nursing the fallen emperor in one of the Rainbow Line sleeping cars. It's only been a few days since the final battle, but his wounds had healed, with inhuman speed. Even the terrible puncture of his stomach has closed, leaving a tender pink scar in the shape of a star. Ticket grouses continually about having him on board, though the Conductor actually supports the idea, spouting something about balance and new beginnings that the ToQgers don't really understand but agree with anyway for the sake of quieting Ticket. Wagon, to absolutely no one's surprise, makes an enthusiastic nurse.

Although Zett's surface wounds have healed, the effort seems to have claimed what little strength remained in him and he is unconscious most of the time. His vitals are stable, but he is stiller and somehow fainter than one should be in natural sleep, rarely waking on his own. When he does wake, he is quiet and watchful, but it is a pale imitation of his usual hawk like attention. His gaze still follows Right around the cars, though he looks exhausted even as he does it. The Rainbow Line is sheltering him, but even with the blinds drawn tight, it seems that its very nature is too bright for him to recover there.

One day, when they are ready to go home, they wake him and Right offers him a warm, dark place to sleep. They ask him if he wants to go home with Right. It's something they have discussed at length and finally, everyone has agreed that it's the best option. They explain all this to Zett, and he seems to listen. At any rate, he stares fixedly at Right while he talks, though Zett's gaze goes slowly unfocused and slides somewhere to the left twice, and Right has to gently pat his cheek to get him to refocus. When they're finished, a long silence stretches. Finally, Zett nods faintly and hums in agreement. Right beams and busies himself tucking the cocoon of blankets tighter around Zett's shoulders and smoothing the creases out at his collarbone. Zett for his part, just let's his eyes slide closed and drops back off to sleep.

Zett sleeps all the way to Right's house. He doesn't even wake up when Akira carries him upstairs to Right's room. While it would probably be polite to introduce the two guests, (especially since one will be staying a while), they have deliberately timed the move to avoid their hosts entirely. Right's family is out, his grandfather is getting groceries, and his mother is at the park with his little brother and sister. As far as they know, Right is playing with his friends at the secret base. In a way, he supposes he is, as they step off the rainbow line for what may be the last time for a while. ToQgers one through five are all their proper ages again. It's the age they're meant to be, so it shouldn't feel strange really, but Right thinks that it will take a while before the grip of things feels right in his much smaller hands again. Certainly Akira isn't meant to be that much taller than him!
