ChatterMaxkie: Sorry, it's not who you guessed, but he will have a large role to play later. Thanks for your support!

PATD is bae: Wendy is 7 months younger than Lucy. I wanted them to be the same age for this fic to promote their sisterly bond since they were together when the guild disappeared. In my other fanfic, Wendy is 14, you should check it out!

Guest: Your question shall be answered in this chapter!

Lucy cracked her eyes open and looked around, wincing at the early dawn light that filtered through the open window. Sitting up, she rubbed her eyes and yawned, looking around the room and noticing that no one else was awake, with a sigh, Lucy looked to her right to check what time it was, the clock read 5:26. Throwing off the covers, Lucy stood up and stretched, knowing that she wasn't falling back asleep now that she was up and walked over to the foot of her bed, grabbing her tournament clothes and changing into them, not bothering to change in the washroom since she could hear the heartbeats of all the other mages in the room, so she didn't have to worry about them seeing her.

Slipping on her shoes, Lucy walked over to the door, pulling her cloak off the coat hook and opening the door, stepping into the hallway, walking out of the Honey Bone and onto the empty streets of Crocus.

Fastening the clasp on her cloak and pulling up the hood, Lucy turned in the direction of the arena. Lucy admired the shops as she walked through the streets, making note of places she wanted to go with Wendy and the exceeds.

As Lucy reached the bottom of the hill that led to the arena, her laziness kicked in and she teleported to the top of one of the giant statues that marked the cardinal points on the arena. She appeared about a foot above the head of the statue with a whooshing sound and landed gracefully. Lucy looked around, surveying the arena, making sure no one else was there.

Judging by how much the sun had moved, Lucy had been there almost an hour before she sensed another presence at the arena. She ignored it, thinking that no one would find her up here, and if they did they wouldn't be able to get to her. Sighing, Lucy laid back, resting her head on the cold stone, closing her eyes and backing in the sun.

Lucy's eyes shot open as a monotonous male voice cut through her peace. "Good morning Lucy."

Sitting up, Lucy looked to her right and noticed another cloaked person standing beside her, and she knew exactly who he was. "Good morning Cheney-san."

Rogue sighed and sat down next to her. "I thought I told you last year not to use formalities." He said looking out at the arena.

Lucy smiled and shrugged. "So what has the sleep loving Shadow Dragon up so early?" She asked.

This time Rogue shrugged. "I could ask you the same."

"Well the sun's awake, so I'm awake." Lucy replied, quoting her favourite Lacrima Vision movie, falling onto her back and looking up at the sky.

They sat there quietly a while, watching the sky, then Lucy broke the silence to ask a question.

"Who do you think is going to be fighting today?"

The other slayer paused a for a moment, thinking, then he spoke up. "Not sure... I did hear that there was going to be a tag-team battle at the end of each day."

Lucy rolled her eyes. "If that's true, Wendy and I are guarantied participation in that, so are you and the broken light bulb."

Rogue smiled at the nickname Lucy had for Sting. "You know if you keep calling him that he's never going to stop calling you Blondie."

Lucy giggled. "I kind of hope I don't have to fight you two." She said softly.

That caught his attention. "Why?"

"Because your prides will be wounded when we beat you." She said with a grin.

Rogue playfully narrowed his eyes at her. "I highly doubt that."

Lucy sat up at looked at him with a pout. "Why not!"

"Would you really be able to hit me?" But Lucy understood what he really meant. Would you really be able to hurt me because I don't think I could hurt you. The Universal Dragon Slayer and the Shadow Dragon Slayer had grown quite close over the last seven years, and sadly, it was all thanks to Rogues idiot partner.

Lucy's first Grand Magic Game was going great, even if her guild was just scraping by in the rankings, she was having the time of her life. The twelve year old had just left the stadium after watching her older guild mates fight, even though most of Fairy Tails power players were gone, she decided that just this once, she was going to put on a happy face for the sake of her friends.

The last thing on Lucy's mind was a boy falling from the sky as she walked back to the hotel room where Wendy was waiting for her, that is until one did.

"Ouch!" Lucy cried out as something crashed into her back, knocking her off her feet and onto the pavement.

Groaning, Lucy rolled onto her back and sat up, looking around for the thing that fit her. Her eyes narrowed as she noticed a boy about her age, sitting up and rubbing his head. "Watch it!" She yelled at him as she stood up.

The boy shot to his feet and glared at her. "It's not my fault! You're the one who should have been watching!"

Lucy growled at the blonde boy. "You were the one that hit me!" She cried. "Apologize now!"

