Chapter 2
Cassia slowly opened her eyes and saw that she was in a white room.
Cassia slowly looked around and saw that someone was sleeping on the right side of the bed that Cassia was in.
At first, Cassia didn't recognize the girl, but, after thinking about what had happened, Cassia managed to recognize the girl as the one who was reassuring her that everything was going to be fine.
Still, something felt wrong.
Suddenly, the girl woke up.
"You're awake!" The girl said with a smile in her face.
Cassia nodded.
"How do you feel?" The girl asked.
"The injury in my stomach still hurts, but, when compared to before, it is small." Cassia said.
"OK. By the way, what's your name?"
At first, Cassia wasn't going to answer her, but, when Cassia realized that the girl wasn't a threat and, even if she was, Cassia could easily kill her, Cassia said, "My name is Cassia."
"That's a pretty name. My name is-" The girl was interrupted when a woman said, "Lunafreya! What are you doing here!?"
"But, Mom, I- I-" Lunafreya wasn't able to finish her sentence because her mother ordered her to return to her room.
Lunafreya nodded and obeyed her mother.
When Lunafreya left the room, her mother walked towards Cassia.
"What's your name?" The woman asked.
"Cassia." Cassia said.
"Cassia, where are your parents?" The woman asked.
"I don't know." Cassia said.
"Do you know how you got hurt?" The woman asked.
"I don't remember." Cassia lied.
"Do you know how you got in my daughter's room?" The woman asked.
"No." Cassia said.
"What do you remember?" The woman asked.
"Waking up in this room." Cassia said.
The woman kept asking Cassia several questions, but Cassia would respond by saying that she didn't know or that she didn't remember. Yet, Cassia noticed the sad expression that the woman had when she saw her.
After the questioning, the woman told her to rest and that tomorrow everything was going to be resolved.
When the woman, better known as Queen Sylva Via Fleuret, left, Cassia began to think about the situation she was currently in.
First, she somehow managed to travel back to the past. Second, she mysteriously managed to de age. And, finally, for some strange reason the Queen looked at her with a sad expression in her face.
Cassia knew very little about the time before she was created. Yet, what she knew for certain is that the Oracle, Lunafreya, and Noctis, the son of King Regis, perished at some time.
But, Cassia knew that this information wouldn't help her. So, she began thinking of different plans, yet, in the end, sleep won the battle.
When Cassia woke up, she saw that she was alone in the white room.
This gave time for Cassia to evaluate her options.
Cassia thought about escaping, but, if she managed to do that, where would she go and would her injury even allowed her to escape. Then, she thought about telling someone the information she knew, but that would cause her to be seen as a nuisance, imprisoned, or executed. Finally, Cassia realized that if she wanted to survive, then the only thing she could do is to try to adapt to the time she is in and watch as the events unfold.
The door of Cassia's room opened and Cassia saw that the person responsible from it was Lunafreya, who was carrying to dolls.
Lunafreya smiled and said, "You're awake!"
Lunafreya ran towards Cassia and gave her one of the dolls.
"Do you like it?" Lunafreya asked.
Cassia looked at the doll and said, "What is this?"
"It's a doll. To be more specific, it's a Moogle doll." Lunafreya said.
"What's a Moogle?" Cassia asked.
Instantly, Lunafreya began to tell her all of the history of the Moogles and how they became extinct. After that history lesson, Cassia said, "Why are you giving this to me?"
"Because I thought that you would be bored in here." Lunafreya said.
"Thank you for your consideration." Cassia told her.
"Oh, no. There's no need to thank me." Lunafreya said.
While Cassia was touching the doll that Lunafreya gave her, Cassia asked, "What am I supposed to do with it?"
"We can play with them." Lunafreya said.
"How?" Cassia asked.
"Well… Um… One of us begins saying a story and we… Um… act with what the story says." Lunafreya said with uncertainty.
Cassia nodded which made Lunafreya smiled.
Lunafreya began by saying a story about two siblings, who were lost in a forest, and somehow the story ended up with an intergalactic battle between five kingdoms that the two sibling managed to stop before things escalated more.
When Lunafreya finished her story, she shyly looked at Cassia and told her, "Sorry if my story was bad."
"No, it was… entertaining." Cassia said and she did really mean it because, despise how weird the story turned out to be, it was fun and enjoyable.
Lunafreya smiled and said, "Now is your turn!"
Cassia didn't want to tell a story, but she obeyed nonetheless.
"Well, they're two partners who are tasked to defeat an enemy." Cassia said, then, she went silent for a moment. But, before Lunafreya could ask her anything, Cassia resumed her story which went that the two partners were working under someone, who would send them on missions. Cassia continued to tell that story until Lunafreya said in a low voice, "Why don't we leave him?"
"We can't." Cassia said.
"Yes, we can. The both of us are strong." Lunafreya said.
"But, where would we go?" Cassia asked.
"Anywhere because together we can do anything we want!" Lunafreya happily said.
But, tears began to escape Cassia's eyes. When Lunafreya saw that Cassia was crying, Lunafreya said, "What's wrong? Is your injury still hurting you a lot?"
Cassia didn't respond her because she didn't why she was crying… She just didn't know.
Suddenly, the Queen entered the room and gently told Lunafreya to leave the room.
Lunafreya, at first, didn't want to leave (which surprised the Queen), but the Queen managed to convince her that she was going to take care of everything and, with a small frown on her face, Lunafreya left.
Cassia thought that the Queen was going to scold her for crying like that, but Cassia didn't expect for the Queen to carefully wipe her tears and hugged her while reassuring that there was no reason to cry.
Cassia didn't know why, but she felt… Happy and safe when the Queen did that.
