Hey, thanks for the reviews. Always look forward to hearing feedback. So without further ado, the next chapter.
TIME TO GET AWAY
Chapter Two
"This is freaking ridiculous!" Dawson thundered, standing up abruptly and making his way over to them.
Evan Pacey started wailing at the loud voice and Pacey handed the little guy to his mother before stepping in front of her in a protective stance.
"Watch it Dawson," Pacey said, eyes flaming in a way that everyone knew meant that he would have no reservations of kicking Dawson's butt if that's what was required to keep Joey and the baby okay. "You scared the baby."
Joey again reached out threaded the fingers of her right hand with Pacey's fingers on the left, stepping beside him, Evan Pacey planted firmly on her left hip. He had calmed down, but there was still a small tear running down his cheek.
"Oh, Pacey the family man." Dawson scoffed. "How long before you screw up his life seeing as you are nothing but a screw up."
Joey, in a gesture nobody expected, took her hand from Pacey and promptly punched Dawson in the face, causing him to fall and Joey to have to comfort poor Evan Pacey again by bouncing him on her hip.
"I don't like the way that you are talking about Pacey, Dawson," Joey said. "Pacey is my saviour. He has always been one of my best friends, but for two years now he has been my best friend and I wouldn't change it for the world. And you know what I noticed those first months before we left Capeside? That he had always been there supporting me, protecting me, pushing me to do better and I had never even given him the credit for it."
"You sound like you're in love with him," Came the soft voice of Andie. She was looking down at her hands while everyone else was looking at them in mere shock.
Pacey and Joey both went beet red and then Joey put an arm around his waist and he pulled her to him.
"I am," Joey said. "When we left I started feeling more for him. We finally docked in this little town just north of Boston and the people there were so friendly. We could afford an apartment but we chose to live on the boat. We both knew that our feelings for each other were changing, but nothing happened until…."
SIX MONTHS AGO
"Congratulations, you have a baby boy."
Joey leaned back on the delivery bed against the pillows and Pacey squeezed her hand and got up on the bed with her, pulling her into a hug. He kissed her forehead as a baby wrapped in blue was handed to her.
The doctors and nurses smiled at the young family, all looking lovingly at one another before leaving.
"He looks just like you, Jo," Pacey whispered, taking the little guy's hand in his. The baby wrapped his small hand around Pacey's index finger and he felt a surge of love run through him.
"Thank God," Joey said and Pacey laughed. "I love you, Pacey," she whispered.
He looked at her, "I love you too, Jo," he said.
"No, I don't mean I love you as in we're twelve years old lying in bed about to fall asleep and you say I love you and will always protect you, I mean that I have fallen in love with you, Pacey Witter, my best friend." Joey looked at Pacey, almost begging that he feels the same.
"And I am in love with you, Josephine Potter, my best friend," he said, wrapping his arms around her and placing a gentle kiss on her lips.
It felt as though fireworks were exploding in both of them. They pulled away.
A nurse came in at that moment with a clipboard. "Hi, I just need some information for the birth certificate. Mother's name?"
"Josephine Lynn Potter." Pacey answered.
"Father's name?"
"Pacey Jackson Witter," Joey said, leaning more against Pacey if it were possible.
"And baby's name?"
Joey looked up at Pacey and smiled. "Evan Pacey Witter."
The nurse took this all down before smiling at them. "Thank you, that's all that I need." She smiled one last time before ducking out of the room.
"He's perfect, Joey," Pacey whispered.
"Just like his Daddy, Pace," Joey replied, resting her head on his shoulder.
PRESENT
Gale laughed softly, causing everyone to look at her as though she had sprouted a second head.
"What?" Dawson asked, already wishing that he had never woken up that morning.
"It's just," Gale sighed. "Joey, I mentioned to your mom how you and Dawson were just destined to be together," Joey and Pacey looked at each other, both holding back an eye roll, "And she told me that you would end up with your other best friend, Pacey. She always knew that it would be the two of you."
"And Pacey," Mitch said standing up, "Helping Joey out like this, taking responsibility for a child that isn't even yours…I have always thought of you as another son and, well, this might be the proudest moment of my life."
Pacey had tears in his eyes and reached for his son, taking him from Joey and cuddling up to him. "Thanks, Mitch, that really means a lot to me."
"Joey, I just can't believe that you would sleep with AJ," Bessie said.
"It was a mistake. I thought that it would fix all of our problems but it didn't. I would say that I wish it had never happened, but I don't. Because if I didn't sleep with him I wouldn't have Evan Pacey, and who knows how long it might have taken for me and Pacey to realize we were perfect for one another. We have been living together, sleeping in the same bed, for fourteen months. I have no doubt that we would have gotten together eventually, but who knows how long it might have taken. And I wouldn't trade Evan Pacey for anything."
"This is complete bull, Joey, you and Pacey are never going to work. Eventually he will get tired of you and move on to the next girl who catches his fancy. He told you he loved you, whatever, but he told Andie that too and he broke up with her; broke her heart." Dawson yelled.
"Andie," Joey started, voice filled with a tone of malice and disgust, "Slept with another guy while Pacey was here counting the minutes until he would see her again. You were in Philadelphia, but I was here with Pacey every day and I know how much he missed her. And I know how much it broke his heart that she cheated on him."
"Whatever Joey, you know that once he is tired of sleeping with you he will move on to the next young and virile girl." Dawson raged.
"Go to hell, Dawson," Joey yelled.
Evan Pacey, frightened by the yelling between his mother and Dawson, started crying. Pacey rocked him, whispering to him and stroking his hair while everyone looked on at the two. Pacey was a natural, and he clearly loved Evan Pacey, and clearly loved Joey.
"Enough," Jen yelled.
It was quiet, all for Evan Pacey's soft sniffles.
"Dawson, you are so incredibly out of line here that you cannot even see the line in the distance. I know that it must hurt that Joey and Pacey are together, but for at least Evan Pacey's sake you had better get your act together because he is going to need his Uncle Dawson. They love each other, and whether biologically or not, they have a baby together and you need to accept that." She turned to Joey and Pacey. "And if you ever need any help, or even a babysitter so you can go out to a nice dinner or something, I'm here for you. Auntie Jen needs to get to know her new nephew."

That's all for now. I hoped that you like it. Let me know what you think. The next chapter should be up soon. Peace
