"You're never going to be good enough."

"We need more titanium here!"

"Careful! You'll put her into overdrive!"

"615? Can you hear me?"

I woke up at 2:47 am in a cold sweat, my back aching faintly from my dream. I clamped my eyes shut, trying to capture a sliver of it, but it was gone before I could. I didn't know why I couldn't remember my dreams well. All I could remember were a few snips of sentences here and there. The one I could recall most often was: "615? Can you hear me?".

When I got these fragment of my dreams, I always went to Will. I wasn't sure why, but I had always gravitated to male figures - not that I had many. This time, however, I didn't go to him. I stayed in bed, laying there. I wasn't sure why I didn't go to him. I guess I didn't want to annoy him or

Shara. One of the rules was that I could not leave my room until 5:00 am unless there was an emergency.

I gazed up at the roof to the room that was mine. I actually had a lot of stuff that was mine. A few pillows, a few blankets, a clock that continued to blink numbers at me, and a sign that had my name spelled out in block letters on the wall. Will had bought them for me. I turned over in my bed to look at the wall that had those letters on them.

I stared at them for hours, the first few streams of sun spilling into my room. My mind wandered back to when Will had gotten me a blinking clock.

"Will, is the clock broken?" I had asked.

"No. We just bought it!" Will exclaimed, "Is something wrong?"

"It keeps turning on and off," I said.

Will started laughing loudly, holding his stomach. I tilted my head to the side, curious about what he was laughing at.

"What?"

"Kida, it's supposed to blink. What's what it's programed to do."

"Oh…" I muttered.

I had felt so stupid; I always felt stupid when I was with Will, or Shara, or even Annabelle. She knew more than me on a regular basis. She could name almost every place we went unless it was somewhere new. Annabelle could be a Princess and a Knight in Shining Armor.

5:00 am blinked at me. The red numbers were ominous and unwelcome to my eyes, causing them to water. I blinked several times in sync with the clock, glaring at hit as I wiped my eyes definitely. I pushed the covers off of me, replacing them back into their orderly fashion and leaving my room. I made the choice of wearing a tight tank top and sweatpants rolled up to my knees for what I walked in on.

When I went down the stairs, I wasn't paying much attention and walked in on Will and Shara. Will looked surprised to see me.

"Kida, hey," he said in what I called his "morning voice", "What are you doing awake, sweetheart?"

"I've been awake since 2:47 am," I muttered softly, "I, uh, had another… um…"

"Nightmare?" Shara suggested.

"Yeah," I nodded.

"Oh…" Will muttered, "Do you want to talk about it?"

"It was another fragment. Just the same one I remember." I explained, "Can you do the, uh… what's it called?"

"A hug?" Will wondered, "Sure. Come here, baby."

I walked over, finding a little spot to nestle into. Shara and Will wrapped their arms around me. I wasn't sure what the word was at the moment… cuddle. They were cuddling me. It felt absolutely wonderful, and I reveled in their warmth. I relaxed into Will more than Shara. I felt more comfortable with him. Maybe it was because it wasn't my father that had abandoned me - it was my mother.

"We're going out today," Will said suddenly. I looked up at him, even Shara looking surprised, "You and me, we're going to go out and just… do whatever we want."

"I'd like that," I whispered, "When?"

"Whenever you'd like," Will answered, "You let me know when you want to leave and we will."

I nodded, wanting to leave right then and there. I got to my feet, breaking into a run for the stairs. I wanted to get out of that house after being inside of it for so long. Shara didn't want to let me go out yet, trying to let me adjust to my new environment. I appreciated her attempt but really, I couldn't do the same thing over and over again unless it was puzzles or problem-solving.

I quickly slipped on a pair of black leggings and one of Will's old AC/DC shirts. Will and I had found that we had a mutual love for the "badass" band as Will had said. I enjoyed them, and loved one of their songs in particular; Thunderstruck. We had also found I was a "sucker" for the "classics". I didn't know what that meant but Will said that it'd make more sense over time.

I didn't do much with my hair. I just threw it into an easy braid that fell over my shoulder. I studied the color of my hair, an extremely pale color. It hardly seemed blonde like Shara said, my hair seemed like more of a white than anything. I had brushed it off, saying okay, and let the issue go.

The stairs creaked as I quietly made my way down them. When I got to the bottom, Will was dressed in a black shirt and blue jeans, a brown belt around his waist. He and Shara looked like they were fighting, only in soft voices.

"Will, she might not be ready!" Shara hissed at him.

"Shara, did you not see the way she ran for the stairs? She needs to get out of the house." Will argued. He then caught sight of me, "There she is! Hey Kida."

"Hey," I replied, "I'm ready to go. I can't wait!"

Will gave Shara a knowing look then walked towards me. He pressed a kiss to my hair line, wrapping his arms around me, and lead me to the garage door. I was, how should I say… bouncing with excitement. I needed to get out of that house and go somewhere… open. Somewhere free. I had never been allowed to go outside much, nevermind being able to go anywhere I wanted.

We got into Will's truck, a GMC TopKick 6500 Pickup, which he brought to life. I loved the roar of the engin under the hood, but something something was different. It seemed more… alive. I adored that pleasurable feeling of the engine purring under me. I giggled in my seat, the thrill of what could happen taking over me. Will laughed, turning on the radio. I smiled when I heard Thunderstruck come on. I threw my hands up for no reason, screaming out of joy. Cheering, that's what I had done. I had cheered. Cheering was a wonderful thing.

There were more than two being near the car.
