A/N: I own nothing this is just for fun.

Gajeel awoke to the sounds of retching. He could smell that breakfast had been made. With a groan Gajeel sat up and swung his legs out of the bed. Standing he pulled a black short sleeved shirt that had a silver dragon on the chest. As he walked to the bathroom the smell of the bile hit his poor nose. Gajeel's eyes began to water. "Oi, Munchkin you how you feeling?" Gajeel asked the small bluenette that was huddled next to the toilet. Upon his entrance into the bathroom she lifted her head with a groan and began to shake her head no. Suddenly her head was once again in the toilet as once more she began to retch. Gajeel winced as the smell of bile hit his nose. His heart went out to his poor munchkin. She had not been feeling well last night and now it looks like her system was still fighting whatever made her ill with a vengeance. Once she was done Gajeel bent down and scooped her into his arms. "Come, Sweetie. Let's get you some water and medicine then you and I can go back to bed and snuggle." The small bluenette gave a weak nod of her head.

After getting some water and medicine for his sick little shrimp and his plate of breakfast Gajeel sat down on the bed with his back against the head board of the bed. His food sat on the nightstand while he gave his munchkin her medicine. He gave a small "Gihi" as her face grimaced from the taste. Before she moved to cuddle against Gajeel's stomach she weakly asked "Polino?" Gajeel sighed "Hang on, Baby let me go get him. You left him on your bed."

"No, Daddy" was the weak reply. Another sigh before Gajeel picked up his six year old daughter into his arms. "Come on, Sweetie lets go get Polino from your room then we can snuggle in bed until Momma gets home tonight." The little girl gave a nod of her head "M'k" was the mumbled reply. As the duo returned to the bedroom the little girl snuggled into her father's chest, her stuffed fairy tucked under her left arm; the small child fell into a fitful sleep. Gajeel's heart went out to his poor daughter. Gajeel was grateful that Levy was only going on a day trip with Jet and Dory. Team Shadow Gear was on a day mission to provide security for a book merchant. Gajeel remembered last night when his daughter began to feel ill. Levy had almost backed out until Gajeel said he would be more than willing to watch his little munchkin no matter how sick she was come morning. Levy was the hesitant mother who did not want to leave her child while sick, but Gajeel knew that Levy needed to take a job since she had been home with their daughter almost non-stop since her birth.

As noon approached Gajeel slipped out of his bed leaving his daughter to sleep while he made a small bowl of chicken soup for his little girl. He knew she would need to eat and take some more medicine. Just as Gajeel finished making lunch he heard he daughter awaken "Mommy? Daddy?" she weakly called out. "I will be right there, Munchkin just hang on one second." As Gajeel entered the room carrying a wooden tray he was greeted with the sight of his daughter nestled in the pillows at the head of the bed with her dragon under her arm. "You feeling any better, Munchkin do think you could eat some of this I made ya?" His daughter gave a nod of affirmation. Gajeel walked over to his daughter setting the tray across her lap "Careful it is still a little on the hot side."

The little girl gave a nod that she understood. Gajeel watched as his daughter slowly blew on the spoonful soup before eating. While the six year old slowly ate her lunch Gajeel studied his daughter's features. She had her mother's crazy light blue hair, petite nose, and small sweet mouth; she possessed her father's cheekbones, chin, and her eyes were indeed red, but not the blood red of her father they were a warm cherry color. Gajeel still had a hard time believing that this sweet, smart, and innocent child was of his flesh.

Just as lunch was finished Levy and Lily returned home from the mission. Gajeel was in the kitchen washing the dishes from lunch. He turned looking over his shoulder, smiling at the wife and partner walking door together. Lily had tagged on with Levy on Gajeel's request as some extra muscle. Gajeel knew that Jet and Dory had improved over the years, but he had issues entrusting his wife into the sole hands of the two mages. To many times Levy had come home with cuts, bruises, and broken limbs from protecting the two. Gajeel had only became more paranoid after he had married Levy and then once more after his daughter had been conceived and born.

"How is she feeling" was the first thing out of Levy's mouth after she gave Gajeel a kiss on the cheek. "Poor thing was puking her guts up this morning. She just finished her lunch and took some more medicine she is asleep right now." Gajeel's heart once again broke for his child as he watched Levy's face turn sympathetic for her daughter. Gajeel and Levy made their way into the back bedroom. As the couple entered their daughter woke up "Mommy? Daddy?" she asked rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Hey, baby Momma's home. Was Daddy a good nurse for you today?" Levy asked as she wrapped her daughter into her arms. The little girl gave a nod before drifting off once more now that she was in her mother's embrace once more. Gajeel wrapped his arms around his two bluenettes glad to have his family. Lily drifted into the room before curling up on the pillows to the right of Levy. The Iron Dragon was grateful for his family and knew that his daughter was finally starting to feel better as he heard her breathing become steady for the first time today.
