A/N: Hi guys! So I'm definitely on a role with the writing. To be honest, I'm impressed that I've got the writing bug even though its finals time. Not to worry though I shall budget my time out well. I hope you guys are starting to find Mae& Rose rather intriguing. Writing comedy is difficult for me but I shall try none the less.

Enjoy!

Watching a group of eight dwarves trying to right themselves was turning out to be quite the spectacle for the two half-hobbits. There were lots of flailing appendages, grunts and groans as each slowly became right side up.

Though the anger of being startled awake and now having the rambunctious crowd to deal with still coursed through her veins, Mae could not help but observe them with a terribly veiled curiosity.

Dwarves were not a common occurrence in the Shire so the sheer size of their company was intriguing in and of itself. The intricacy in their facial hair was what next caught Mae's attention.

Most had plaits though the size and amount varied greatly between them. One had an enormous ginger beard that rested upon his large belly. Another had many plaits that were separated into three sections creating quite an impressive beard.

Truly the facial hair only got became elaborate as she gazed about at them. Mae could not help the smile that pulled at her lips as she found one that she rather liked.

One had separated himself from their circle and ventured towards her with a warm grin. Actually everything about the dwarf seemed to radiate kindness and warmth from his eyes to his delightfully charming mustache. Not to mention the pigtails that stuck out from underneath a floppy hat that he removed from his head.

"We're dreadfully sorry lass to drop in on you like this." He began in an equally charming accent that had her smile widening. "By chance, are you Mrs. Baggins?"

Mae found herself at a loss for words and when she was at a loss, Rose was always prepared for laughter was heard ringing down the halls.

Her hazel eyes glared over at the now fully dressed blonde currently supporting herself against the wall as her body convulsed in laughter. For being known as the more serious one out of the two, Rose was terrible at first impressions.

"Lass?" The stranger questioned regaining her attention and disrupting possible thoughts of malice when it came to her dear Primrose.

"Forgive me; I was distracted by my dear cousin Primrose." Mae began stressing her name knowing just how much she absolutely dreaded it.

The glare and growl that it drew from the blonde put a grin to her face as she focused upon the charming dwarf again.

"I am actually not Mrs. Baggins, my name is Mae Brandybuck." She could have sworn that the little bit of news added a sparkle to his green eyes.

That news also managed to elicit a few groans and utterances of "I told you" from the other members.

"Well it is a pleasure to meet you Mae. The name's Bofur, at your service." He murmured taking her hand in his placing a kiss to the tops of her knuckles.

Though a ladylike blush painted her cheeks, Mae was a tad weary of the charm. By rule of thumb, the things or dwarfs in this instance that appeared too good to be true generally were.

"Forgive me for interrupting but while we are glad to meet you, it seems that there are seven other dwarfs who are still in dire need of introduction." Rose muttered interrupting the two as she appeared beside her cousin not thrilled at the blatant flirting.

An elderly dwarf, the one with the three pronged beard and one with a sweet baby face were the first. "Dori, Nori and Ori at your service." They began, each introducing themselves, adding a united bow at the end.

Two rather moody looking dwarves were next; one with a full ginger beard and the other with a short grey beard intricately plaited. "Gloin and Oin at your service." Each grumbled, following in their companions' steps bowing once they finished.

All that were left were two dwarves, if you did not account for dear Bofur. The one with the enormous ginger beard that matched his waist and the other with an axe fragment sticking out of his forehead.

"Last but certainly not least is my brother Bombur and cousin Bifur." Bofur began with a grin as both bowed to the gorgeous young ladies.

"We are expected at Master Baggins home, so if you could show us the direction we will take our leave." Gloin murmured breaking the pleasant atmosphere with his rough brogue not wanting to dawdle.

"There is no Master…" Primrose began intending on sending these dwarves far from her cousin's doorstep. She would have succeeded, had it not been for Mae's voice interrupting her.

"We shall show you the way, give me a moment." She said with a grin to the dwarves before she charged down the hall at full speed.

