Hi...I'm ashamed of myself really. I get busy a lot and haven't had any inspiration for chapters for any of my stories. So I decided to write a new chapter for all of my stories that I can though its gonna be tough. I'm surprised to have gotten such a response from my crappy story telling but I'm not complaining. I'll stop rambling and start now.
Secrets
Xing smirked as she cleaned the house. Headphones in her ears pumping out some rock music as she danced in the apartment. She was alone. Her parents were out minding the shop. She decided to surprise them with a clean living space. She was a teenager now. No more than 14 years old. She was some what popular in school, she had good grades, she was friendly with a lot of people, she also stayed out of trouble. She never got into fights or did anything bad that was worth mentioning. Sure she had friends and started to become interested in boys and may have been out too late sometimes but never did anything serious. She was a good kid.
She was in her parent's room. She rarely ever went in there except to wake up her father. She had finished changing their sheets. They didn't really seem to care about things like that. Her parents weren't really the most neat of people. She never asked why. She figured there was nothing unusual about that.
She opened the closet and started to organize and clean. She smirked at the mess. Her dad just threw things in there not really caring if anything fell over or got lost. Hei was careless about things like that. She pulled everything out and set the clothes and bags neatly aside. She moved the last back and noticed something. One of the floorboards was loose.
She blinked and inspected the loose board. Something was underneath. Something white. She was about move it when she heard the door open. "Xing?" She turned her head. Hei stood in the doorway staring at her. "What the hell are you doing in there?" He seemed angry. "Just cleaning." She answered not really afraid of him. Her dad got angry a lot. Never seemed to express it like other people. He also didn't yell at all. He just brooded from time to time. She constantly pokes fun at him for it, calling him grumpy face. Sometimes her mother got into it too with the occasional joke. She never really heard him raise his voice. "Get out of there!" He yelled. She blinked in a confused manner. "Now!" He yelled again.
Xing scrambled to get up. She blinked and started to walk to him. He grabbed her wrist and glared at her.
"You never go in there! What have I told you! Never go into my things!" He yelled.
Xing frowned. "What the hell is wrong with you!" She countered.
"I was cleaning. Maybe if you weren't such a damn pig I wouldn't be in your stuff. Now let go of me!" She yelled back snatching out of his grip.
His eyes widened and Xing flinched when he raised his hand. He fell short of hitting her. "Get out of my sight." He said lowering his arm, glaring at her. Xing returned the glare, on the verge of tears and ran past him. She didn't do anything wrong. He was being angry for no reason.
Hei didn't look back as he heard the door slam. He made his way to the closet and looked at the loose floorboard. His gaze never leaving spot. He knelt down and removed the plank of wood from the ground. He stared at that mask. The face of the reaper. If she had found this then she would have the pieces to figure it out. That should never happen. He was done with the black reaper. It was everything he hated about himself. He should just shatter the damn mask, burn the equipment and be done with it. His glare grew harsher as he realized he couldn't. "Why don't you just die." He said to the mask as though it were an actual person. He then put the board back where it was and moved some junk he didn't really care for over it. Burying the mask once more.
Wibbly Wobbily Timey Wimey
The sun shone brightly that day in the park. The whole world seemed to glow under the rays of the sun. The grass on the ground and the trees on the leaves were so green. The sky was the deepest and most brilliant shade of blue that had been seen in a long time. The whole planet just seemed to be bright and colorful. The birds sang with enthusiasm and pride while the bugs buzzed about on some grand adventure that will never be told. Those are the senses of a child. Things that seem ordinary to adults, are absolutely exciting and wonderful. This is how Xing saw the world.
So there she was playing by herself while her parents were grabbing lunch from a nearby vendor. She was within view and surrounded by other people. Other parents and nannies who were watching their own children and their surroundings. A couple of police officers were having lunch over at a nearby bench. Some volunteer workers were cleaning up the park of litter and debris. It was only for a few minutes. There was no danger at all.