The boy laughed. "The great Sting apologizes to no one!" He said crossing his arms over his chest.

Lucy let out another growl and launched herself at the boy. "Universal Dragons Iron Fist!" She yelled as a purple and black aura with gold and silver specs surrounded her fist. The boy's eyes widened and he raised his arms to block, but he was too slow and Lucy's fist connected with his head.

"Always apologize to a girl even if it's not your fault!" She yelled as she picked him up by the collar of his shirt and started shaking him as little stars floated around his head.

Suddenly someone cleared their throat. Lucy dropped Sting and turned to look at the person. "Sorry about my partner." He mumbled monotonously.

Lucy blinked. The new boy had messy raven hair, black clothes and the prettiest crimson eyes she'd ever seen in her life, and in his arms were two sleeping Exceeds.

Blushing, Lucy looked away after she realised she'd been staring. "It's okay." She mumbled back.

Taking a breath she looked back at him. "My name is Lucy Marvel, I would shake your hand but they're full. Are you two Dragon Slayers?" She said.

The bay nodded his head in acknowledgment. "Rogue Cheney, we're both Dragon Slayers." He said motioning to Sting who was slowly getting up.

"What the heck Blondie... You didn't have to freak out." He muttered walking over to Rogue and snatching the red Exceed from his arms and stalking away.

Lucy sighed and looked back at Rogue. "Well I should go now," She said. "It was nice meeting you Rogue, although I can't say the same about your partner." She said as she walked over to him, giving him a peck on the cheek, a slight blush on her face.

The corner of Rogues mouth twitched and turned into a small smile as his face turned red. "Hn. It was nice to meet a Dragon Slayer that wasn't a complete idiot." He said as he turned and walked off in Stings direction.

Lucy blinked. "Hey!" She huffed. "Now you're being rude!"

Lucy blushed a bit at the memory, turning her head away from Rogue before replying. "I don't know... Maybe I'll just sic Wendy on you."

Rogue chuckled and looked in her direction, not that Lucy noticed. "I think she'd rather try to kill Sting. I can't imagine how much she wants to punch him after all the times he called her pipsqueak."

Lucy smiled. "I guess."

The two sat in silence for a while longer until Rogue got up, saying he needed to return to his guild. Lucy stood up as well deciding she might as well leave too.

"Anyways, it was a pleasure talking to you Rogue." She said with a smile.

"You too Lucy." Rogue said.

Lucy turned around and looked at the city trying to pinpoint a spot to teleport. "Lucy."

Rogue said trying to get her attention. The blonde turned and looked at Rogue, noticing he had a slight blush. "Yes Rogue?"

The shadow mage rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. "Would you like to go out for dinner with me tonight?" He asked.

Lucy's face turned as red as Erzas hair. "S-sure... I would l-love t-to."

Rogue smiled a little. "Great... I'll, um, I'll meet you here after todays events end." He said as he turned into a shadow and left, saving himself from further embarrassment.

After he disappeared, Lucy smiled and did a dance, attempting to muffle her squealing. "Oh my Mavis! I have to tell Wendy!" She said as she teleported to one on the Crocus rooftops, jumping from roof to roof as she made her way to the Honey Bone Inn.

Looking down, she noticed her team and jumped into a teleport, reappearing above Wendy and wrapping her arms around her with a squeal. "Wendy, Wendy! He asked me out, he asked me out!"

Wendy sighed and pushed Lucy off of her. "Watch the ears..." She muttered as she raised her hand to give her sister a high five, flashing a smile. "I told you he was going to be your boyfriend... Instincts never lie." Wendy said as she stood up.

"I'm so happy!" Lucy replied with stars in her eyes.

Wendy turned back to Gray, Erza and Natsu. "Ready to go?" Wendy asked.

Hearing a whoosh, the four mages turned around and noticed Lucy had vanished. "Where did she go now!" Natsu cried.

Lucy returned seconds later sporting her swords and her beige furred, violet eyes Exceed who was hanging upside down by her tail, turning slightly with her arms hanging limply from gravity. "Good morning everyone!" Cleo chirped happily, not at all bother by the fact that she was upside down.

"I forgot my stuff." Lucy explained with a smile as she attached her blades and sat Cleo on top of her head.

Gray blinked. "Oh Mavis, Lucy is in the berserker mood." He muttered.

Erza snapped out of her stupor as Lucy and Wendy began to walk away chatting about Lucy's crush. "Wait!" She called running after the sisters. "Who asked you out!"

