Disclaimer: I'm an 11-year-old in Grade 6. Do the math.
Gaius took a deep breath. "My real name... is Henry Halloway. I lived in America with my father, my mother and my older sister, Regina, until I was seven. It all went downhill from there."
(A/N: From now on, Gaius will be referred to as Henry.)
Henry paused.
"Our mother abandoned us. Packed up and left without so much as a goodbye. We were devastated. Reggie - that's what we all called Regina - became a sort of second mother to me."
He smiled wistfully, remniscing, then his smile faded, and he continued.
"When I was eight, things went from bad to worse. I managed to get myself possesed by the very being that is in Merlin now. I got sucked into a world where the only things that existed were my fears. I was trapped; a prisoner inside my own head.
"And then Reggie rescued me. I never figured out how, but she just barged right in there and told me to conquer my fear."
The room was so silent, you could hear a pin drop.
"Four years later," Henry continued, "it came back. And it brought a whole army with it. We were fighting for months. It was all kept secret, of course. And eventually, everyone succumbed to the darkness.
"First the people who knew nothing about the Vours, who were caught by surprise. Then those who were part of the war. The last person to be claimed... was Reggie."
His voice broke when he said her name.
"As soon as it happened, as soon as I saw my sister with those terrible black eyes, I ran. Camelot was the only place I could escape to. And now... It's not even safe here anymore."