"Hey you." She heard a voice behind her. She blinked. She turned around and saw this girl standing behind her. Her hair was a weird color between green and yellow. Her eyes were bright amber as they looked at hers. She was obviously older than any kid here though she looked younger than a parent. She had this slender build that had both womanly and girlish features. She wore a white and purple sweatshirt that went with her baseball cap and snow white sneakers. "Me?" Xing asked the stranger.
"Yeah you. Whats you're name?"
"Xing."
"Ah. I kinda figured he would name you after 'her'. I'm Amber."
"Huh?"
"How old are you?"
"Five and three quarters."
"Huh. You grew. Hey hold on I got something for you."
The girl squatted down and pulled out a lollipop and offered the treat to Xing. The little girl took the candy and looked at her. "How come you're giving me this?"
"Why not? You should go find you're mom and dad. Ok? Don't talk to anymore strangers." She warned and waved her finger like she was an adult herself. Xing just stared at her like she crazy and ran to go find her parents.
Hei and Yin were paying the vendor for their lunch when Xing came running along and stopped just short of bumping into her mother. She could smell the hot cheese mixing with the meat in the sandwich. It smelled so good. Hei looked at her with a confused face. "Slow down there. Where's the fire?" He asked the child. Yin started nibbling on her sandwich, watching the two. Hei then noticed the lollipop after a few moments.
"Xing where did you get that?"
"That weird lady gave it to me."
"What weird lady?" Hei said narrowing his eyes. He was imagining the worst already.
"She said her name was Amber."
Hei stiffened while Yin's eyes widened. That name triggered something for both of them. Xing tilted her head with a confused look on her face. She turned and pointed over to the tree where Amber was earlier.
"She was over there. Wait...where did she go?" Xing asked when she saw Amber was no longer there. Where could she have gone?
"She was there a second ago."
"Xing its time to go home." Hei said in a different tone. That was the tone he used when he got spooked by something. Even though she was so young she understood that her father was constantly paranoid. He was always looking over his shoulder and whenever he thought he saw someone he knew he would freeze up and get out of there as quickly as possible. She didn't think it was that weird though. She just thought it was normal. She figured it was a grown up thing.
They just walked out of the park and went straight home. Xing never understood the significance of this woman or who she was.
A/N: Wanted there to be a third story in this chapter but I figured this is long enough for right now. It seems bigger while writing this than when I actually publish it. The last part of the second story was a bit rushed and I hope you forgive me for it. I kinda like the first chapter because I remember having a conversation with a friend about Hei's character and how he has 3 personas There is Hei himself which is how he acts when he is around those he cares about or that know him very well it is a bit of a mix between his 'Li' persona and 'Reaper' persona, There is the 'Li' persona that he does in front of perfect strangers or when he is undercover this personality is him trying to reach out to people even though he feels like he doesn't deserve any acknowledgement. The 'Reaper' persona is when he is after someone. This is when he is at his cruelest and becomes cold and calculating like a typical contractor. This persona is the one he most despises since he doesn't actually like killing but does it in habit. While I consider them separate personas doesn't mean I think he has split personalities. We all act differently when talking to different people and change our own 'personas' though not to the extreme that Hei does. I think these different parts of his psyche constantly clash and cause his erratic behavior. That is why he cannot dispose or destroy his reaper gear because he would be killing a part of himself. I also wanted to make a chapter where Hei isn't a model father because lets be honest he is pretty damaged and has trust issues. I also wanted him to lose his temper that he is prone to doing. Alot of people don't like this behavior because they associate it with Season 2 Hei and get all mad saying he breaks character when this couldn't farther from the truth, if you look closely at his character during season 1 as he is constantly close to go over the edge and the events in Gaiden well justify his behavior in season 2.
Also for Chapter 2 haha! Doctor Who reference for the win. I just wanted amber to make a small cameo and be mysterious for abit.
Well thats all for right now and hopefully I can right the next chapter soon but My life is pretty hectic right now lol. Don't forget to Rate and Review.