Lucy watched sadly as Gray walked back to the Fairy Tail entrance. She knew exactly what it felt like to be humiliated. Looking down at her feet, Lucy waited to hear what event was going on next.

"Next up we have Raven Tails Flare Carona vs. Fairy Tail As Lucy Marvel!"

Lucy's eyes widened as she looked up noticing her name and the Raven Tail girls were displayed above the stadium. Lucy turned to Wendy. "Hey sis, keep your mind open, I don't trust Raven Tail." She mumbled as she looked back at the arena floor, teleporting there in a split second.

Ignoring the constant boing, Lucy waited for Flare to enter. Lucy took a breath and closed her eyes, when they opened they were slightly snake eyed, showing focus and calm.

Wendy watched from above as Flare walked out and stood roughly twenty feet in front of her. Using her advanced eyesight, Wendy looked at Lucy and noticed that she was completely in the zone.

"Begin!" The announcer yelled.

Lucy calmly reached back and pulled out her swords, begging to circle Flare like a wolf. Flares eyes narrowed and her fair started to grow racing towards Lucy. "It's time to play blondie!" She screeched manically. Lucy crouched down and sprung towards Flare.

"I don't enjoy games." She said monotonously, a cute trick she'd learnt from Rogue.

The Lucy slashed her right sword up, quick as Laxus's lightning, slicing through Flares hair with deadly precision. Lucy continued to run straight at Flare, dropping to the ground and rotating on her left hand, swinging her legs out and nocking Flare of her feet. Lucy then sprung back, landing six feet away from Flare, waiting for her to get up.

Flare stood and looked at Lucy, hatred burning in her eyes. "YOU CUT MY HAIR!" She screamed, her hair lengthening again, ablaze with fire. "Hair Shower: Firefly Flame!" She yelled as her hair fanned out towards Lucy, once it reached Lucy, it began to explode. Once the smoke cleared Flare looked around, but didn't see Lucy. "Mou... Did I kill her already."

Lucy suddenly appeared behind Flare, jumping out of her teleport and kicking Flare hard in the back causing the red-haired girl to fly forwards into the ground ten feet away.

Flare stood once more, forcing a small amount of her hair into the ground and sending the rest towards the blonde, who dodged expertly. Straitening herself out, Lucy sniffed the air, looking for where Flares hair would appear. Smelling Flares scent off to her left, she used her dragon senses to locate the strand. After a moment Lucy found it waving around behind little Auska.

Smiling, Flare looked at Lucy. "Ah, ah, ah... Move and inch and I'll kill her." Lucy narrowed her eyes and paused for a moment before letting her mind reach out towards Wendy.

Asuka... Multiple tones of Lucy's voice whispered in Wendy's mind. Save Asuka...

Wendy's eyes widened as she looked over at Asuka, noticing the hair Wendy dashed over to the girl and sliced away the hair, pulling the little girl away for good measure. "NOW LUCY!" She screached at the top of her lungs. "SHE"S SAFE!"

Lucy looked down, her hair covering her eyes. "What.. How?" Flare mumbled looking at Lucy in confusion. Suddenly, shivers went down the backs of everyone who saw Lucy's expression.

The blonde looked up slowly, showing eyes that had now gone completely snake-eyed, burning with craze and rage. Lucy slowly cracked a manic smile that made Flare cower in fear. "Now it's time to play!" She yelled, lunging towards Flare with inhuman speed, slamming the butt of her sword into the girls chest, hearing a satisfying crack to go along with Flares tortured scream.

"Do not threaten my guild." She spat venomously as she waited for the girl to get up again.

Flare sat up and yelled out another spell. "Hair Shower: Wolf Fang!" Flares hair suddenly turned into a fearsome wolf and rushed towards Lucy.

Unflinching, Lucy waited until the hair was in range and yelled out a spell. "UNIVERSAL DRAGONS ABYSAL WAVE!" She screamed, slamming her fists down on the snout of the hair, watching as purple, black and silver wisps exploded from were her fists connected, rushing towards Flare, disintegrating her hair as it moved. Placing her swords back in their sheaths, Lucy watched calmly as the wave engulfed Flare, who screamed and fell into unconsciousness as the wave dissipated behind her, fading into nothingness.

"The winner is LUCY MARVEL OF FAIRY TAIL!" The announcer screamed as the crowd went wild. Lucy bowed slightly, her eyes returning to normal as she glanced up at her guild, noticing Gray, Erza and Natsu's shocked expressions.

Smiling, Lucy teleported to the stands and sat down with a huff, slightly exhausted from all the running.