That look of joy and utter mischief on Mae's face as she brushed passed her brought an unmistakable sinking feeling to her stomach. Just like the one she had when she found Mae and Gandalf enjoying tea in the kitchen.

"Do give me a moment, would you." Rose began gazing over at Bofur who was staring dumbfounded down the hall where Mae just passed. A blush crept up his cheeks as he nodded and returned to the grumbling mass of dwarves.

Quick as a flash, Rose headed down to Mae's room finding her properly dressed; and adorned in the hall which was surprising in itself. Asking Mae to get ready to go to training or even to the market in the morning was a dangerous mission. If you were lucky, all you'd get was a few curses.

"Ready to go?" Mae questioned with a grin upon her face.

"You're seriously asking me that." Rose began with a smirk giving into her amusement even though it was certainly not the time. That of course was promptly met with a very lady like and mature gesture of Mae sticking her tongue out.

"Come on, we've got a company of dwarves to assist." Mae replied brushing passed her with her tongue still out and proud. A hand upon her wrist promptly stopped her movements as Rose remembered her initial purpose for coming over.

"You really mean to traipse over to Bilbo's and just drop a pile of dwarves upon his front stoop?" Rose questioned gazing at her incredulously.

The grin that pulled at Mae's lips brought back that sinking feeling to her stomach as she replied with an audible pop, "Yup."

Rose's scowl seemed permanently etched in her face as she stood at her cousin's front door with the company of dwarves behind her. It deepened as she heard Mae's laughter floating amongst the grumble of dwarvish conversations.

She spent the entire walk over to Bilbo's hearing her cousin's blatantly flirting with Bofur, the toymaker from the Blue Mountains. The swooning on Mae's behalf was bloody palpable.

Oh that list could practically go on for miles. When Mae actually found someone attractive or anything interesting, she would talk incessantly on and on. It seemed that Bofur was just as interested for he listened and responded in kind with warm grins and his own laughter.

They were sickeningly cute.

"What's taking so bloody long? Did ya even knock on the door lass?" The grey haired dwarf with the horn, Oin, mumbled appearing at her side pounding upon Bilbo's front door with a fist.

Her usually warm, bright blue eyes narrowed into thin slits at the bulky dwarf beside her. "Of course I did." She began glaring at the brutish warrior; a snippy retort poised upon her lips ready to attack.

"And how is our company fairing?" A whimsical elderly voice quipped interrupting Rose's train of thought. Gazing over her shoulder, sure enough there behind them was the mirth maker and perpetrator of all her current distress Gandalf the Grey.

"With Mae and Primrose leading the way, we're much better now." Bofur began with a warm grin to Mae who blushed and gazed about trying to avoid his praise.

"Ah, welcome ladies. We are thoroughly in your debt." Gandalf began prepared to converse though the sounds of Bilbo's voice, unusually high pitched voice nearing the door stopped him.

"No, no there's nobody home. Go away and bother somebody else. There are far too many dwarves in my dining room as it is." A growl tore from Rose's throat as all the dwarves crowded around the door promptly wedging her between the two.

"Ay watch it you arseholes!"

"If this is clot head's idea of joke, I can only say it is in very poor taste." A startled gasp escaped Rose's lips as the door disappeared behind her and she smacked the floor rather roughly.

Gazing up at the pile of dwarves that was quite a familiar site, Rose tried to take deep breaths as her cousin glared down at her.

As the dwarf pile started fixing themselves again for the second time, they quickly dispersed amongst her cousin's house running off and raiding the poor hobbit's pantry.

Getting to her feet, Rose walked up to her cousin's side as she observed the horror. Bilbo merely glared at her and she could not help but gape back at him.

"What?"

"You brought them here?" Bilbo questioned back as Rose glared back at him.

"Does it look like I wanted to?" She growled. Without another word, she smacked her cousin upside the head as she joined up with her cousin and the crazy dwarves.
